Absolutely amazing! Loved every moment. Roberto our guide was fantastic and this made our holiday extra special, nothing was too much trouble. I have been on many Exodus trips and the standard of guides is usually good, but Roberto was exceptional.
The itinerary was very varied, full on, and I enjoyed the switch backs between the Pacific coast and the Caribbean. A snapshot of the best of the three countries within two weeks. I also really enjoyed the island stays, boat rides, dolphin watching and snorkelling. A real mixed bag, but in particular the cycling was fantastic.

This is an excellent trek through the lush, green mountains of the Andes. Our guide, Willmer, was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable, he answered all our questions and nothing was too much trouble for him or his team of porters. The pace was leisurely with some steep climbs, there was no pressure or hurry to get to the top.
Unzipping our tent on the second morning of the trek and looking down into the stunning, cloud filled valley - an experience that made the whole trip worthwhile.
Willmer Delagdo was brilliant! His knowledge, help and patience made certain that the trip was a pleasure for everyone. He also had a wicked sense of humour!
Insect repellent and a slow, steady, uphill pace.......!
We’d never used a tour group before but decided to give it a go for this holiday as we wanted to make sure we fit plenty in. Straight away we knew that we had made a good decision. All of the hotels and Ryokans that we stayed in were excellent. We managed to go to a lot of places and learn a lot about the areas. Having all of the technical details taken care of meant that we could really enjoy our time in Japan.
There was a good mix of places to go and things to see and although there is a lot of walking the pace is quite slow so it’s not to bad. The balance between group and free time is very well struck so you can definitely fit in the things that you want to do outside of the tour.
I can't pick one so maybe three, the Inari shrine in the early hours of the morning, it was so quiet and tranquil. The peace park in Hiroshima, it was quite harrowing but inspirational at the same time. The cherry blossoms, I've seen cherry blossoms before but there is something about the Japanese attitude towards the blossoming of the trees that was truly amazing.
Absolutely excellent. I couldn't imagine someone doing a better job. Yuri was friendly, efficient and helpful. She had an incredible amount of knowledge about the areas we visited and Japan in general meaning that she was able to answer pretty much all the questions we posed. She made excellent recommendations for places to visit during our free time and usually purchased train tickets for us to get where we wanted to go so that we wouldn't have to figure the system out. She also arranged meals every night which was a huge help since my boyfriend is vegetarian and as such ensuring there was something he could eat was a bit difficult at times. The food she picked out was always amazing, I'm very glad that we had her advice as otherwise I wouldn't have tried half of the food that I did. All in all I really can't sing Yuri's praises enough.
Just go for it, it's worth having someone to guide you around, there is so much we would have missed without someone who had experienced it all before and knew how to get everywhere easily. Also take comfortable shoes (better yet ones that you can get on and off easily) and something warm and waterproof, it could get a bit cold at times, particularly in the mountains and although it only rained once on our trip we got soaked. When it comes to the public baths just have a go, there were a few members of our group who weren't sure but honestly it's something that you absolutely shouldn't miss.
A fantastic trip, great scenery all the way up, amazingly close views of the world’s highest mountains, good food, wonderful local people and a great group of fellow travellers.
Seeing Base Camp down on the Khumbu Glacier, after an early start and tough hike over rough ground covered in fresh snow. Also the stunning early morning view of Everest from Kala Pattar.
Ngima G Sherpa was a great leader, wonderful sense of humour and totally dedicated to our safety and enjoyment.
Make sure you are at least reasonably fit, some days are tough, eat the local food and just do it!
Lovely walks with views over Olive tree plantations and rolling Andalusian hills. Visits to Andalusian villages unspoiled by tourism. Great cuisine prepared by local staff from the village of Algamitas at the farmhouse base, Cortijo Rosario. A fantastic insight into life in Andalucia and the opportunity to wind down in peaceful surroundings; waking up to birds singing in the morning. The staff at the Cortijo were very welcoming and friendly.
Surreal views of the Andalusian hills; almost like a patchwork quilt. Camino del Rey walk and the walking just beneath El Penon were a real treat. The free day in Seville was amazing; great city to visit for the day.
Christopher Burke was friendly, knowledgeable and a helpful wonderful guide. Tina was shadowing Chris and leading portions of the walk she was friendly and enthusiastic; and she will make an excellent Exodus Guide.
Would highly recommend you to go on the trip as an introduction to this part of the World. We extended our trip for 3 nights to visit Granada; definitely worth it if you have time. I would travel to Andalucia again given the opportunity.
A great week of varied walks with a fantastic group, based in two very different but superb locations (Porte de Soller and Lluc Monastery).
Very good food at the local restaurants in Puerto de Soller and the restaurant outside the monastery. Eduardo (tour leader) made us such lovely picnics on the walks too!
The views along the coastal path of Sa Costera and the stunning mountain pass scenery on the transfer to the monastery.
Eduardo is an excellent guide - highly experienced and with a great love and knowledge of his native Mallorca.
Walking boots are a good choice for the rocky paths. Pack lots of layers... it was very cold on the top of mountains, and cool at night too (traveled March 2016). We booked the moderate week and found it was very manageable for anyone with a reasonable level of fitness.
First solo trip and with Exodus. I had a fantastic trip, Mao looked after very well and felt we did more than the itinerary said. Feel that I want to do the trip all over again.
The cycle rides, rickshaw just to name a few trips that showed a different side of Vietnam.
Mao, was very knowledgeable about his country and took us to some off the beaten track restaurants that excelled my expectations.
Yes, buy travelling mosquito, and suntan lotion. And take the water given on the internal flight.
What an amazing week! I wholeheartedly recommend this trip for anyone who is looking for a slightly challenging walk in beautiful countryside. The farmhouse is simply wonderful, spotlessly clean and was a pleasure coming back to after a long day of walking. Our group was friendly and I laughed the entire week. I was a bit worried about going on my own and having never been on an Exodus trip before I didn’t know what to expect. The week totally exceeded my expectations. Our days were well organised and thoroughly enjoyable. I was sad to leave. I’m looking into booking my next Exodus trip as soon as possible.
The views from the Grazalema Mountains were spectacular. What a treat to go there on the very last day. The climb was a bit challenging at times but well worth it.
Chris was fantastic! He took everything in his stride and nothing was too much trouble. He is a gifted story teller and told us interesting facts and stories about the places we went to. Chris went out of his way to make sure my dietary requirements were met both at the Farmhouse and when we had meals elsewhere.
The water there is perfectly fine to drink. I drank it and I was fine. However, some people were not comfortable with doing so. We were given bottled water to drink. I would suggest bringing a water bottle with a filter which would reduce the number of plastic water bottles needed. Also, don't worry if you are going alone. You are looked after from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave. Our group was super friendly and everyone got on really well.
I think this is the best thing I have ever done is was challenging, different and I feel I personally achieved something I will look back on and be pleased I did.
Getting to the top of the hill on the hardest part of the ride, and being cheered in by the rest of the group and escorted by Chi who had come back to meet me. Sailing in Halong Bay very atmospheric, just the sheer fun of doing something so very different.
Chi was brilliant such a sense of humour, very knowledgable and good fun
Take as little as possible and just enjoy the whole experience you won't regret it. Get yourself fit to get the most out of it. I don't mean cycling for miles before you go but being cycling fit helps. I did gym sessions a couple of times a week and maybe one longish cycle ride a week.
I really enjoyed the week’s holiday I booked in Madeira through Exodus. The walks where perfect for me, not too demanding and not too tough. The scenery was stunning, the guide was knowledgeable and always had a very good sense of humour. The other people on the holiday were great company. The hotels were well chosen, the food was great. Everything was arranged very well indeed. The one disappointment was the weather, it was unseasonably cold. One word of advice, if you suffer from vertigo think twice before going on this holiday!
I cannot pick out a precise moment, but the day walking along the cliff edge was the best.
Great sense of humour, knowledgeable without being overbearing.
Bring an extra layer or two as contingency, it was a bit colder than I expected.
