Botswana & Zimbabwe Lodge Safari

Excellent trip, well organised and a suitable number of travellers. We have. Travelled with Exodus many times and appreciate the quality of on site staff.

Most Inspirational Moment

There were continual amazing things to see and do. The combination of games drives and walking safaris was excellent and the variety of animals seen surpassed expectations. Overnight camping and travel by Mokoro dugout canoes in the Delta was well organised and another amazing experience. The differences in landscapes added to the overall experience. Accommodation was comfortable and well chosen overall.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Very caring and conscientious. Nothing was too much trouble. He shared his knowledge about the animals, landscape and countries generously and with thought and consideration.

Hiking the Dolomites

Everything was great. The options of 3 or 5 level hikes, the private transfers that cut down on the long waiting for public buses and made us feel safe on the mountain roads, the selection of hikes, the kindness and helping tips from Jenny and Rob, getting to experience both as hike leaders, the exceptional hotel staff, delicious food… all was wonderful

Most Inspirational Moment

Learning from the hike leaders (poling skills, plants, so much!), Jenny and Rob. Gorgeous surroundings! Personalized care from the hotel staff (food preferences). The guides got us to the most wow factor places no matter our abilities. We lived the others in our group also and the option to mix levels each day so we often hiked with new people.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Jenny was AMAZING. She was very knowledgeable of the area and hiking in general. She was kind and funny and patient and challenged us to try new things. She helped us work together and allowed us to go at our own pace. Rob was also very good - although we only did one hike with him - and added a lot with his geology knowledge.

Breathtaking

An epic adventure full of jaw dropping moments & experiences: Desert to ancient cities, mountains, museums & a whole lot more. The scale, size & beauty of the architectural monuments alone is spectacular. An unforgettable(but tiring) trip..the people are very friendly, the food is plentiful & cheap compared to the UK & the artisanal crafts just exquisite. Be prepared for a tiring first 2 days especially, as jet lag will ‘get’ you & overall I think the trip should be re-classified as Moderate as their isn’t much down time at all & the middle 3 days (Home stay, overnight train, Yurt camp ) with a long minibus drive on extremely bumpy track is quite exhausting. Pack as light as you can (make space for taking some of the amazing textiles home)& comfortable travelling clothes. Take dollars & change them when you get there (not everywhere takes cards or dollars-Uzbek Som preferred). I do think that Exodus should review the itinerary if possible as the long road trip on very bumpy track was tough & we had a full size coach into the Homestay when 2 Mini buses would have been better as the coach really struggled to get through the narrow roads. Does the final section from Bukhara to Tashkent have to be by train??Travellers be prepared for long presentations by the Tour Leader when you arrive at a site (to be honest, these should be shortened as its very hard to take lots of info in when you’re recovering from jet leg). Hotels overall very good . An experience (or hundred) for a lifetime!!

Most Inspirational Moment

Too many to single out but the friendliness of the Uzbek people stood out for me, just as much as all the incredible UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Excellent.

Advice for Potential Travellers

As above

Fantastic Scenery and Guide!

Marijo helped make this trip an unparalleled joy and success. The amazing scenery of the Adriatic Coasts coupled with his expert knowledge of local places crowd avoidance made this a fantastic trip.

Most Inspirational Moment

The swing at the top of the huge climb on Hvar Island, day one. The views were incredible and joy at finishing so rewarding!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Marijo was an unparalleled leader and big personality. He was well known and liked by folks at restaurants and lodging everywhere we traveled. He cared for every detail of our trip and anticipated every situation to maximize our experience. He gave us great history and prep tips as we went along.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Get an e-bike—it’s a lot of climbing. Ask for Marijo—none better for this trip!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Outstanding tour leader!!! Tiziano went out of his way to add some 'extra' stops along the way. He organized several group dinners which was a fun way socialize with the entire group. He was extremely helpful when my cousin fell ill and arranged transport to our next stop so she could rest for two days.

Andrius Mazimas was the best. well organised, huge amounts of interesting info. great sense of humour, overall good guy. I recommend him for leader of the year.

Walking in Andalucia

This was my 12th walking holiday with Exodus and it was the best. The scenery is great, the farmhouse where we stayed was wonderful and the food was superb. Best of all our guide Miguel (Mike) was the best I’ve ever had.

Most Inspirational Moment

Every day with Miguel as our guide was a highlight. His knowledge and passion for Andalucia was amazing

Thoughts on Group Leader

Miguel excelled in every aspect of his leadership of the group. He was the best leader i've ever had in the 12 trips I've done with Exodus

Essential Peru

Walking in North Cyprus

This is the second Exodus trip I have been on and both times, I have met a lovely, diverse group of people. The accommodation, the walks and the guide have been first rate.

Most Inspirational Moment

Meeting such lovely people.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Gizer came across as being laid back and mature but young at heart. He was particularly helpful when it transpired that one of our group had left their phone at the hotel when they arrived at the airport for their flight home.

Whales & Bears of British Columbia

This trip was called Whales & Bears and it delivered, I saw Whales and Bears multiple times, some very close too, 30/50 meters away

Most Inspirational Moment

Seeing a Black bear chasing salmons in the river, then casually sitting in the water to take a rest and seeing half a dozen of Whales in Victoria, some very close to our boat

Thoughts on Group Leader

Ran the schedule in a military fashion, which is needed for such big group and so many activities, Sabrina was brilliant!
