A great introduction to Vietnam
This was my first trip to Asia and the itinerary was excellent. We visited 3 main places Hanoi, Hoi An and Ho Chi Minh city. All very different but fascinating in their own ways. The trips to Halong Bay and the Mekong delta we’re also fascinating and very different. The Mekong delta used basic boats and Halong Bay boat was very comfortable with excellent food and service. We also had a great visit to cookery school where lesson was presented very well and with great humour. The visit to Angkor wat was fascinating and more impressive than anticipated. A great introduction to Asia
Most Inspirational Moment

Both tour leaders were good
Advice for Potential Travellers
Was glad your reviews mentioned that it is easy and cheap to get laundry done. Saves carrying too much luggage

Title is good.
It’s a very full an encompassing trip. It covers a great deal and involves a lot of hiking, which is really the only way to truly see and appreciate this spectacular country.
Most Inspirational Moment
Many many beautiful views.

Amazing holiday- go now!
Outstanding walking, outstanding hotel, outstanding leaders……. Earlier reviews have said it all! Exceptionally good value, with almost all meals, drinks, snacks and transport provided. The leaders offered inexpensive and enjoyable additional outings to fill the few gaps – for tapas and a chance to explore Guadalest ( the second most visited attraction in Spain) on arrival day: to the coast on the free day; and to an evening barbecue.
Most Inspirational Moment
Striding along the mountain ridges in the spring sunshine. The sunrises from the hotel were awesome too.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Jaime and Jose divided the week between them, which was a bonus. They are both exceptional leaders, with different personalities and areas of expertise. They took great care of us, and were generous with their time and knowledge. ( They are the only people who lead this tour and they stay at the hotel while doing so).
Advice for Potential Travellers
Go now! This tour may not last in its present delightful form for ever. The hotel has been In the same family for four generations and the charming couple now running it will retire fairly soon.

A most enjoyable trip
I would unreservedly recommend this trip. Michael Newcomb our guide was brilliant- enthusiastic and very knowledgeable about the land and the landscape and the flora and fauna and especially the trees and birds of the region.
Our Hotel was comfortable with a terrace and panoramic views and an inviting well maintained swimming pool and Cartouche and Joke were warm welcoming and friendly. The food was excellent and Doug provided back up and the two resident dogs were a delight. The bed rooms were well sound proofed and very comfortable and the residents’ sitting room comfortable and cosy with a log fire in the evenings.
The walks were varied and gave us a great feel for the local landscape. Our day in Seville -one of the great European cities was fascinating.
Most Inspirational Moment
Walking in the National Park
Thoughts on Group Leader
He was inspirational. His background fitting him ideally for this responsible and educational role.
Michael's parents are Spanish but he was brought up in England where he excelled as a sportsman and went on to London University to read History. He possesses a detailed knowledge of the flora and fauna and history of this beautiful country
He possesses excellent people skills and throughout did his utmost to insure our safety and enjoyment of this trip.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Go and enjoy it.

A week in Winter Wonderland
A fabulous, varied week of snowshoeing in the Italian Dolomites lead by the inspirational Sara Bull. If you haven’t used snowshoes or crampons before, don’t worry. If you’re reasonably fit, don’t worry. We experienced a wide variety of weather conditions during our stay at the welcoming Hotel Adler, from warm sunshine to freezing blizzards and our leader Sara selected the perfect trek for each occasion, providing all the instruction, encouragement and support that our group required, regardless of their level of experience and fitness. Her catchword is ‘enthusiasm’ and hers is infectious. If you want to enjoy the Dolomites at their most dramatic and beautiful, then this is the trip for you.
Most Inspirational Moment
I find it impossible to pick an individual moment, as there were so many. But I suppose standing in glorious sunshine enjoying expansive views of some of the most beautiful and dramatic snow encrusted mountains on the planet takes some beating. And fortunately that moment occurred again and again during the course of the week.
Thoughts on Group Leader
I've been on quite a few guided treks over the years, many of them with Exodus. I have generally been very impressed with the group leaders, but none have proved to be as inspirational as Sara Bull. She has boundless energy and enthusiasm, and whilst her levels of care and support for the group know no bounds, she feels more like a member of that group and a friend rather than an employed guide. That is a very difficult feat to achieve and adds immeasurably to the overall experience.
Advice for Potential Travellers
I think Grade 3 is appropriate for this trip, but walking through snow for prolonged periods can be physically testing so, as the trip notes state, it is important that you are comfortable with your own level of fitness. I regularly go hill walking in the Lake District and found the treks to be perfectly manageable.

Amazing experience
Absolutely brilliant holiday. Have waited so long to see Tigers in the wild and this trip did not disappoint. Would definitely go again.
We were so lucky as had good , even exceptional signings in all three reserves. All of our group had sightings some more and better than others , but no one was disappointed.
We also saw a leopard , and sloth bears , jungle cats, and so much more wildlife. The lodges were all good, the food in Penchants being the best, although all were a bit the the same. Breakfasts were on the drive and were a bit uninspired I have never eaten so many boiled eggs. The one day we had samosas was great.
Hotel in Agra good the one in Delhi not so .
The overnight train trip was an experience! enough said!
Most Inspirational Moment
Seeing my first tiger in the wild of course, but also seeing a leopard albeit at a distance.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Krishna was great, very caring and went out his way to help if anyone had a problem.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Take some protein bars for the breakfasts, the morning drives are cold so take layers , also all the drives are dusty so take covers for cameras and something to cover your mouth and nose especially if you have any respiratory issues.
Be prepared for long bumpy drives, and lots of sitting around just listening for any alarm calls and waiting , and be prepared to be disappointed, as you will not see Tigers on every drive, they are elusive, and you may only see glimpses of them through the jungle . Enjoy the rest of the wildlife especially some of the beautiful birds.
Take plenty of tissues , and be prepared for the Indian style toilets . Also remember to just watch the tigers not always through a lenses.

Costa Rica - fabulous
Discover Costa Rica really lived up to expectations
Wonderful wild life and plenty of time to see everything in detail
An incredibly varied country – difficult to do it justice in 16 days but this holiday gives an excellent insight into a wonderful holiday
Unhurried and relaxing holiday
Accommodation – food – wonderful
Costa Rica is very Eco friendly. It’s approach to living alongside wildlife is to be greatly admired and, indeed, the rest of the world should learn from Costa Rica approach
The guide (Héctor) was superb
Costa Ricans are fabulous people – warm and welcoming
Trip notes are accurate
However if travelling from Ecuador to Costa Rica it is necessary to have a Yellow Fever Certificate.
Most Inspirational Moment
Experiencing the birds, iguanas, monkeys from the boat in the lagoons.
On a night walk in the jungle listening to the nightlife with the torch turned off - drinking in the noise of the frogs, insects etc. was magical.
Swimming in the pool at the bottom of the waterfall surrounded by high cliffs and amazing forest vegetation
Watching the humming birds.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Hector was wonderful.
Having been on several Exodus trips I can honestly say he was The Best.
Knowledgeable - interested in the people on the trip. Eager to learn and Europe as well as imparting information to us.
He had a great sense of humour
He wanted me make out time in Costa Rica special and memorable and he succeeded
Advice for Potential Travellers
Take plenty of spending money. The meals out can be expensive.
All the extra activities are great - do them ALL - but budget accordingly
If travelling from countries other than the UK check the requirement for a Yellow Fever Certificate. This is required from travelling via Ecuador

Maximum Everything !!
Absolutely loved this trip and would definitely recommend it to anyone who doesn’t mind a little bit of graft for a whole lot of fun!!
First of all, we had a cracking bunch of lads looking after us and they played a major part in creating a very enjoyable experience. Suresh was our main man and he was faultless in coordinating everyone to be where we needed to be, when we needed to be there. So many times above and beyond his call of duty throughout the trip to ensure extra activities were expertly organised and helping several of us who stayed on after the trip with travel arrangements etc.
Sri Lanka proved to be far more than I expected; – the culture, lush verdant landscapes, golden beaches, bird, reptile and animal life and of course the people. Suresh’s huge enthusiasm for his homeland was evident in all aspects and he obviously made sure we were treated like royalty wherever we went.
The cycling was tough, even ‘brutal’ in the heat and humidity but descents through beautiful valleys and riding the backroads through villages, fields and forests was a real pleasure, our team made sure we had plenty of fruit, snacks and drinks to keep us going.
A major plus on this trip for me was the minimal bus transfers and cycling hotel to hotel
Most Inspirational Moment
The wildlife which cropped up at almost every turn.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Suresh was brilliant
10/10 thank you for sharing your country with us, laughs, banter and great memories all the way.... "maximum damage, probably"
Advice for Potential Travellers
Sunscreen and sleeves, the sun is very strong, factor 50 didn't stop sunburn. Keep a small bag for easy access on the bus with a towel, shorts and T shirt in case of a heavy shower.

Not recommended for complete beginners
The trip was enjoyable overall, but as a complete novice to skiing, I struggled. Almost everyone in the group had some experience of either cross-country or downhill skiing, and the pace of the group was understandably set by them. As such, those of us with no experience had to learn very quickly, and I could have done with more practice and training before heading out on the less basic routes. The end of the week in particular was very tough.

This is a good trip for people with some experience of skiing or for those that can learn quickly.
