Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan was the only section of the Silk Road that I had not travelled so this trip was on my bucket list and it met my expectations. We had a lively group. Travelling was fine, as described in the trip notes, and the pace was just right. Hotel accommodation was good with excellent service. We visited all the famous sights, shopped in the bazaars, enjoyed the local food and had fun at the yurt camp. I was impressed by the friendly and enterprising. people. A memorable trip.
Most Inspirational Moment
The Registan in Samarkand at night. Also dancing with a happy smallholder in Khiva and chatting with families on days out at the shrines.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Our leader was excellent. He took the role of general guide, looking after us very well, and was also our guide at each of the sites that we visited. His Engish was the best I have experienced on all my trips with a detailed knowledge of not only his country's history and culture, but also each place that we visited. He kept us amused on bus journeys with stories and was very helpful with local currency.
Advice for Potential Travellers
The trip notes cover what you need to know.

Dolomites, Lake Garda and Venice Ride
A great tour which my wife and I enjoyed immensely. This was our first bike riding tour and were unsure of what to expect but we were very pleasantly surprised. Cant wait for the next one now! The level of skill and fitness required is not high and easily completed by someone who does leisurely social riding. There was a great cross section of people with lots of fun and laughs during the rides, which continued late into the evenings at dinners.
Most Inspirational Moment
Watching my wife who does little riding thoroughly enjoying all the scenery and small historic towns, and the big grin on her face when she completed the tour.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Michele was fantastic and can't thank him enough for the way he led us through the tour. His local knowledge and enthusiasm was contagious (especially for Vicenza!), and he was always up for an early morning ride for those looking for a bit of an extra challenge. His choice of cafes and restaurants was great, along with local wines - "cin cin" (look into the eyes!)
Advice for Potential Travellers
Advice in trip notes is pretty accurate - take your own pedals and shoes if possible as they really do make the difference. Bikes are fine for the type of riding allowing you to have a good look around with ease. Take layers of clothing and a few changes - the weather was variable. Late April early May was cool in the mornings, warm during the day, then cool in the evenings. My wife arranged for an electric bike which suited her perfectly and allowed her to really enjoy the trip

A Taste of Cuba
An apt name for the trip, it gave a taster of several parts of Cuba
Most Inspirational Moment
Seeing/experiencing Havana.
The dinner at the organic farm in Vinales.
Watching the locals salsa dance at a bar in Vinales
Walking around Trinidad
The included dinner at Trinidad
Santa Clara (for the history) and Sancti Spiritus (for a less touristy feel to the place)
Thoughts on Group Leader
Lazaro was knowledgeable and answered all questions honestly
Advice for Potential Travellers
Bring a book/mp3 player as some of the journeys are long.
The sooner you adapt to 'Cuban Time' the easier it is.
Whilst some of the food is a bit bland there are there are some really good meals to be had too

A fantastic way to see Cuba. Beautiful scenery with the chance to see Cuban life as you pass it.
A really good mix of the History, Cuban culture and everyday practicalities endured by all Cubans.
Lovely cycling on well maintained bikes. There was always a person at hand to fix or adjust any problems.
The group were great fun and we spent a lot of time laughing and trying to stay cool in the baking heat. Various tactics of wet clothing and the use of cooling buffs under our head gear. I found the cycling to be perfect for a moderately fit person with a slight disability. I hoped on the bus if I was struggling and was made to feel comfortable doing this.
A really well organised trip. It met my expectations, of course there are always a few problems but that’s enviable when you’re travelling in a different hotel/Casa every night. I enjoyed the Casa’s the best as it felt like we were away from the hotel cliche. Some of the hotels were outside the hustle and bustle of town life. It would have been nice to have been able to swim in the sea a little more than we did but it was a cycling trip.
The food was as I expected. Some of the ingredients were there but their style of cooking Lobster was a shame, they boil it grill it to death. Beef was delicious and the goat ( they label it lamb) was always moist and tasty.
Thank you Team Exodus Cuba

Seeing the Ox ploughing fields as we cycled past.
A trip in a horse drawn taxi in thunder and lightening
How the Cuban people make the best of things
Thoughts on Group Leader
Jose was enthusiastic about his country and cycling.
He was supportive to the group and very helpful with any health needs
Jose was great at breaking the cycling into legs ensuring we knew how many Kilometers before the next water stop.
Our Bus drivers
Haslam, Arial and 2 day engineer were delightful, lovely jolly kind people.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Pick the time of year carefully. Summer starts in May 35 degree heat was at times difficult.
Toilets outside the hotels don't flush often. No paper, soap or water to wash your hands.
Good hand hygiene required, pack Imodium and dioralyte!
Wifi, did not bother. Only available in some hotels and local square. So good to have a holiday without it but if you're addictive you'll have to sit in the squares like a true Cuban.

S+J in Sicily
Everything we could have wished for and more. A good mix of history and landscape.
Most Inspirational Moment
Happening upon a wedding in Cefalu Duomo. Before the brides's arrival on the arm of her father a choir of friends and relatives rehearsed a hallelujah chorale that the sang as the bride and her father entered. The youthful beauty of the bride, her father wearing a suit in which he didn't look comfortable, the swelling choir and the underpinning bass chords of the organ- wonderful!
Thoughts on Group Leader
Salvatore was excellent- a true Sicilian with a passion for his country and a wish to share that with us. His care and attention was exemplary.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Be prepared to budget a good amount for food. I feel that the trip would be improved if all food was included in a trip price. Also some places charge a tourist tax per head.

Jordan cycle
Amazing trip. Petra was so interesting and our guide helped us understand all the history. Jordan was very welcoming and not the dangerous place everyone, including me, thought it would be.
Most Inspirational Moment
Sleeping in the desert and taking early morning shower in middle of such an amazing place.
Thoughts on Group Leader
The group leader was so well informed and made sure we had all we needed - including good advise re how to cope with the hot temperatures. "Warm water not cold!"
Advice for Potential Travellers
Do not be put off by where Jordan is - close to the troubles. You get absolutely no sense of this when u r there.

Walking the Amalfi Coast
Loved the walking experience and cultural immersion. The scenery was drop dead gorgeous. The hotel exceeded our expectations.
Most Inspirational Moment
Either the Walk of the Gods or the waterfall on the walk up to Ravello.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Suzy was an excellent group leader who challenged our group to reach our full hiking potential along with many interesting stories. She went out of her way to try to make sure everyone was enjoying their experience. Her love for the Italians wore off on the rest of us.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Layers, layers, layers. Higher elevations can be cold, be prepared. Mt. Vesuvius was blustery at the top.

Great trip
This trek is very well organised and straight forward for experienced walkers. The countryside is similar to the Cotswolds and there are few hills and no difficult sections. Our guide was brilliant and the walk was well paced – if you can walk 10 miles a day you can do this trek.
Most Inspirational Moment
Arriving in the old town in Santiago and the service in the Cathedral with the "swinging" incense - even if you are not Catholic you will find this a very special ending to the trek.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Hose was the perfect guide - he made sure everyone enjoyed the trek and managed the pace very well. He looked after those with blisters and dealt with any other problems with great professionalism. You won't find a better guide anywhere in the world!
Advice for Potential Travellers
You don't need heavy walking boots as much of this trek is on lanes or hard surfaces - good walking shoes are more than adequate. Everyone in our group was an experienced walker but the hard surfaces caused the blisters - some walked in strong sandals which worked quite well.

Prague to Budapest Ride
The trip had some fantastic sites along the way with a very good standard of hotels. The itinery for each day was excellent with some great cycling to be partaken with each day offering something for everyones taste. There were a few hills the first few days to be enjoyed or for those that were not ready full support given. The pace was set to the slowest rider and there was no pressure from the group or leader to rush the experience. I would fully recommend the trip to anyone who is interested in medieval architecture and history as the guides take you to some beautiful sites and relay some very intersting facts along the way.
Most Inspirational Moment
There were a few inspirational moments in the trip, the beautiful city of Prague, Cesky Krumlov, Telc, Vienna, the Cathedral in Esztergom and the beautiful Budapest. The ride along the Danube was also very beautiful and not to be missed.
Thoughts on Group Leader
The group leader Johan had an excellent historical knowledge which he was able to pass on where ever we turned up to. He made sure the group were well provided for and made to feel safe throughout. His excellent knowledge of the route brought in some great little coffee and lunch stops at just the right time in local restuarants along the way.
Advice for Potential Travellers
I would recommend taking an extra day at the start and end of the trip or an early/late flight so that you get to explore Prague and Budapest more fully as they are both beautiful cities with a lot to see.
