FAQs on Croatia Tours

How long are your trips to Croatia?

Our Croatia tours typically range from 8-11 days to make sure you have time to take all the exciting sights that the country has to offer. We would advise you to book eight days as a minimum as this also gives you plenty of time to thoroughly explore each place you visit and immerse yourself in the history and culture of the region.

Is it safe to travel to Croatia?

Exodus monitors the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) travel advice closely for every country we provide tours in, and we adhere to the advice strictly.

The FCDO has reported the majority of trips to Croatia taken in 2022 were enjoyed trouble-free, with almost 750,000 Brits visiting across the year.

Exodus has also joined the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office’s Know Before You Go campaign. This is so we can provide tourists travelling from the UK with advice about the countries they are visiting before departure and information about local laws and customs. Ensuring customer safety and enjoyment is our priority here at Exodus. You can visit our Travel Safety Advice page for more information on how we’ll ensure your safety on our Croatia tours.

What part of Croatia is best for a holiday?

There are so many beautiful sights and vibrant cities to visit, like Split and Dubrovnik – but which is better? The truth is that it’s impossible to pick just one part of this dynamic country as best for a holiday. Each region and city have something unique and exciting to offer, depending on what you’re looking for.

When visiting the Dalmatian coast on two wheels, no trip is complete without a trip to Dubrovnik. Made even more famous by its recent use as a Game of Thrones destination, this historical city is overflowing with ancient architecture, exciting attractions, and traditional cuisine. If this sounds up your street, our tour of Dubrovnik & the Dalmatian Coast is for you.

Split is perfect if you’re looking to explore an energetic Croatian city on foot. Enjoy the blend of modern culture with ancient traditions and immerse yourself in the history and customs of locals.

How to travel in Croatia

Our guided Croatia tours are some of the best ways to travel around the country and make sure you see the sights. Croatia’s rail network covers parts of the north and east but is of little use on the coast so any of our guided cycling tours are the perfect way to travel.

You can also travel by foot a lot of the time so you can take advantage of our guided or self-guided walks from coast to castle. You’ll be set up in charming hotels along your tour of Croatia with luggage transfers between each destination.

If you’re interested in island hopping along the Dalmatian coast, you’ll move between your destinations with our walking transfers by car or boat.

What is the best time to travel to Croatia?

The best time to travel depends on what you’re looking for on your trip to Croatia. If you’re looking to make the most of the hot weather, the best time to visit is between June and August when the climate is perfect for swimming, boating around the islands, and city exploring.

Is 7 days in Croatia enough?

Some of our trips to Croatia take five days to complete so a week may suffice, depending on where you want to go and what you want to see. Our cycling tours range between 8-11 days to ensure you get the most out of your Croatia tour and can fully immerse yourself in Croatian culture.

What language do they speak in Croatia?

Standard Croatian is the official language spoken in Croatia followed closely by Standard Bosnian and Standard Serbian.

English is also widely spoken in Croatia like many other countries in Europe, so you may not need to worry about a language barrier in the unlikely event you encounter any issues on your tour.

What is the weather like in Croatia?

Like most Mediterranean countries, the weather in Croatia is warm and dry in the summer and then cool and rainy towards the end of the year.

Summer temperatures generally range between 26 to 30°C along the coast, 22 to 26°C in the continental region, and 15 to 20°C in the mountains with the hottest months being July and August. Temperatures can drop to as low as -1°C in the mountain area but stay as high as 10°C depending on the region.

Is Croatia cheap for holidays?

While Croatia is generally cheaper than the UK, the answer to this depends on two factors: when you plan on going and where in Croatia you’re travelling to as some regions are more expensive than others.

We aim to deliver the most value-driven holiday packages to our customers so you can make the most out of your tour of Croatia. Depending on the trip you choose, flights, meals, and a variety of excursions are included in the price, so you’ll only have to cover the cost of any additional extras you want along the way.

Are flights included as part of your holidays to Croatia?

Almost all our holidays to Croatia feature flights included as part of the tour. If you want to travel using a different mode of transportation, our experts can help book rail and road travel for you as well. Of course, if you want to get to Croatia on your own, that is completely fine too – simply enquire about “land only” bookings when chatting to our helpful team.

Please bear in mind that our flights online are priced from London, so please ask for a quote if you are wanting to find out the cost of travelling from a different UK airport.

Are your tours to Croatia guided?

Many of our tours to Croatia are guided, with an expert local Exodus employee showing you the sights and filling you in on all the local colour. It’s a great way to experience Croatia if you’re new to this spellbinding country.

That said, we also offer self-guided holidays too – perfect if you want to explore intrepidly on your own or as a group. With the latter, we’ll provide all your directions and plenty of information, and make sure your bags and hotel rooms are ready and waiting after your days of exploring.
