A MUST IF YOU LOVE WILDLIFE

I just completed the Whales & Bears of British Columbia tour and it was incredible. From the first ferry ride to Vancouver Island, I was immersed in wild coastline and ancient rainforest. We spotted humpback whales breaching off the bow and watched black bears comb the shoreline for crabs. A full-day outing to the Orford River treated us to grizzlies feasting on salmon amid misty fjords. The group was small, the guides passionate, and every day brought something surprising. Yes, there were long drives and changeable weather, but it all added to the adventure. I’d highly recommend it

Most Inspirational Moment

I watched a grizzly emerge from the trees and wade into the river, salmon flashing beneath the surface. The air was thick with the scent of cedar and salt, and for a moment, everything was completely still

Thoughts on Group Leader

Sabrina was brilliant, she new so much about Canada and the island and it added so much value

Advice for Potential Travellers

Pack for all weather. Coastal BC can shift from sunshine to rain in minutes — bring waterproof layers and quick-dry clothes. Binoculars and a good zoom lens are worth their weight in gold for wildlife viewing. Be patient and quiet during bear and whale watching — the best moments come when you least expect them.

Absolutely spectacular

This was a truly amazing adventure, Bhutan is a magical place with wondrous scenery and architecture. The people are warm and welcoming and the sights and sounds of the festivals was incredible with the bright costumes, colours and music. The whole trip was well organised and our tour leader was fantastic and so knowledgeable. I knew Bhutan was going to be good but this trip exceeded my expectations, I can’t wait to return.

Most Inspirational Moment

The trek to the tigers nest monastery was a real highlight.

Petra & Wadi Rum by Bike

I have travelled with Exodus many times and I like the format of the cycling trips which balance culture, countryside and cycling very well and the trip in Jordan worked very well in all these respects

Most Inspirational Moment

Obviously seeing Petra was the major highlight but the night in Wadi Rum was very enjoyable and interesting

Thoughts on Group Leader

Very knowledgeable on all facts and figures Jordanian

Iconic Dolomites Hikes

The trip was everything I’d hoped for, the hiking, the accommodation and our wonderful Guide, Anna… she is the best

Most Inspirational Moment

Hard to pick, each day was a surprise and wonderful memories created

Thoughts on Group Leader

Anna is a gem, such an asset to your organisation. She went above and beyond to ensure everyone was comfortable, supported… could not ask for more 10 out of 10 to Anna

Highs and lows

There was a lot of bus/ travel time on this journey. Given that, I felt that some days were very poorly planned.
Examples:
One day all we did was cross the border to Turkmenistan. We started at 1:pm and it took 2 hours. The next day there was a six hour excursion to a UNESCO site. Then back to the city for lunch. Then another 5.5 hour drive out to the gas crater. Obviously the UNESCO excursion could have been done the previous afternoon if we would have crossed the border in the morning. Then we would have arrived for sunset at the camp. Instead we were driving in the dark on a very poor and dangerous road, arriving stressed. As an aside, some passengers got bed bug bites at the camp.

The day we arrived in Uzbekistan we had been travelling for 9 hours. All we wanted was our hotel, a drink and some food. Sergi proceeded to say we had to go to the summer palace and a silk factory that night. The whole group was fed up and we did not enjoy either one. These activities were scheduled for the next day.

Anyway there were many days like this; it was agreed by all that we would prefer to get to our hotel in the late afternoon in order to unwind and perhaps explore on our own. There was no need for so many late check ins.

Most hotels were adequate. I did not have high expectations. Rooms were clean and comfortable. However, the breakfasts were horrendous. Cold food, empty buffet trays, very little offered.

Most Inspirational Moment

Seven lakes Tajikistan was stunning. Cities of Khiva and Bhukara were great.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Ocsana in Kyrgyzstan was friendly, sweet and helpful. Our Turkmenistan guide was very good. Very engaging. Simple straightforward information. I have forgotten his name! Sergi in Uzbekistan/ Tajikistan was very poor. He prattled on for hours, talking very loudly into a microphone while driving in the bus. Reading page after page of statistics, history etc from his iPad. Completely vacuous that most of us were wearing noise cancelling headphones to block it out. After spending 4 hours in a bus we would stop at a market and he would announce : go to the toilet and you can look around for 12 minutes!! Yet we would spend 90 minutes at a horribly busy lunch spot with poor service and long waits.

Advice for Potential Travellers

The travel times are way longer than what’s stated. Be prepared to see a ton of mosques mausoleums. Some ancient sites were not worth the drive. I wish there would have been more natural sites or cultural activities vs so many historical sites. For instance passengers in our group organized an archery and falconry demonstration. And another arranged a viewing of a game of “goat polo”. Neither of these things was on the itinerary but were refreshing and fun.

Reply from Exodus

We’re grateful to Nickey for leaving a review, and we’re glad she found Seven Lakes in Tajikistan to be stunning and enjoyed the cities of Khiva and Bukhara. It’s also great to hear that our guide in Kyrgyzstan was friendly, sweet and helpful, and that our Turkmenistan leader was engaging and effective.

We’re sorry that the pacing and amount of travel time on certain days detracted from Nickey’s experience – this is a full on trip covering five countries in a relatively short period of time but we’ve acted on this feedback and have revised the itinerary to reduce long road journeys and improve the flow of the trip: the visit to Kunya Urgench now takes place on the day of the border crossing from Khiva into Turkmenistan (so sightseeing isn’t pushed into the evening), the gas crater has been removed because the flames are diminishing and it’s no longer the highlight it once was, and, crucially, the poor‑quality road section to and from the crater has been eliminated and replaced with a flight between Dashoguz and Ashgabat. We’ve also added a train journey between Samarkand and Bukhara to bring more variety and cut back a road transfer.

We’ve noted Nickey’s comments about breakfasts. Hotels in Turkmenistan offer limited morning options, so for 2026 we’re arranging for the leader to carry fruit on the bus for anyone who’d like something extra alongside what’s provided at the hotels.

We also recognised Nickey and her group’s the desire for more cultural and nature‑focused moments alongside the rich history. An eagle‑hunting demonstration is now included in the trip, adding hands‑on local culture to complement the historical sites.

We hugely appreciate Nickey taking the time to share such detailed feedback about this itinerary. We’re glad she found there to be some really memorable highlights, and we appreciate the candid suggestions that have directly shaped improvements we have made to the trip for future travellers.

Essential China

Our guide (Dragon) was excellent! He was knowledge about the history of each place we visited and shared very insightful things based on his own experiences. He was also super good at keeping the group together and on time.

Most Inspirational Moment

The Great Wall, Terracotta Warriors, Pandas, the Bond at night we all spectacular, but there was a ton of smaller things to experience in each city that really gave us a feel for each place and what made them different/special.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Dragon was excellent in every way. He was super organized and every transfer went smoothly. He made extra effort to organize things for us in our free time and he always took time to point-out little things to help us understand the local customs and traditions. He was also handled the various personalities in the group well and was always super helpful. I also appreciated his sense of humor and that he shared his experiences growing-up in China.

India’s North & South

This was my third Exodus trip and as previously, Exodus provide a great service, arranging everything and providing excellent information both before and during the trip, so that you know exactly what to expect. Tour leaders can be relied upon to manage all situations and local guides are interesting and informative. Exodus explores a wide range of locations in interesting and imaginative ways.

Most Inspirational Moment

Old Delhi, Taj Mahal, Jaipur, Periyar, were fabulous but everyday had its own highlights. The landscape, watching a very different world go by, even the travelling was great.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Interesting, informative, very organised and patient. He organised everything seamlessly but still managed to be fun to be with. He became very much part of our group.

Cycling the Cape and Winelands

I can’t tell you how enjoyable this trip was. We were 8 people in the group, as well as our brilliant guide Ado and the excellent driver Gavin. So much work went into making this trip just amazing. Everything worked out just perfectly, we had no punctures or problems at all. Ado’s knowledge of South Africa and its history was incredible as well as the entire continent. The group all got on well with one another and we stayed at some really nice hotels along the way. The only thing is I wanted to do it all over again!

Most Inspirational Moment

Watching a whale come up to our boat and just hang out there!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our team leader was Ado, he was just amazing. Knew everything about South Africa, its history, geography, politics, wildlife..he is an encyclopaedia of knowledge and he has great dress sense too! I'd also like to mention how great Gavin the driver was, he did a lot more than just drive. He helped out with all the bikes and spent time talking with us and helping us enjoy the trip.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Just book this, you won't be disappointed!
