The southernmost state of Mexico, Chiapas is a fascinating mix of cool highlands, coast and tropical forest. Some of the most dramatic landscapes in the country are found here – top of the list is the magnificent 1,500m-deep Sumidero Canyon. Chiapas is also home to many of the finest sites of the Mayans and there’s a unique cultural mix here, of modern Mexico and the beliefs of the people who lived here before the Spanish arrived. This is best witnessed in San Cristóbal de las Casas, a delightful town high in the hills, which we visit on our Chiapas tours.

M B Mexico: Maya, Aztecs & ConquistadorsCovered a large amount of Mexico , lots of historical sites of varying sizes and complexity. Mini bus rear seats unusable ( thats 4 seats ) until some pillows were purchased to assist in sitting upright, visibility from the rear seats was severely restricted. We operated a voluntary rota system which most people complied with. Differences between various cities afforded multiple perspectives of passage through time of various civilisations.
