Vietnam Family Adventure

Wonderful holiday in Vietnam. Great for the whole family.

Most Inspirational Moment

Our guide Trang! She added so much to the trip. We learned so much from her about her amazing country. We all especially enjoyed visiting Hoi An and Whale Island.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Trang was the best guide I have had on a holiday. She really wanted us to get to know her country and it was fascinating to learn from her. She went above and beyond to make our experience extra special by taking us to amazing restaurants to try local dishes and adding in extras like going to Train Street in Hanoi. She has a great sense of humour and made the trip so special. I cannot recommend her highly enough :)

Cycling Vietnam

As always, excellent itinerary, organization, tour leader, accommodation, food, – everything really!

Most Inspirational Moment

The cycling was excellent (especially the long downhill sections!); the rest day on Whale Island; being in Hanoi with the preparations for the celebrations; the Vietnamese people; the food.

Thoughts on Group Leader

The trip was definitely enhanced by the tour leader, who I cannot praise highly enough. He was consistently calm, organised, exceptionally helpful, informative, excellent company. He managed the sometimes tight schedule incredibly well, without pushing us and always managing to make us feel as if we had plenty of time for everything (including frequent stops whilst cycling for photos, taking enough time for cycling breaks and lunch stops, etc.) He was always able to answer questions about local culture, language, geography, etc fully and interestingly, and also provided the guided tours of sights and attractions himself without needing to resort to on-site guides. He was always available and sociable for the optional dinners and activities. The whole group was extremely impressed with him. Thank you Loc, for making this trip such a memorable experience!

The Inca Trail & Salkantay Trek

Perfect holiday with a fantastic guide. We were very well looked after on a challenging trek; safety was paramount with our welfare checked daily. The guide was so knowledgeable and painted a vivid picture of inca life. The food was exceptional especially while we were camping at altitude.

Arrival at Machu Pichu through the Sun Gate and staying at a high camp site under a glacier.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Edwind is a fantastic leader who imparted a vast wealth of knowledge about the Inca civilisation. Everything was organised perfectly and we were very well looked after and felt safe at all times. He ensured that everyone was introduced to each other which meant there was a lot off friendly faces on the treck, with great support from the porters and chefs.

BREATHTAKING - LITERALLY!

Ten challenging but supremely rewarding walking days, each ending in comfortable accommodations with ample time to get clean, enjoy fantastic food, rest and recover for the next adventure. Three well-spaced rest days to relax and enjoy the charming towns of Chamonix, Courmayeur and St. Gervais. Breathtaking views of the Mont Blanc massif at all angles in various conditions. Life affirming moments overcoming the Cols (mountain passes). Delightful interactions with fellow trekkers from around the world, and exposure to French, Swiss and Italian cultures. Thrilling optional activities including tandem paragliding (highly recommended) and a visit to the amazing Aiguille du Midi.

Most Inspirational Moment

Crossing the Grand Col Ferret (the highest point of the trip at 8300 feet) in clouds, then descending into the blue -sky beauty of the Courmayeur valley.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Train for this trip - walk daily in the boots you will be wearing. Use trekking poles to save your knees and make descents safer. Invest in good socks (wool with thin synthetic liner socks worked for me - could hand wash quick-dry liners and wear wool outer socks for several days). Bring smaller backpack - only need to carry water, waterproofs, pack lunch, phone, money and sun cream. WIFI available most hotels but consider esim plan for WhatsApp group info and photo sharing.

A great trip overall, good communication about the trip beforehand and then an excellent guide and trip throughout!

The amazing scenery, the fellow travelers on the trip, the guide all made the trip a once in a lifetime experience for me!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Jeffry is an amazing leader! I have been on many prior group trips and he is honestly the most outstanding leader I have ever been exposed to. He was friendly and personable, extremely knowledgeable on topics of health, safety, the natural world and hiking, as well as philosophy, science, photography and many more! It was a joy to spend time with him!

Amalfi Coast Family Adventure

The family tour was wonderful. The itinerary included something for everyone and all three of our children (aged 11 to 17) loved it.

Visiting Pompeii, getting the children cooking in the restaurant, Path of the Gods walk

Thoughts on Group Leader

Severio was brilliant. He got on so well with the children they wrote him a poem! He was helpful in pointing out cheaper restaurants and sorting out transport arrangements for our eldest, who was travelling separately.

Discover Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is an amazing country and our guide, Roshan, was excellent.

Most Inspirational Moment

The festival at Kandy; climbing Lion Rock; the bicycle ride through the village; the beach stay. I also loved the food.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Roshan was an excellent guide. He was attentive to our various needs and made alternative plans when we were unable to walk on the Horton Plains due to rain. I am particularly grateful that he made sure that I not only saw the festival at Kandy but also found us such great seats. I did not know much about Sri Lanka but I am now inspired to learn more thanks to Roshan's informative mini-history talks during our long travel days, which I really enjoyed.

Discover Costa Rica

On arrival in Costa Rica we were received at the airport and transferred to our hotel very efficiently. Our tour guide Carlos was excellent throughout clearly explaining the daily itinerary and enthusiastically sharing his knowledge of the country and wildlife. All accommodation, meals and activities were excellent. with the exception of the Mangroves boat trip which we raised in the local survey. Overall the itinerary gave a very good flavour of the diverse nature of the country and it wildlife. Based on this we would recommend Exodus without hesitation.

Most Inspirational Moment

Seeing a diversity of wildlife and sharing this with the rest of the party and with Carlos and Randall. I particularly enjoyed the warm welcome we received from Aurora? on our visit to her a dairy farm. This was typical of the friendly nature of everyone we met.

Lived up to expectations

We recently completed the Tour, having waited a few years after a ‘covid cancellation’ and whilst being fortunate with the weather (there were high temperatures before our trip and heavy rain afterwards), we enjoyed it immensely. The physical challenge was huge, perhaps not unexpectedly and the scenery utterly beautiful. If I could sum up our experience I’d say that our previous two major treks were in the Himalayas amongst mountains almost twice the height but this did nothing to lessen the majesty and sheer beauty of the Mont Blanc region. Any disappointments such as too much shopping for lunch and a poor hotel experience in St Gervais were minor niggles.

Most Inspirational Moment

Reaching Col du Tricot after the epic climb from Refuge de Miage will live long in the memory, it epitomises my belief that in the mountains, hard work brings rewards.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our leader Agu was as good as any Exodus leader we have had in the past. He was informative, friendly, good-humoured and well equipped with leadership skills. He would also work hard in the background on our behalf, whether providing info on day-off activities or making adjustments to our plans to suit someone in the group.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Train hard and pack for all conditions.

Awesome Fjord Experience

Amazing discovery of the fjords via hiking, cruise, ferry rides and mini-bus travel. The accommodations at Nes Gard and Fjaerland Fjordstove Hotel added to the spectacular hiking. Views of the fjords and farm-to-table food was amazing at both Inns. Each day of hiking was a unique experience ; all of which offered amazing views.

Most Inspirational Moment

Our most challenging hike on the 4th day with picnic lunch at Marifijora, a spectacular view of several fjords.

Flo, our leader, was a great guide. Friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating to all hikers.
