Namibian Family Adventurer

Excellent itinerary, perfect group size, nicely balanced mix of accommodation, well organized locally, fantastic guide, fantastic holiday destination.

Most Inspirational Moment

All the obvious tourist highlights TBH. From the kids' perspective, the swimming pools at each stay over! Very refreshing after several hours in a bumpy, dusty bus.

Erastus was a highlight of the trip - everyone loved him. Available, accessible, forever patient - he judged very well when to be involved and when to leave us to our own devices. Not sure if I will get an option later so I must also mention his assistant / the cook. Ruben was a real favourite of the kids despite his more limited English - and we were treated to exactly the right amount of food and choice. It was clear that these two have decades of experience in their roles. Things were so organized that we did not notice it - things just happened to plan. No mean feat in a country like Namibia.

Fantastic week in Romania

A lovely week’s cycling thanks to the ever positive group leader, Cristina and the practical, “nothing is too much trouble” support from Radu in his green van in a beautiful, rural, unspoilt part of Romania.

Most Inspirational Moment

The whole area of Transylvania is inspirational and there were many individual stories that were shared with us of people striving to keep traditions going. It was also brilliant to be part of a great group of fellow cyclists who provided a huge amount of inspiration and support.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Cristina was very positive throughout the week and along with Radu provided lots of information about the culture and the history of the areas we visited.

Advice for Potential Travellers

A few things: Take what you need for the 1st day's cycle in your hand luggage on the plane, if you can. My luggage was delayed as left by the airline at Warsaw from the connecting flight. Food is good and largely what the locals eat, so don't expect "posh food". Lots of variety though, not just pork and beef - we had chicken a few times, beef, pork and trout. As the notes say - get Romanian Lei at the airport - either with your cash (just before arrivals) or from an ATM with a debit card. As most meals are provided in the villages, you wont need much though except for extras (e.g. beer, wine) There are hills on this trip but most are the "long and steady gradient" type so most cyclists will be able to manage them. There are one or two steep hills but don't worry about getting off and pushing your bike if hills are not your thing! The bikes are ok, but seem a bit old so don't expect the quality of the bike you have at home. I found the gear changes were not as responsive as I am used to on my own bike.

Botswana & Zimbabwe Lodge Safari

The trip covered every aspect of what we wanted from a safari. Varied accommodation and the guide and driver were extremely helpful at all times and very well organised.

Most Inspirational Moment

Game drives Walking safari Camping in the Okavango delta.

Onary was great. He explained what was happening and didn’t leave anyone out. He made the trip fun and was very sociable.

Excellent trip!

I just came back a couple days ago from my 5th bike trip ever– this was an excellent one! It’s mostly flat, so the biking wasn’t that hard, but hard enough that I felt I got a great workout every day. Our leader, Lina, was absolutely superb in every way. She organized us and kept track of us beautifully, calmed the waters during stressful situations (our bus broke down on the highway! But we got a new one ASAP), chose FANTASTIC restaurants for us, and told us volumes worth of history in a captivating way. These countries are fascinating, beautiful, quirky, with delicious food, great beaches, stunning architecture, excellent biking paths (it was never scary!), and perfect weather for us (August). Highly recommend!

Most Inspirational Moment

Most of our dinners were with a view-- beautiful!!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Excellent in every way

Advice for Potential Travellers

Definitely bring rain gear-- it rained on 2 of our rides! Not the whole time, but worth bringing something. Do your family research before you come to this area because if you have ancestors from this place, it would be fun to know that!

Mont Blanc Hiking Highlights

Excellent guiding, chalet location, chalet hosts were charming.

Most Inspirational Moment

Day 1 hike and reaching our first peak!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Tim is a highly skilled leader, very thorough, great attention to detail. Prepared our group really well for each hike and shared his extensive knowledge of outdoor activities. The whole group were extremely impressed with Tim and enjoyed his company. He went above and beyond to ensure we all had a great trip. Thanks Tim. FIVE Stars for you!

Southeast Asia Family Adventure

Our tour guides Tam and Sum (Vietnam and Cambodia) were particularly lovely. They were knowledgeable, helpful and great company. They knew great places to visit, to eat and were great at adapting things if necessary (eg tuc tucs home for the teens when we got soaked on the cycle trip). The tip kitty is a fantastic idea and took the stress out of tipping local guides etc. the itinerary looked a wee bit light on first look, but it was excellent. We did so many things and there was truly something for everyone. Sim was particularly helpful with booking activities for us on our free days.

Most Inspirational Moment

Angkor Wat by bike made it really special as did the local guide who looked after us. The homestay in Vietnam was so much fun - we helped cook dinner, walked around the island and enjoyed the comfortable accommodation. Crossing the border from Vietnam to Cambodia was a real experience too!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Tam and Sum were amazing! They shared so many insights into their communities, history and heritage. They always knew where to eat, where to stop for comfort breaks and things to do in each location. They did great briefings when we met and gave us clear instructions every night for the next day.

The Inca Trail

Our guide William was helpful and professional in every way. He and the Exodus staff and porters made the trip a joy.

Most Inspirational Moment

All of the archeological sites were a delight

Thoughts on Group Leader

William was very knowledgeable and very personable. He went out of his way to ensure my daughter was comfortable, safe, and cared for when she became sick on our hike.

Cycle the Baltics

I am always impressed with the customer service. I had a great contact who answered all my questions. The trips are well laid out and organized.

Most Inspirational Moment

We saw so many amazing sights, learned about the history and culture of the Baltics. We had the absolute best guide.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Lina was the ABSOLUTE best. I can't have imagined a better guide. She was so knowledgeable, friendly, funny, and kind, and made each of us feel welcomed. She was cool under pressure and managed a couple of challenges with ease.

Wildlife Paradise for mammals, birds and Reptiles. what an Adventure to a remote and beautiful place

Unlike the dense Amazon rainforest, the Pantanal is more open and flat, making wildlife easier to spot. Over 650 bird species, including hyacinth macaws, Toco Toucans, Greater Rhea, jabiru storks.
Jaguars (we saw Three!) We also saw Capybaras, giant river otters, caimans, tapirs, Coati, Howler and Capuchin Monkeys, Azara’s agouti, tamandua, Crab eating fox to name a few!

Most Inspirational Moment

We were lucky enough to see three jaguars on our departure. the first was lying on the banks in a cooler spot under a tree and sleepy at first like an oversized kitten, she then saw something she fancied eating in the water below and completely changed into the elusive hunter we know her to be. they can keep still for hours and move so slowly and with much precision it was exceptional to witness this behaviour and the respect these creatures demand.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Tony who is originally from the Amazon region has been leading in the Pantanal for over 20 years. His love of the wildlife here transcends through the groups. while we were all using the merlin app to identify the birds Tony was calling to them before they were even seen, Brazil's answer to Dr Dolittle.

Advice for Potential Travellers

The Dry season is June to November. there are less biting bugs during this season but they are still there. they can be avoided by using Deet, long sleeves, long trousers loose fitting and light colours. bringing a warm windproof jacket for the early morning starts is a must when flying down the paraguay river ready for your first wildlife spot of the day

Trip of a lifetime

A terrific experience of seeing wonderful animals close up in their natural environments and enjoying the hospitality of so many people so proud to show their countries to best advantage.

Most Inspirational Moment

Spoilt for choice. There was at least one wow! moment everyday. On balance it had to be the walks in the Delta with KK and his team and seeing so many wonderful animals up close and gaining a real understanding of the importance of the eco system. I know more about termites and poo than I ever thought possible.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Adonia was just fantastic. Passionate, knowledgeable, his pride of both countries was infectious. Always felt super-safe in his hands and his great camaraderie with Gift our fabulous driver made for a great team.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Don’t bother with local SIM cards -coverage is poor and WiFi in lodges was adequate. Three pin South African plugs worked in all accommodation in both countries. Lots of small dollar notes for tipping and smaller purchases. Tipping is expected ( and deserved) everywhere. Flip flops for wearing in rooms where floors are hard and cold. Delta helicopter trip and sunset cruise on last night both exceptional and highly recommended.
