Great adventure and my first trip to Africa. Starting in South Africa with good wine and penguins, onto Namibia seeing the second largest canyon in the world, ancient cave paintings and sunrise at the Sossusvlei dunes. It’s a great trip if you are no rush and limited by time. Sit back and enjoy the scenery go by. Extend your trip both at the beginning and end. There’s lots to do in Cape Town and many adventure activities to try in Victoria Falls. Wildlife in Etosha and Chobe was incredible. Abundance of zebras, giraffes, elephants and special spottings of cheetahs, lions. Kanoeing on the Orange river and the mokoro ride in Botswana were also special things to mention. The long drive days are a small sacrifice to see all there is on the itinerary!

Fish River Canyon
Fish River Canyon Trips
In the far south of Namibia, the stupendous Fish River Canyon carves itself into the earth. It’s the largest canyon in the southern hemisphere, and arguably second only to the Grand Canyon in terms of size. At 160km long, up to 27km wide and over 500m deep, only the Blue Nile Gorge in Ethiopia rivals it for second spot.
Approaching the Fish River Canyon from the north is like arriving from space. The otherworldly landscape breaks up into a series of cliffs and boulders as the river meanders along below. The views from the rim are spectacular, and our Fish River Canyon tours make time for a walk alongside it in the afternoon, to be rewarded by superb sunset views.

Anna Lastuvkova Cape Town to Victoria Falls – Hotel/Lodge
Helen Burrell Victoria Falls to Cape Town – CampingWe had a most enjoyable 3 weeks on this trip, and made friends on our group of ten. The camping was work, putting up our tents (with help, thanks, you know who you are !). We stayed two nights in most places, 3 in Etosha. Very early morning starts, breakfast at 7 with tents down on moving days. It was dark, and cold! However, the tents were very comfortable with beds and mattresses, and we slept really well. The food was delicious and plentiful. After long days driving, our guides turned in and cooked for us. The breakfasts were delicious too.
Cindy Hallsten Cape Town to Victoria Falls – Hotel/LodgeThe adventure was amazing. Small group of 11. Everyday was so different from the last. I really liked driving through the countries even though sometimes the roads weren’t the best (was prepared for that). The wildlife we saw was beautiful! The hotels were fine.
