Great trip, lovely people
I really enjoyed this tour. It was a beautifully put together itinerary that offered a great mix of history, culture and scenic highlights.
Our days were thoughtfully organised, the guide was knowledgeable and engaging, and staying in one nice hotel during the tour made the whole experience feel smooth and comfortable. Exploring places like Valletta, Mdina and Gozo gave a real sense of the islands’ character and rich past.
It was a very enjoyable and memorable trip, made special not just by the destinations, but by the people I shared it with as we had a very friendly and nice group.
Discover Sri Lanka
Our guide, driver and helper were all excellent. They made our holiday, looking after us, showing us their great country and explaining the culture and history with very good knowledge.
Most Inspirational Moment
So many. All the wildlife - very lucky to be in the right place/time to release turtle hatchlings to the sea. The people of Sri Lanka are very kind and welcoming. The whole county with its different climate and scenery.
Thoughts on Group Leader
It is impossible to give anything but great praise to Ruwan. He was so helpful, knowledgeable, approachable and organized. He made our trip. His enthusiasm and love of his country was plain to see. He has been the best guide we have encountered on our many trips abroad.
Highlights of Kerala
There were only four on the trip (Highlights of Kerala) and I was initially the sole one. I really appreciated Exodus holding back booking my flights until others had booked as I didn’t want to be alone. As it turned out we were like a little family with the award winning Biju as our leader and what a fabulous leader he proved to be.
Exodus always delivers the best experiences as described and are extremely helpful in the planning and booking stages right up to departure.

The houseboat and the excellent leader who undoubtedly contributed to the trip being so wonderful with such a widespread experience.

Thoughts on Group Leader
Mohamed was brilliant. He was so good at all aspects, making sure we were given choices when appropriate, booking amazing places to eat lunch, organising everything with no apparent effort. He had so much local knowledge which he imparted readily and was really genuine about his love for country and religion. He was always so very cheerful too. One of the best leaders at Exodus and it's a very high bar.

Thoroughly enjoyed the trip, it was well organised, great itinerary, nice hotels and comfortable coach, and our guide was great.

The elephant safari, whale watching (didn’t see whales but saw so many dolphins up close), white water rafting, meeting local families, all the food!

Prathap was a great leader, very well organised as well as really friendly and engaging, and knowledgeable. He really made the trip a delight.

Visiting Herculaneum, hiking the Path of the Gods, the meals and cooking demonstrations at the hotel the camaraderie with the group and the rapport with our expert guide Roberta.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Roberta made the holiday for us. In my experience of Exodus holidays she has been the best Exodus guide we have had the pleasure to meet. She was completely focused on the group and the week. Although from another region she was very knowledgeable and clearly known and liked by local people. She answered all our questions about the flora and fauna and local sights. Anything she didn’t know she researched quickly for us.

2024 trip - not sure why all reviews have been deleted
Did this trip in 2024 surprised they have removed all previous reviews. Main point that we felt the guidance lacked was the boat trip can only accommodate 12 people in 6 cabins. Anything over this has to sleep on deck and the bathrooms are only available through other people’s 6 cabins which as you can imagine isn’t comforting if you need the toilet at 2am. As the youngest people in the group we felt pressured to sleep on deck which wasn’t an issue initially but as we found out that the boat needed to move through the night it wasn’t possible to sleep. We felt really short changed by exodus and the description of this segment of the trip. Especially after 2 nights of no sleep!

We’re grateful for Catrin taking the time to leave a review. This is a new iteration of Primates & Dragons of Indonesia, which is changed in both itinerary and duration from the trip Catrin went on. This is why old reviews weren’t carried over to this new tour.
We’re sorry that Catrin didn’t enjoy the experience of sleeping on deck and felt pressured to do this. Our trip notes now make very clear that there is a mix of cabin and on-deck accommodation on the boat, and indeed for some people sleeping under the stars is a trip highlight.
The boat will usually never have to move in the night on this trip, but it is the nature of cruise accommodation that the boat may on occasion have to move due to tidal conditions. Group dynamics aren’t something we can control, and we’re sorry Catrin and her travelling companions felt pressured to sleep on deck. Our tour leaders will always be happy to sort an equitable solution if concerns are raised at the time.
We hope that despite Catrin’s disappointment at this aspect of the trip that she had a great time overall.

Thoughts on Group Leader
Stephania was a fabulous tour leader - one of the best I have experienced with Exodus. Her enthusiasm and passion for Maltese culture, and her warm personality helped the group to bond closely, making for a really enjoyable week despite the unseasonably bad weather which necessitated some last minute planning changes. Changes were communicated clearly and Stephania really worked hard to ensure we still had a great experience.
