Many of our cycling itineraries in Europe and across the world now have the option of upgrading to an e-bike. A few trips even come with them as standard, such as this cycling adventure between Puglia and the Amalfi Coast. An e-bike is similar to a regular bicycle, with the addition of a battery-powered ‘pedal assist’ to give you a boost when you need it.

Easy to use, e-bikes have become more popular for the daily commute, but they are equally valuable for cycling holidays. Taking the strain out of consecutive cycling days, e-bikes ensure your holiday is just that, a holiday!

If you need a little assistance on daunting hill climbs or you’d simply like to take things more leisurely, then consider opting for an e-bike. These electric-powered cycles are emission-free and can really level the playing field on a cycling trip. Opting to ride one could make a specific trip more suitable for friends or partners with different fitness or experience, or make a tougher route a more realistic proposition. You can choose to use the battery power as much or as little you wish and having it there as a backup just gives you that extra confidence to enable you to enjoy your cycling trip.
