Jordan in a week
The trip started out as a bit of a disaster as Royal Jordanian airways had to divert to Cairo, due to the current situation between Israel and Iran. That couldn’t be helped . Upon arrival in Amman 12 later, we were met by an Exodus rep.
Because time had been lost there was a lot of catching up to be done.
Out tour guide Mikhled had made some very sensible decisions , and although it had been a very long 36hours, from leaving home, we went straight to some of the most wonderful sights as soon as we got to the hotel.
So in fact, we didn’t miss out on anything because of the diversion.
The hotels were clean, friendly and catered for all our needs. They were centrally located too.
The distance between some locations was a lot, but the coaches were air conditioned and lots of stops on the journeys.
There was only 8people on the trip, and it was great, as everyone got along really well.
Evening meals were not included, however Mikhled, gave us lots of options . being a vegetarian was a bit hit and miss at times, but the starters made up for the main meal. Mikhled took us to some family homes for dinner, and that was very special.
Petra , the main attraction was very quiet due to the “Middle East” situation, which made it all the more enjoyable . It was very hot, so not being busy was ideal. Lots of free time on both days there . Mikhled never rushed us.
The Dead Sea wa amazing, if not a little weird. It certainly needed to be done. A half day of relaxing at The Red Sea was welcomed.
The holiday Inn was amazing, I had the luxury of a “Sea View” room, which was amazing .
Bethany beyond The Jordan was very special to me, however slightly marred by the Military , carrying firearms in such a holy place.
Understandably, as Israel was a stones throw away, but it did ruin it for me.

Thoughts on Group Leader
He was amazing. He went above and beyond to help us all, and I left a very special water bottle at Petra, and he used so many contact to get it back. If you get
Mikled as a guide, then expect the best
Advice for Potential Travellers

Challenging trek around the Mont Blanc Massif
This camping trek was challenging with many beautiful vistas. The mornings were busy so that we could start moving by 7:45 or 8:00. We had many 1000 meter accent days with similar descents. Our weather was hot most days which added to the challenge. We sometimes used lifts to get up or down, especially in the Chamonix valley. Our guide, Egle was very calm with a lovely smile to help us along. Albert, our camp organizer kept us well fed and was always ready to offer any help we needed. We had an excellent group of mostly very experienced hikers. The two nights without showers meant we had to wash as best we could. Overall an excellent experience.
Most Inspirational Moment
Seeing everyone in the group complete the trek.
Thoughts on Group Leader
The group leader, Egle, was excellent. Very fast when required, always looking out for the group.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Train for 1000 meter ascent days and make sure your footwear is good for varied terrain.

Enjoyable, tough trek with amazing scenery
This was a tough but thoroughly enjoyable trip in a very beautiful part of the world. The challenging grade is about right; be prepared for a lot of rocky steep ascent and descent including a fair amount of scrambling and using fixed cables/chains. Some parts (particularly the ascent to La Om on Day 4 and the ridge along the top) are pretty exposed. There is a good mix of tougher and somewhat easier days to break things up with some nice forest and meadow sections. The reward is some amazing scenery in a relatively unspoilt part of the world. The whole trip was very well organised and accommodation at Villa Hermani was very clean and comfortable, with friendly hosts and great food. The mountain huts were a good experience but be prepared for very basic toilet and sanitary facilities.
Most Inspirational Moment
The hike up to La Om was a very long and tough day but on reflection was a great achievement. However, the final day's hike from the second mountain hut to Omu Peak was a great way to top the week off with stunning dramatic scenery and 360 degree views all around, and a mostly gentle steady descent back down to near the town of Bran.
Thoughts on Group Leader
I cannot fault our guide Sebi at all. He was incredibly hard working, friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable and passionate about his country, its history and the local area in general. Aside from being an excellent mountain guide he spent all day with us from eating breakfast with us, driving us around, answering countless questions to eating dinner and socialising with us in the evenings. We stayed on for a couple of nights in Brasov and he gave us lots of suggestions of things to do and more to the point what tourist traps to avoid! We are planning to recommend him for guide of the year!
Advice for Potential Travellers
Decent hiking boots are a must and poles are a good idea for those that find they help on steep descents.
Experienced hikers should be fine but if you have any doubts about your fitness I highly recommend doing training walks Exodus suggest.
The mountain huts are basic; take toilet paper, wipes and hand sanitiser! And ear plugs!

Brilliant Trip
An unforgettable trip from the quiet, laid back Cilento to the vibrant Amalfi Coast
Most Inspirational Moment
The scenery throughout the whole trip is beautiful. The tranquillity and authenticity of Cilento, with its charming fishing villages and untouched coastline, offered a beautiful contrast to the vibrant energy of the Amalfi Coast.
On the free day I enjoyed the hike from Minori to Ravello. It's worth visiting Villa Cimbrone for the incredible views and gardens.
Thoughts on Group Leader
A huge part of what made this trip so special was our tour leader Paolo and support driver Emilio. Paolo is incredibly knowledgeable and organized but also warm, encouraging, and genuinely passionate about the region. His enthusiasm was contagious, and his local insight helped us appreciate every town, every climb and every meal.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Pack for all weather conditions. We had rain and shine in May - waterproofs came in handy.
A good level of fitness is required for the hills and confidence cycling amongst the busy roads of the Amalfi Coast . The trip is extremely fun on an E-bike.

Lots of steps but the views at the top are worth it!
The Cinque Terre and Portofino are famous places so you have to accept they are busy but this trip still gives you lots of time out of the towns walking through the forests and mountain paths. There are a lot of Steps but the views are worth it. I think its a perfect level 3 it pushes you at times (especially in the hot summer) but there is a nice balance of easier sections where you can just soak in the views and take lots of photos!
The Hotel in Moneglia is a great location right across from the Beach, you can get up early for a swim!
The Hotel also has a Jacuzzi and a Wellness Swimming pool – the spa jets are a great way to ease the muscles!
The Resturants in the area are of a really good standard and the guides are great at recommendations!
Most Inspirational Moment
Probably the feeling at the top of every climb! We had 34 degree heat so after every big push it was a moment of celebration and relief - to then just look around you and soak in the views it made it all worth it!
Thoughts on Group Leader
Nico was great fun, very knowledgeable about the area, gave us good alternative walks or options to consider due to the heat. Had great recommendations for the free day and was spot on with his restaurant reservations. He loves a Map! He also wont let you have only one Gelato flavour, 3 per tub is the ideal!
Advice for Potential Travellers
Take atleast 1 walking pole and good ankle support. Take a good sized water bottle there are lots of refill places.
Consider extending your stay, there are so many little towns along the coast and its so easy to use the trains! Or maybe tie in a city break - there are intercity train connections to Florence, Milan, Rome.

Fabulous experience
Fantastic overview of three fascinating countries . I travelled with my husband, and we both thoroughly enjoyed the tour.
Most Inspirational Moment
For me it was wonderful to see how these countries, and in particular the cities, have recovered from an oppressive state during the Soviet domination, in such a short time.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Andrius was a great organiser and really encouraged us to explore us much of the culture as we could in the short time we had. Local food was well explained so we could willingly try it. Andrius had a great sense of humour, and really held the group together. His passion for these countries is clearly seen. It was also very interesting to hear if his life during Soviet times.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Take good walking shoes to ease your way around the cobblestones. Be prepared for busy days, and sudden weather changes.

Memorable trip
Wonderful locations, spectacular scenery, good variety and a fabulous leader!
Most Inspirational Moment
Learning from the leaders vast knowledge and enthusiasm. Views in Durmitor Nat Park were breathtaking and drive down to Bosnia equally stunning, as well as lunch with a local family
Thoughts on Group Leader
Fatima was an exemplary tour leader for me. Her knowledge and outlook on life were inspirational and pretty life changing. She always ensured everyone was comfortable and often surprised us with unexpected treats. The weather was v v hot & she made small tweaks to ensure we didn’t suffer in the heat too much. Along with the group we had, she absolutely made the trip!
Advice for Potential Travellers
Whilst you can use cards, cash is often preferred in many places. We took euros & Fatima took us to an exchange/atm in Sarajevo for the Bosnian convertible marks

Highlights of Albania
Excellent educational historical scenic Albanian journey. Our group leader Ed was extremely knowledgeable and shared stories of living under communism. Our driver Di Di was a joy to be around. Not only was he an excellent driver on the long windy roads but he brought so much fun and joy to our group.

Brilliant trek
This is a fantastic trek – doing it in June meant there was still some snow on the route and lots of wild flowers, including orchids. We camped in some great locations with the most stunning mountain views.
Most Inspirational Moment
There were lots of 'oh wow' moments as views of Mont Blanc, the Grand Jorrases and other 4000m peaks and glaciers came into view.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Our group leader (Adrian) had extensive local knowledge of the route, the best places to get coffee and cake, the plants, the mountains and glaciers. He was attentive to the needs and enthusiasms of the group.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Read the trip notes! This IS a challenging trek, especially if it is hot. Be prepared to be flexible, embrace the challenge and you'll have a wonderful time.
