Discover the real Cambodia.

A great trip with huge variety showing you the best of this beautiful friendly and historic country.

Most Inspirational Moment

A visit to the genocide museum showing the shocking brutality of the Khmer rouge regime became the highlight when we met one of the survivors of the prison and spent time talking to him. Un extremely humbling experience that will always be one of the highlights of all my travels where life takes me. The temples of Angkor did not disappoint and the cycling trip around them is a great way to get away from the crowds for a while. Getting up for sunrise is a must to see Angkor watt at it'so best and to get in before it gets too crowded. If you get chance to have an extra day in spam reap it is very easy to hire a tuc tuc to take you back to any temples you want to spend more time at or get to some.of the smaller and quieter templesthat are more atmospheric due to the lack of crowds and the unspoilt nature of these less frequented temples.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Great knowledgeable leader who managed to some how always meet the variety of needs of our group. Always had a smile on his face and dealt with problems (illness, lost luggage, lost group members) without any fuss and bother. Willing to share his and his families experiences of the recent genocide in his country. Always new where to find great food and drink.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Stay an extra day in Siam Reap at the end and get a tuc tuc for your own personal trip around the temples. Take part in the bike rides despite the heat, it's a great way to get out into the countryside and meet the locals and at Angkor a great way to get away from the crowds.

Fun, Fast, Exhilarating, Exhausting and wouldn't change a thing

The most jam packed 10 days of my life. But also the most enjoyable. Every day brought something new. It’s fast and furious so be prepared for moving to somewhere new virtually everyday day. Having said that it’s a truly enthralling trip. Every destination is different providing you with a ton of different unforgettable experiences.

Most Inspirational Moment

There were many but mostly the people! All the different guides we met on tours had a different amazing story. Each bringing a different perspective on life through war and post war. Really made you think and reflect. The guide on the My Son Sanctuary visit was brilliant, his knowledge and story were superb. Also the bike ride around Hoi An and Camp Ping Island gave you a unique reflection of life in the country. Standing on top of an old water mill at the top of the High Van Pass taking in the views was incredible. Walking around the War Museum in Ho Chi Minh City was probably one of the hardest things to do, but amazing.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Huy was an incredible leader. His knowledge was second to none, he gave us plenty of options of optional activities, restaurant options whilst pointing out the best places to go. He always had logistics sewn up, on the road breakfasts, lunches, transportation - the timings were always perfect. An all round lovely guy with a great sense of humour.

Advice for Potential Travellers

We travelled mid-end of February - a rain jacket is useful as it was cloudy most days, some of the group found that the hat + gloves came in handy on the overnight train. Eat everything! The food is amazing everywhere you go. Pack light. There is opportunity to have laundry done along the way and as you'll be moving around virtually everyday it'll be easier if you've packed light. I found using packing cubes in my rucksack a god send!

Excellent trip,quite tough walking in spectacular mountain scenery.The camping was harder than I anticipated.It was very cold and windy at night making it difficult to sleep.

Youssef was very good and seemed to have everything well organised He certainly organised some substantial evening meals and tasty lunches. His english probably wasn't the best but it generally wasn't a problem

Advice for Potential Travellers

Take warm clothing for the nights, and ear plugs in case its windy and the tent is noisy.I was glad to be allocated a tent to myself,I slept so badly it would have been miserable if I had been sharing.

A week in Jordan

A brilliant holiday starting in Amman visiting Jerash which is a huge site full of archeology. Petra another huge site and the walk down the Siq full of interest and then the Treasury comes into view. Climbed up to the Monastery spending all day in Petra. Best was the walk up to the High Sacrifice place. Night visit very disappointing, a bit of a lead balloon after the walk down. Hotel in Petra in a fantastic position but dirty and breakfast not good having to avoid chipped cups etc. The view from Mount Nebo over the Promised Land and all the mosaics wonderful. Loved Wadi Rum, the food, stars and camels. Aqaba interesting and snorkelling good. If it would be possible to fly home from Aqaba it would save the long but not unpleasant drive back to Amman in the tired bus with broken seats and dirty interior.

Wadi Rum - loved it. But the walk over the tops in Petra brilliant - job to choose.

Omar extremely knowledgeable especially in Petra his home town and really did his best for us. Very helpful but he did repeat things a little too much.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Read the trip notes. Cover up against the sun and enjoy the experiences you will surely have

Everything was inspirational starting on Day 2 at Tortuguero National Park where we travelled the waterways seeing numerous birds , crocodiles , baby caymans , monkeys.sloths, iguanas , otters. river turtles and more.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Carlos Calvo was excellent in every way. His knowledge of birds , flora, fauna, local history was exceptional.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Be aware of weather in different areas, It can be 30 degrees with 80% humidity in the Esquinas rainforest with heavy rain so waterproof poncho and sensible footwear essential. The cloud forests can be chilly so sweater and fleece needed.

A great holiday

A really good trip, the walking is fairly easy going as the levadas have only a slight incline/decline. The hardest bit is getting to the start point or descending to get the bus. Sometimes the path is narrow without a handrail but we all managed fine.
The trip is good as it moves around the island. No two days were the same so there was good variety.

Amazing adventure

A great trip to take you on a journey through the Himalayas seeing some breath taking sights.

Most Inspirational Moment

The two highlights for me were summiting Gokyo Ri and crossing the cho la pass. Also I got engaged on an acclimatisation walk over looking macherno peak which was very beautiful.

Thoughts on Group Leader

The group leader was brilliant could not have asked for better. He is very approachable and knowledgeable. He took great care of the group and his advise was priceless, he was very encouraging on the tough days and always had a smile on his face.

Advice for Potential Travellers

I would advise to take Diamox for altitude and also ciprofloxacin in case of stomach upset, better to have it and not need it. I took a small hot water bottle for the night time which was brilliant and the water is still nice and warm to wash your face with the following morning. Snacks are a good idea, you can buy them in the tea houses but they are expensive the further up you go. We had a solar charge which folds up when not us use has about 3 panels on it this was really good you can just attach it to your day pack through the day. Steri pen for the water as it gets to cost a lot if you buy mineral.

Marine Wildlife of the Maldives

We boarded our boat, Felicity, and set off almost straight away for a lovely trip around the islands of the Maldives. They say it is a romantic place and it is but it is also very suitable for any occasion for friends or even singles. There were 11 of us, 5 singles and 3 couples, mostly British. I would definitely recommend doing the Maldives on a boat, as you get to see different islands and you are not just stuck on one island. There are only 7 double cabins so 14 is maximum.

Most Inspirational Moment

We were able to go a long way in search of the whale shark and manta rays and they took us to where they were. The sea was so warm to swim in so you don't need a wetsuit but be careful to put plenty of SPF on the backs of your legs and your back or wear a rash vest. Snorkel gear is provided and it was of good quality AND one of the crew cleans it for you and makes it so the mask doesn't fog up. I've only ever had to it myself before so that was a real luxury. All the crew are very helpful in every way.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our group leader spoke perfect English and was very passionate and helpful in every way. He asked the question that we were strong swimmers and there was one lady who said no so he kept her by his side the whole time, and let her hang on to a ring which gave her more confidence. He took us to all the sites where we would get good snorkelling, see beautiful fish and we also had another crew member with us in case anyone got into trouble. All the crew couldn't have done more to make my holiday perfect and safe. I felt perfectly safe with all of them.

Advice for Potential Travellers

If you are worried about boats/seasickness then this probably isn't for you. The food on the boat was very good if a bit basic and they catered for a lot of fussy eaters (vegetarians etc). Most of the food is fish/rice based. I put on 5lbs in a week so there is always plenty of food, so much so we felt guilty because there was always a lot that went back, hopefully the crew ate well too. Also lots of fruit which was good, nice fruit too, mangos, papaya, pineapple, bananas etc as well as oranges and apples. There was nothing the cook wouldn't do for the fussy eaters.

Good Trip With Lots To See With A Good Guide

Great trip with a busy itinerary. But also a few hours free to do what you want also. Well balanced trip.
Weather was very hot some days and the 5 mile bike ride was too hot for some. Jungle walk was also very humid. Luckily Sigiri Rock was cool that am, but if it had been high 90s weather that am, then that would also be a tough climb for some. Whale watching was an optional extra but it was absolutely brilliant, we saw lots of whales. Being a bird watcher, I counted 83 different species throughout the holiday. Along with 100+ elephants in Kaudula National Park and the whales, the trip had lots of wildlife for people like me to see and enjoy. All in all, a great trip, but if you don’t like the heat, then be aware, that Sri Lanka is a hot country. There are a few early am wake up calls, but was always worth it.

Lastly, the guide Sujeeva, was absolutely brilliant. He took us to some amazing restaurants (and family homes) to eat every evening. The Red Snapper on the beach was absolutely stunning. I would recommend this holiday for anyone thinking of going to Sri Lanka.
