Update on trips running on or before the 31st August

We hope you and your family are staying healthy throughout these trying times. 

Ensuring customer safety and enjoyment has been our primary focus since our first overland journey rolled out of London in 1974. As a result we have taken the decision to suspend all travel departing on or before 31st August 2020.

Our expert team is personally contacting all affected customers to discuss options. Please be patient with us and allow us to call you in the first instance. We are calling customers in departure date order, so rest assured we will get to you as soon as we can.

If you have booked via a travel agent, please contact them to discuss your options.

Thousands of our wonderful customers have already chosen to rebook their holiday for 2021. In doing so they have not only given themselves an incredible adventure to look forward to, but they have also given hope to our long-standing local partners who rely on tourism for their income.

If your trip departs on, or after 1st September 2020:

The vast majority of tours are currently planned to run as scheduled, however we will be in contact with you directly should there be any changes to your specific departure. 

We continue to monitor local conditions, the FCO and all relevant governmental advice and will review all trips, and update passengers a minimum of 30 days prior to departure.

What if I want to cancel my trip? 

We’re proud to offer one of the most flexible travel policies in the industry, and our new flexible booking conditions offer transferable deposits and no change fees to move to another holiday (subject to conditions).

 Before you depart 

  • Take out appropriate travel insurance before travelling and make sure it covers you for all the activities you want to do. 

  • If you are travelling within Europe, ensure you have a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) that hasn’t expired and understand what it covers -you still need full travel insurance though! For your free EHIC card visit www.nhs.uk/ehic

  • Learn about the laws, customs and entry requirements of the country you’re visiting and understand how they differ from home, check www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice

  • Check your passport is valid, fill out the emergency details, look after it while travelling and keep it in a safe place. Make sure you have all necessary visas. 

  • Make copies of important travel documents, take a picture or make copies and store them securely using a secure data storage site. 

  • Research vaccinations or any other medical requirements for your destination, and if necessary visit a travel health clinic before you travel. For medical advice visit travelhealthpro.org.uk. 

  • Tell your friends or family about your travel plans and where you’re going and leave emergency contact details. 

  • Take enough money with you and have access to emergency funds. 

  • Ensure you take the contact details of the local British Consulate in case of emergencies www.gov.uk/government/world/embassies

  • Act responsibly, and be responsible for yourself when abroad.
