Rome & Umbria - Tiramisu and Sunsets

This tour was a perfect. It was the perfect itinerary to explore so many different parts of Italy. I got to see history and ancient architecture but then the very next day you are walking in trails and through vineyards with views you can only see on foot .. And then ending with amazing food, and regional wines and chocolate.. It was a perfect blend of culture, history and food.. with views that take your breath away.. every single day.
There was enough down time to relax after day walks, use the pool, get some sun etc. whatever you fancy. I never felt over done or bored.. perfect blend.

Most Inspirational Moment

Watching the sunset in Todi. We had a lovely evening dinner in Todi, which came after a leisurely city walk. We were able to see the sunset from many different view points which was absolutely stunning.. and then we had a dinner on the most beautiful terrace overlooking the hills and pink skies.. It was a perfect end to a beautiful day

Thoughts on Group Leader

Nico was fantastic! He seemed to know everything about everything! He also did a very good job at making everyone part of the conversations at dinner, as well as making sure everyone was happy or comfortable with each activity. We knew the details of the next day by dinner time each night.

Advice for Potential Travellers

The walks are among different trails.. some brush, some forest, and then some street cement make sure to have proper footwear that makes you comfortable. Also remember sunscreen as a lot of the walks are open with the sun. Walking poles may help some travellers as some walks were more challenging than others.

Walking trip to Croatia

Vana, our guide, was amazing (fun, relaxed and knowledgable about the trails and the terrain). I appreciated her ability to “read” the group, flexing expectations with weather conditions (intense winds) and the groups abilities. This was not a trip to stop and “smell the roses” which is maybe more what I was hoping for (more cultural and historical information). Croatia is a stunningly beautiful country and the vistas did not disappoint. It was fun to explore the coast and the island more intimately. Accommodations were simple and clean. Breakfasts were excellent, especially at our last hotel. My biggest concern is that our ending spot (not where we started) near Zadar was more challenging to book return flights from and I wish that Exodus and provided transportation to a more major transportation hub, Zagreb maybe?

Most Inspirational Moment

Completing an extremely windy hike on a challenging trail. Also I love the hike on the Island of Brac. The descent to the town of Bol was so beautiful.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Vana was the best! She was really tuned to the needs of the group and managed our range of abilities so well. She was always fun to be with and clearly enjoyed seeing our group gel.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Be prepared for rough terrain and steep ascents and descents. Hiking poles are extremely helpful.

Wondering first time experience with Exodus

This was my first back pack trip ever. It was challenging but exciting and memorable!

Most Inspirational Moment

The best part of the trip was to meet people from all over the world, most of them experienced travelers. They were open minded, supportive and friendly, they made the experience even more memorable! The nature was beautiful, we had one sunny day, after that rain and snow on the last day, all seasons changed before our eyes. We visited the brown bears sanctuary, that was heartwarming to see the care and love for the wildlife. And of course the Dracula castle, big tourist attraction! The food was the best, healthy, irresistibly delicious!

Thoughts on Group Leader

We were blessed with the best leader: Sebastian! Knowledgeable, proud of his country, patient, supportive, positive!

Advice for Potential Travellers

Be prepared with the best hiking shoes. I personally suffered from hurting my toenails 😊

Close encounters with lots of wild animals

Great trip, lots of wild animals – lions, elephants, giraffes, zebra, wildebeasts, warthogs, hippos, rhinos, kudus, impalas – great guide and driver, very nice accommodation.

Most Inspirational Moment

Close ups with elephants, lions and rhinos Sunset dinner cruise

Very good, as was driver. We had several very unfortunate incidents - none the fault of Exodus or guide - and guide dealt with them very well. Some long journeys on AWFUL roads - grateful for a good and careful driver.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Pack important items and spare clothing in hand luggage - be prepared for main luggage to be delayed. If travelling with companion cross pack ie share luggage. Allow minimum 3 hours for connecting flights to reduce stress and allow for delayed incoming flight. Avoid Addis Ababa airport. If transiting through Addis take yellow fever vax cert in case miss connecting flight. Do not drink from drinking water fountain at Addis airport. Go a day early if you can in case delayed.

Mythic Miles

As first-timers on a group cycling experience, this was an amazing kick-off ride for us. We loved meeting new people in our group and the warm-hearted locals along the way… always gracious and open. The breathtaking scenery was awe-inspiring, especially along the coasts. The history echoed through every destination. The food was some of the best we’ve eaten anywhere. The challenge of the many miles and numerous climbs was very rewarding, as were the twists, turns, downhills, and straightaways that allowed us to focus on the here and now of our surroundings. And our two tireless guides Alexandros and Dimitris dutifully kept us engaged, safe, and entertained. It was an adventure we’ll never forget.

Most Inspirational Moment

Day three, midway through the trip, we took a lightly-winding gravel path along the coast of Platanus that served up some of the most stunning views we've ever seen on the back of a bike. The path led to a beach where we swam in the sea and picnicked on delicious food before a rigorous climb out, up foothills and mountain passes before reaching our hotel and dinner restaurant, hosted by genuinely kind-hearted folks who helped make the perfect end of our day.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Alexandros said he felt like a parent to his "children", guiding us and showing us parts of his world that made him happy, proud, and reverent of the Greek history and culture. We indeed felt his sense of responsibility and were very happy with his direction and never-ending energy to keep us all happy, invested, and on the right path.

Advice for Potential Travellers

We believe these trips are best for those who have an open mind about what they will see, where/how they will go, and what they will eat. Handing off our predisposition for a fair amount of control of our day was, pleasingly, a key part of our joy. We reckon most people who say 'yes' to this kind of journey are like-minded, but it's important to arrive physically AND mentally prepared. We left feeling a world more enriched than when we came.

A beautiful blend of history, scenery, and incredible food

I absolutely loved this trip! The cycling was perfect: around 90% on dedicated bike paths, with very little time spent on roads, which made it feel relaxed and safe the whole way through. Every day brought something different: charming medieval villages, peaceful countryside, and powerful reminders of history along the D-Day beaches. The food was a real highlight — from fresh seafood on the coast to delicious local cheeses and pastries, every meal felt like a reward after a day in the saddle. Mont-Saint-Michel and Saint-Malo were just as magical as I’d imagined. .
Overall, this was a wonderful balance of gentle cycling, culture, and great food — the perfect way to experience northern France!

Cycling in Croatia

We had the best group of people, the best weather and a formidable guide!

Most Inspirational Moment

The ride into Dubrovnik with the sea and a 100ft drop on one side and perfect weather

Marijo was tremendous, so energetic, personable, great knowledge of the history of the country, kept us informed of everything, invaluable

Advice for Potential Travellers

Order an e-bike, it makes all the difference, it gives you more time to enjoy the nature all around

Albania trip

Just back from a great Highlights of Albania trip. It’s a really interesting, beautiful country. I will spread the word to others to visit. Very economical and the guide was great. Artur was very knowledgeable and passionate about his country. He showed great care for all of us. The driver Diu was very calm and kept us safe. He was also very helpful with us and joined in with the group.

Most Inspirational Moment

I loved driving through the mountains

Thoughts on Group Leader

Artur was great. We were lucky to have him

Advice for Potential Travellers

Pick this trip

Great history leason but amzing views

This trip blew me away with all the places we visit, the beautiful accommodations we stay at and the views you get with each new day you have.

Most Inspirational Moment

Seeing the Pyramids up close and the sheer size of them

Thoughts on Group Leader

He was filled with tons of knowledge and knew the answers to all of our questions

Advice for Potential Travellers

Take loads of sunscreen, a big 360 degree sun hat and possibly a travel umbrella as well. There is not a lot of shade around. The swimmings pools are amazing for relaxing after a long day in the sun. You do also get loads of free time to explore on your own or do the optional excursions.

A Stunning Trip

I’ve wanted to do this hike for so long and it really didn’t disappoint. The days were long, steep and tough from the very first day to the last but the scenery was just stunning. I loved crossing from one country to the next, seeing the landscape change from alpine cliff to meadow, to glacial valley. It was beautiful. It is full on so get some hill training in but this really was beautiful.

Most Inspirational Moment

The Grand Col Ferret and seeing the Italian side for the first time - breath-taking. And the pistachio ice-cream in Courmayeur is an absolute must!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Adrian was superb. Some of our group struggled with this trek and he was constantly running up and down hills to look after everyone. He's a duracell bunny!

Advice for Potential Travellers

Get some hill training in!
