Hiking Croatia

The. Country and environment is beautiful.
I have completed 3 other trips with Exodus that were 5 Stars. I couldn’t do the same with this trip.

Most Inspirational Moment

The waterfalls were spectacular!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Vana was very nice and a great hiker. I wish she would have been more communicative with us about the history and culture.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Be careful with what you eat and the homes up the mountains are quite difficult (days - Thursday and Friday). Check with your leader to ensure the walk aligns with the itinerary and notes. The hotel information has not been updated.

Amazing adventure

The hiking tour of the Mount Blanc mountains and area around Chamonix was an amazing experience and adventure. We were very lucky with the weather which for the most part was lovely, but the variety of walks and views made each day a different and thrilling experience. The chalet was cosy and well looked after by our hosts Seb and Carol, who made us feel very welcome, and prepared great breakfasts and lunches to keep us going, as well as delicious cakes as a welcome treat when coming back from a hike, and very tasty and filling dinners.

Most Inspirational Moment

Every day was different, but my favourite trek was Lake Blanc which was beautiful, and the hike was amazing.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Adrian was a brilliant group leader. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the area and the different routes and also very friendly and went above and beyond to help each of us have the best week possible. He really helped keep everyone motivated and entertained on what were sometimes quite gruelling hikes.

Advice for Potential Travellers

We were very lucky with the weather, but even on the warmest days it was cold in the mornings, so bring layers to put on and take off. A set of water proofs, just in case, is also a good idea. Some of the hikes were more challenging than we expected. If you're reasonably fit and are okay to do the occasional scrambling over rocks or up ladders you will be fine, but by the end of the week I think we were all physically tired and glad to finish. Also, plan ahead for the day off so you don't have to scramble to find something to do or end up with no plans. Chamonix is lovely but you won't want to spend all day wandering around the shops and cafes.

Fascinating insight into central Asia and the silk road

Fabulous trip. We saw the famous cities and sites, and also travelled out into more remote areas. A real insight into the geography, the culture, and the history

Most Inspirational Moment

Too many to mention. The merging of soviet influences on top of earlier history in Tashkent, breathtaking buildings in Samarkand, treasures around every corner in Khiva, the desert, remote settlements and 2500 year old forts, making dumplings during the homestay, wonderful people...

Thoughts on Group Leader

Muhammed was a fabulous group leader. Not only did he share his expert knowledge of the country past and present, but he managed the logistics of the trip seamlessly so that we could just relax and enjoy the adventure.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Currency - take US dollars, easy to change them at the airport on arrival or at exchange booths in the cities. Clothing for ladies - best I suggest to be covered from shoulders to below the knees to fit in with local norms. At religious sites you will need a head covering (I used a scarf for protection from the sun as well, others had a hat). I did see one or two ladies in vest tops and shorts in the cities, and they were not getting frowned at but personally I would have felt uncomfortable vs what locals were wearing. Shopping - Samarkand or Khiva for silk scarfs and clothing. Bukhara for embroidery eg wall hangings - the quality here is better than the earlier cities. If shopping in the cities vendors will happily quote in USD or euros but once you have agreed a price, if you are paying by card will of course convert back to som for the transaction...watch the exchange rate, I'd suggest better to haggle in som. We usually got around 10-15% off through haggling. Travel - there are some long journeys by road and rail. Aircon on the trains goes off in the stations, and you can be there for half an hour, so be prepared to get hot! The road to the Aral sea is awful - more potholes than tarmac. Everyone is very welcoming - don't be surprised if you are asked for your photo, or to have strangers coming up to you for a chat. Security is absolutely not a concern. Food - good, and cheap! Though veggies in our group did struggle on occasion. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this trip - go, and enjoy!

Rustic Spain

Stunning scenery, hilly walks but easy terrain. The Cortico has great views and the outside areas are lovely. Bedrooms not so much. Some rooms are very small, I was allocated a small single room with a single bed, think student dorm, for which I was charged a extra!!! I have marked the trip down for that reason

Plentiful food with alternative diets well catered for .

Most Inspirational Moment

Sunrise and sunset from the terrace

Thoughts on Group Leader

Peter was excellent

Advice for Potential Travellers

Single travellers who pay the supplement should request a double room. Lot's of fish and seafood so bear this in mind and request an alternative when booking if you don't like or can't eat fish

Walking in Andalusia September 2025

Amazing walking holiday from start to finish.

Most Inspirational Moment

The views, food and wine.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Excellent

Advice for Potential Travellers

No air conditioning or ceiling fans in farmhouse. Awesome hikes with no other tourists.

Easy Walking Tour

Great Introduction to the Baltics

Most Inspirational Moment

The sandstone cliffs in Latvia, fascinating. Views of Riga from Hotel Island, and unexpectedly travelling with the Estonian Prime Minister.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Andrius was excellent, knowledgeable, great company, well organised and caring. He dealt very well , and diplomatically with all situations

Advice for Potential Travellers

Try it, you'll enjoy and learn a lot about the troubled history of the baltics.

Pretty comprehensive tour of what Morocco has to offer

Excellent itinerary to see the best of Morocco in 2 weeks. Inevitably that means some longer days in the bus but always many stops at points of interest to keep your enthusiasm alive.
From walking in the High Atlas Mountains to a camel ride on the edge of the Sahara to bustling Marrakesh and Fez and surprisingly clean and lush Rabat, this trip has it all.
The ‘in comfort’ part of the tour title needs clarification- all have comfy beds with clean sheets but some accommodations struggle to provide hot water or even a decent shower curtain. Having said that, hotel/riad staff were all very pleasant and helpful as are the Moroccan people generally

Most Inspirational Moment

The hammam visit was particularly memorable and is not to be missed! A sudden flash flood blocked our road to our hotel in the high Atlas Mountains with large boulders and debris but all car drivers and bus passengers helped clear what we could before the heavy machinery arrived to finish the job. No panic and everyone got on with it and the road was cleared in 30 mins- unimaginable in the UK!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Hamid was an absolute legend. We have been on many exodus trips and he was without doubt, the best guide we have ever had. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he could anticipate our needs without having to ask. He even arranged with hotels/riads in advance to avoid any delay for us on arrival. He is a real credit to Exodus

Advice for Potential Travellers

Just book the trip - you won’t regret it but don’t expect 4/5 star accommodation

Walking, sightseeing and swimming in North Cyprus

Fun week with a diverse group of like-minded people. Good balance between walking, sightseeing and relaxation. Good quality hotel with swimming pools and pleasant bar area.

Most Inspirational Moment

A few: views from hilltop castles, Roman ruins at Famagusta with excellent tour by our guide, swimming in the sea and/or pool after a day’s walking, fun with the group

Thoughts on Group Leader

Good, experienced and knowledgeable leader.

Advice for Potential Travellers

A bit more challenging than expected due to September heat. Could maybe go a little later in the season but while the hotel pools are still open. Trip notes are a bit out of date as regards costs of optional excursions and meals out.

A pleasant and informative experience

This was an enjoyable trip. Nothing spectacular, but consistently pleasurable and interesting. Learning about the Bosnia’s past and current conditions from our guide, Boris, who lived through the Bosnian War, was fascinating. The landscapes of Bosnia were also appealing, especially that of Sutjeska National Park. Further, the lodgings were more than comfortable, with the exception of that in Sutjeska, which was, for lack of other options, a Soviet-era experience. The food was excellent, too. Lost no weight on this trip. The only serious hiking on the schedule was the climb of Maglic. Unfortunately, we were not able to do that because of heavy rain and lightning. Thus, I would rate the experience I had as moderate, rather than moderate-challenging. Finally, let me give a shoutout and thanks to the other clients on the trip, who greatly added to my enjoyment.

Most Inspirational Moment

I cannot think of a moment that I would call inspiring.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Boris, our group leader, was outstanding. He really made the trip. A Bosnian Serb and a journalist, he had extensive knowledge of the country's complex history which he related with clarity, candor and a nice sense of humor (in flawless English).

Advice for Potential Travellers

If you haven't been to Dubrovnik before, you might think about scheduling an extra day there before or after the planned itinerary. The city is well worth a full day's visit.

The Most Incredible Adventure Ever

Two weeks in Costa Rica getting to explore the country’s most beautiful and diverse sites was one of the most incredible adventures I have been on. The fact that all places are so unique and diverse from one another and getting to see incredible wildlife throughout the trip was fantastic.

Most Inspirational Moment

Getting to meet Aurora in the Copey Valley and learn about her family history of the farm and have an authentic interaction and share a meal with her.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Johnny Villalobos was unbelievable. His passion for conservation, social impact and this trip shows throughout every fibre of himself. He provided some incredible insight into the history, geography and sustainability of the country and just contributed to the overall brilliant trip itinerary!

Advice for Potential Travellers

This is a brilliant trip to go onto if you are a solo traveler or are traveling with a friend where you want to see the highlights of the country and have a love for wildlife of all shapes and sizes.
