FAQs on Vietnam Tours

Where is Vietnam?

Vietnam is in Southeast Asia on the Indochina Peninsula. It’s located to the south of China and east of Laos, Thailand, and Cambodia.

Is Vietnam safe?

According to the British government, Vietnam is a safe country to travel to with most visits being trouble-free. But as with anywhere you visit abroad, you must remain vigilant at all times. This means not handing your passport over to third-party businesses as a guarantee for items like motorcycle rentals and always keeping an eye on your belongings – especially in crowded areas.

What time zone does Vietnam use?

Vietnam uses Indochina Time (ICT) which is seven hours ahead of UK time.

How long is a direct flight to Vietnam?

Direct flights from London to Hanoi take roughly 11 hours but this can change depending on the weather and other external factors. You can always get in touch with our team for more detail about the journey time for your Vietnam holiday.

Are there entry requirements for getting into Vietnam?

At the time of writing, there are just two entry requirements to get into Vietnam. They are proof of a negative COVID test result and a valid passport. You no longer need to be vaccinated to enter the country and you may stay in Vietnam for 15 days without having to apply for a visa. Tourists wishing to stay longer will have to apply for a visa through an online portal.

Entry requirements may be reviewed in the future, so it’s always a good idea to check them through the UK government website before booking your trip to Vietnam.

What is the best time of year to go to Vietnam and Cambodia?

Although Cambodia borders southern and eastern Vietnam, the weather can vary depending on which parts you visit. During January and February, you’ll enjoy comfortable weather in the south of Cambodia whereas more central and northern parts of Vietnam can be cooler and wetter at this time of year. To avoid the monsoon season in Cambodia, consider travelling outside of June to October. However, in southern Vietnam, the monsoon season lasts from May to November.

What is the best time to visit Vietnam?

The weather can vary depending on where you want to book Vietnam tours. In the south, the dry season takes place between December and April. Whereas the rainy season is from May to November and tends to be short bursts interspersed with sunshine. Regardless of the rain showers, May to August is a great time to explore central Vietnam.

How many days are sufficient to visit Cambodia?

There are many sights to discover in Cambodia, so we’d recommend spending between 10 and 14 days in the country if you want to explore the best bits and get a real flavour of the country. Our holidays to Cambodia are filled with insightful tours and activities so you’ll need plenty of time to enjoy them to the full.

Which is best Vietnam or Cambodia?

Although neighbours, Vietnam and Cambodia both bring something different to the table. If you’re a culture vulture who loves to scratch beneath the surface of a destination, learn about the culture or encounter the local wildlife, then Cambodia’s the place for you. Here you’ll discover some of the most significant cultural and religious sites in the world and there are also plenty of bird-watching opportunities. But if you love to hit the beach or hang out in vibrant cities where you can sample traditional street foods, you should probably opt for Vietnam.

Are your Vietnam tours guided?

Yes, our adventure holidays to Vietnam are guided to ensure you get the most out of your trip and see the best sights that this wonderful country has to offer. The tours are led by experts who have a wealth of local knowledge and know how to deliver fun-filled adventures for everyone.

If you opt for one of the Vietnam culture tours then a local guide will be with you at all times. That’s because they have the best knowledge of the area, local traditions, and are aware of cultural and social sensitivities. If it’s an activity tour in Vietnam like cycling, then you’ll still have your local guide, but you’ll also be supported by assistant cycling staff to keep you safe during the trip.

What are the durations of your tours in Vietnam?

Our action-packed Vietnam tours range between 10 to 14 days depending on the activity. We always recommend choosing longer durations for adventure holidays to places like Vietnam, so that you can get the most out of the trip and see everything possible in this vibrant country.
