Great mix of cycling, fabulous views and towns
This was a lovely trip with lots to see in each of the stunning towns. We only passed through Soave (on the bikes of course) but we had a good extended break there for exploring!
Lunch stops and coffee breaks were fabulous. Plenty of time for a decent lunch and a cheeky drink… or two.
The cycling is a great mix of hills and cycle track, with a couple of decent climbs followed by some nice downhill switchbacks (views at speed) to reward your efforts!! Obviously it was everyone to their own pace. No pressure to ride fast or slow.
There was plenty of opportunity to explore each of the beautiful towns, before and after dinner. Our guide was always happy to offer a much needed post dinner walking tour. The restaurants were all great so there was plenty to walk off! I’d happily go back to any of the towns to spend more time.
The ferry crossing from the North shore of Garda to Desenzano is busy and lengthy. There’s no bar or cafe, and no outside deck options so go prepared with drinks, snacks, entertainment… it’s a long one!!
You lose the bikes and catch the train from Padua to Venice. This made a nice change.. I’d been to Venice previously but only briefly so I appreciated the extra time to explore, and I super appreciated arriving without my sweaty kit on! 🙂 It was a great way to spend the last full day.
I highly recommend this trip.
Most Inspirational Moment
It’s hard to say, as I enjoyed this trip from start to finish. I especially enjoyed the views cycling down to Garda.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Our group leader was fabulous. Enthusiastic, energetic and passionate about his home town and country. Very knowledgable and full of stories.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Only the tip about being prepared for the ferry crossing, as mentioned in my summary notes. Take drinks, snacks and something to read or play ... there’s nothing on there!

Exhilarating trip
Will be an unforgettable trip for me..watching. the live volcanoes was out of this world…while I knew it was a volcanoes trip rightly or wrongly I didn’t expect that we’d see live volcanoes (thought it would be a big bonus if we did)..and of course the Gods had it all planned for us as Etna erupted too while we were there!.
Most Inspirational Moment
Climbing up Stromboli
Seeing eruption on Etna- what timing and luck.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Alessandro was an excellent leader with good local knowledge that helped vary the itinerary sometimes eg taking a private boat rather than hydro foil
Advice for Potential Travellers
While marked moderate in its level of challenge the walks up strombolli and Etna are relatively challenging. Some hill walking and gluts exercise wouldn't go amiss.

A glimpse of Ancient Egypt.
Visits to the Pyramids & Sphinx , Luxor, Edfu, Kom Ombo Temples, Valley of the Kings and Abu Simbel. Cruise down the Nile river.
Most Inspirational Moment
The whole tour was special. Visiting the sites of Ancient Egypt. None to be missed.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Our group leader 'Tefa' was brilliant. His knowledge as a guide was superb. He was reliable, patient and helpful.
Advice for Potential Travellers
It was very hot in may/june 46c. plus so my advise would be to go at a cooler time if possible. Keep well covered up. Have upset tummy medication with you just in case. Take at least suncream 50. Its easy to change your money when you are there rather than before you go. Have a great time.

Cycling through the Baltics
The trip was well organised and the leader was excellent. The bikes were disappointing. The bikes were new and in excellent condition but they were very heavy and had only 8 gears and were not to the standard I have experienced in previous exodus cycling tours. In addition neither the guide nor the driver were experienced mechanics which resulted in one of the experienced cyclists on the tour helping out.
Most Inspirational Moment
The places we visited could only have been found through local knowledge. The smoked salmon lunch was excellent and every member of the tour party commented on this lunch for days afterwards. The tour around Vilnius was also excellent.
Thoughts on Group Leader
He was very good and knowledgeable on the history of all 3 countries visited. He was enthusiastic and helpful throughout the trip.

Cycling and Chianti
A well organised cycling holiday with excellent accommodation, encouraged to gel as a group in both cycling and eating experiences and enjoy the wonderful scenery en-route.
Most Inspirational Moment
Probably surviving the 25% incline up to the wine tasting experience! Otherwise experiencing the IL CAMPO and walking around the Fort and Garibaldi memorial in Sienna.
Thoughts on Group Leader
An excellent leader with good local knowledge and mixing with the whole group.
Advice for Potential Travellers
The trip is rated as "Moderate" cycling ability but some of the "undulations" require a good level of fitness, but for encouragement there is usually a gelato reward at the end.

Great way to explore Croatian Islands
This was a great holiday with some challenging hills but no time pressure to get up them! The weather was awful for much of the week which was unexpected and made for some difficult cycling. However, we were well supported by our leader, Dino, and driver, Jadran, and never felt that we had to cycle in the rain if it was too dangerous. Some of the rides were a little short for a Grade 3 holiday but overall there was plenty of good cycling and time for sightseeing and swimming at the end of each day. There were lots of short ferry rides to add variety to each day and not too much time was spent on the bus.
Most Inspirational Moment
The cycling part of the holiday started with a long climb on the island of Hwar, it was a steady hill and the whole group made it to the top for a nice lunch of traditional Croatian food. This was the first of many hills and gave a flavour of what was to come. The scenery was spectacular throughout the trip when we could see it through the driving rain!
Thoughts on Group Leader
Our group leader, Dino, was excellent. He was sociable and quickly got to know all members of the group. He organised the group in a laid back way so that not much time was spent on briefings but everyone had all the information they needed about the cycling each day. On the optional day he lead a small group of us on an additional ride which included some tough climbing. This was much appreciated as the suggested optional itinerary had been cancelled due to the weather. Our driver, Jadran, cold not have been more helpful and was a very careful driver.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Take plenty of wet weather gear even if you are expecting sunshine.
None of the hills are too steep, easily manageable for most cyclists.
The handlebar bags are spacious but not waterproof, take a dry bag to line them with.

Amazing Albania
So many ‘oh wow’ moments as I was riding through Albania. Beautiful country to cycle through with the first half of the trip more rural, snow capped mountains, lakes, gorges, warm friendly locals giving you a wave as you them passed by, through to the second half of the trip being more coastal, spectacular views of the Albanian Riviera across to Corfu, pretty coastal towns and the stunning blues of the Mediterranean Sea. Albania is definitely not flat but each day was different and equally enjoyable.
The quality of the food was a real delight – delicious!
Most Inspirational Moment
Completing the last and most challenging day and enjoying the camaraderie of the group. We had lots of fun and laughs! Really enjoyed the afternoon at the hot springs as well, incredible setting.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Erlis and Tani were both exceptional. Very supportive, knowledgeable, helpful and above all fantastic at their job! Very impressed.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Just go! But get in some training before you go, ideally a few hills so you are saddle ready.

Get there as soon as you can!
Walking the Prosecco Hills was amazing from start to finish….I found it hard to leave when it was over! Our tour leader, Vania, is such a great young woman – she couldn’t do enough for us, always had a smile on her face and boundless energy and got along so well with everyone in our group. This was my first experience of a walking holiday and now I’m a convert! I found the walks pretty challenging but that served to make me feel that I had really achieved something when I’d finished each one. We had quite a few experienced walkers in our group which I thought might be a bit intimidating, but they were all wonderful people who were happy and willing to share their knowledge, experience and helpful tips to assist the novices amongst us along the way. The whole area is just beautiful…gorgeous scenery even in pretty average, rainy weather and it hasn’t been discovered yet by large hordes of tourists! The prosecco was plentiful and amazing and the food….heavenly!!
Most Inspirational Moment
Triumphantly reaching the end of our incredibly long and mostly uphill trek in the heart of the Prosecco Hills, dealing with the driving rain, fighting the streams of water flowing down the hill underfoot...our destination? The Bar with no Host and the holy grail, the Prosecco vending machines!
Thoughts on Group Leader
Vania De Paoli is an absolute credit to Exodus! She is a pleasure to spend time with, helped everyone (with grace and a can-do attitude) as much as she could with anything they needed, looked after us all and was sad to leave us a bit early to head off and lead the Chianti Walking tour. She inspired and encouraged us all to keep going when things got tough and she was the social glue that helped our whole group get along so well and enjoy our week together. Can't wait to go on another 'Vania' tour soon!
Advice for Potential Travellers
Just go, as soon as you can! This area is still undiscovered, stunningly beautiful and the prosecco and food of the whole region is just divine!
