A great holiday, Liz was fab. Be prepared for some serious walking if your not a regular walker up & down hills on rough ground. All in all a great time with a great group of people & lovely accommodation. Would definitely recommend.

This was a very well organised trip and the views through the whole trek were absolutely amazing. The walking was sustained and sometimes challenging, but super staff support, campsites, food and regular stops at refuges through the day means the days were never too tiring.
It was nice to have two rest days and to eat in restaurants a couple of nights – these ‘special touches’ were appreciated and I’m sure they added to the success and relaxed feel of the holiday.
Camping out every night made the trip really special.
Near the end of the trip, we reached 'the Trico challenge' -a stiff climb to a col, which our leader perfectly introduced to us as the toughest climb of the trip. He challenged us to challenge ourselves for the ascent, so as a group we stormed - at our own best speed - up the mountain. We all met the challenge and it was fantastic to sit up the top together with some mountain sheep, feeling triumphant in the sun with the most amazing views.
Our leader was extremely competent and had a very good approach to managing the group and leading us safely and happily so that everyone enjoyed the walks at their own pace. He had a great way about him and really helped make the trip the success it was. The support staff were also attentive, caring, efficient and provided for all our food needs, and more, perfectly.
Being a camping trek, you are up and off early so need to be quite organised and ready for a wee burst of activity first thing as you wrestle your pop up tent into its bag, get breakfast and packed lunch etc ready. The days themselves, though, are relaxed and although they can be long, are perfectly interspersed with regular stops along the way to refuel on local, homemade goodies at amazing mountain refuges along the route. Walking poles were really useful and think about taking two camping towels in case it's raining and one gets wet -the warm shower at the end of the day was worth having a dry towel for!
As always with Exodus this was an amazing trip. The scenery, the hotel, the people, I could not fault one element of it. The Hotel was clean and tidy and the staff were very friendly and very proud of their establishment as they should be. They have their own gardens and fields so we had fresh produce everyday cooked to a high standard.
It has to be the scenery, it was spectacular. The best walk was the walk of the gods, it was absolutley beautiful. It was also a great privilege to be able to stand at the top of vesuvius. Pompei was stunning and I'm amazed at the hard work and attention to detail the experts have put in to this for the rest of the world to admire.
The group leader was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and attentive. He made sure everybody was happy at all times.
There are quite a few steps so if you do have problems with knees then walking poles will be a great help. The only other advice I can give is to book this trip as soon as poss as you will enjoy every minute of it.
Good walking in the Rodopi hills -Derbyshire on a larger scale (but with a lot more trees).
The walks were a little "samey" as many of the individual views are masked by the extensive conifer plantations but the viewing platform from St Elijah (Sveti Iliya) Ridge on Day 6 gave an impressive and unique aspect and from where we saw wall creepers on the rocks just below and could watch their red flashes in flight. Later the Yagodina Cave was an impressive side attraction.
Very good. Cheerful and willing - mixed well with the entire group. (Danced really well!)
Make sure you take a large lunch box. The food is hearty but dull (a lot of cheese with every meal - especially breakfast!) - I would seriously suggest taking a bottle of ketchup or favourite brown sauce plus a supply of your favourite tea bags if you are not an avid coffee drinker. Beer, wine and coffee is very cheap - your bar bill will be a pleasant surprise!
This was an excellent trip giving an overview of the Croatian coast, some of the islands, plus a quick look at important historical sights.
The scenery, the sea and the islands plus the magnificence of Dubrovnik.
An intelligent likeable man, a good ambassador for Croatia!
Although not a lot of walking is required, comfortable shoes and beach shoes are essential.
An exciting holiday with amazing views on the surrounding area and also on the different walks as well. Our group leader was nice, friendly and a pleasure to be with. The other guests I was with also very friendly and nice to be with as well. Would recommend to anyone as a sole traveller who enjoys leisurely walking as well.
I would say the amazing views on the walk from visiting different villages to the El Chorro gorge and also spending time with the group leader and the other guests as well.
Our group leader (Alexis Gonstaw) - a very nice and friendly individual who was a pleasure to be on holiday with.
Bring plenty of sunblock and also things like cream/tablets for bites and heat rashes. I would also bring a money travel bag to take so that you have a secure place to put your money. Any unessential items I would put in your main luggage
My partner and I choose to use Exodus again having experienced a fantastic trip with an amazing guide to the Anti Atlas in October 2014. However we were very disappointed with this trip; on the first night the tents arrived after us: consequently we all got completely soaked despite wearing our waterproofs; our kit bags when they arrived had not been covered properly and consequently some travellers had wet kit; there was a no toilet tent; the tables and equipment were very poor quality. None of these problems had we experienced the previous year. To add to this the guide was very unfriendly, set the pace at that of the fastest walkers (bad mountain leadership)! To summarise we are very reluctant to use Exodus again; pity after such a good first experience. We are travelling to Nepal in February with a rival company.
Watching the sunrise on Mount Toukbal.
Poor.
Take dry bags to out in the kit bags.
Unusually hot for September.Trainers would have been better than boots as lot of road and gravel walking although I didn,t get any blisters.Very pleasant group of 16 some with Exodus for 1st time.food great. Most meals taken in a group .Camino busy but that meant lots of cafes which we enjoyed.
Finishing the 18 mile day!
He had not walked the Camino before although he had cycled it .Very pleasant
Take trainers as well as boots.
Some fantastic “easy” hill walking around Amalfi.
Joining the hotel staff for cookery lessons. You got a real sense of "joining in" with the family run hotel kithen
I have travelled several times with Exodus & never had a bad tour leader. Emily was one of the very best.
Carry your waterproof coat every day, even though we only needed them once. Not sure boots were required, stout shoes would have been fine.
This was my first trip to this part of the world and went with an open mind regarding the turbulent recent history of the country but what I found was a wonderfully warm, hospitable and friendly country with no hangover from the past.
The walking was truly wonderful with spectacular views wherever you looked, from the magnificent Sutjeska national park where Bosnia’s highest mountain (Maglic) resides along with some wonderful ancient forests to the mountains around Sarajevo and the visit to Bosnia’s highest inhabited village (1469m).
Walking in the Bosnian mountains really is a hidden gem and something anyone that enjoys walking should do before the world finds out about this.
The city trips of both Sarajevo and Mostar were equally a great part of the trip and both city guides were not only informative and knowledgeable but also warm, friendly and answered every question that was put to them.
Meeting the inhabitants of the country's highest inhabited village and having lunch that they kindly prepared for us, the walk to the village was truly spectacular with stunning views wherever you looked, the friendliness and unassuming nature of the villagers was indeed inspirational as it is a tough life living off the land and I can imagine that the winters can be harsh and long!
Samer was a wonderful leader, his knowledge of the mountains was second to none and he looked after the group with patience and encouragement throughout, even on some of the more arduous climbs. He was more than just a leader though, he was a historian always happy to answer any question the group might have, he was an interpreter when we had problems getting out requests across to the locals and at times he was a comedian with his own brand of humour!....... if you get Samer as your guide you can be reassured that you will be in safe hands!
The walking is rather strenuous and a fair bit tougher than we have in the UK but it is easily done with anyone that is a regular walker and the views more than make up for the effort!
