Introducing Rit Aphiwatthanakul

Born and raised in Chiang Mai, northern Thailand, Saowarit – Rit for short – is one of our most experienced and revered cycling guides in Southeast Asia. He’s been expertly leading Exodus clients on two wheels since 2013, but was previously a Buddhist monk for 12 years while also receiving his education.

With a curious nature and desire to explore, he left the monkhood to work in tourism; first as a cycling guide in Chiang Mai, before venturing further afield to cycle and lead tours across Thailand and Southeast Asia. Consistently receiving wonderful feedback and admired for his gentle and kind nature, Rit is passionate about sharing his love and knowledge of Southeast Asian culture and connecting Exodus clients with locals and people from all walks of life along the way.
