Stunning Trip

What an amazing trip from start to finish. The weather was perfect which made the trip even more special. One day of mist and drizzle which spoilt the views but not the walking experience. Kieran’s camp was fantastic, not to mention his cooking. It was amazing what he could produce out of his tiny kitchen. Loads of beer and wine. Tents good. Big enough to sleep two but not with bags as well so I paid extra for single use. Sleeping bag, mat and pillow also good quality.

Most Inspirational Moment

The scenery was stunning throughout, but the last day, climbing from the campsite to the top of the Brevant was a huge challenge. Mike advised us that the first part of the decent was challenging because of the snow conditions and a couple of ladders. I thought that if it was so bad he wouldn't risk taking us. Felt amazing to have completed the day and the tour.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Mike, was a fantastic leader. Encouraging, enthusiastic knowledgeable and inspirational. I am in awe of the variety of things he does.

Advice for Potential Travellers

A must do trip. A tent for single use is worth the extra money. Do your training as it pays off. Go up the Punta Helbonner cable care from La Palud near Courmayeur. It is stunning.

An amazing adventure walking amongst the beautiful alps

What a fantastic trip. I didn’t really know what to expect but I was blown away by the beautiful scenery and camping amongst the Alps. Our group and camp leaders Mike and Kieron were fabulous – fun, helpful and just great to hang out with. I’d do some training for the walk as it can be demanding but our group leader made sure the pace was manageable. We had a great group of people and I recommend the camping tour as we all became quite close pitching in and hanging out together. The tents were roomy and comfortable and the campgrounds we stayed in were also quite comfortable. Kieron made us beautiful meals, we certainly were fed well!! I definitely give this tour 5 stars, it’s challenging, beautiful, and you’ll make some life long friends.

Most Inspirational Moment

The most inspirational times of the trip for me was making it to the top of some of those tough climbs and experiencing the most incredible scenery.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our group leader Mike was amazing, as was our camp leader Kieron. Mike was knowledgeable, friendly and took great care of the group. I felt safe and looked after. The walking was sometimes challenging, but Mike set a pace on the tough parts to get us all to the top and the views were worth every step. Kieron was an amazing camp leader. His dinners were delicious and a cold beer was always waiting for us at camp. We had a lot of fun with our leaders.

Advice for Potential Travellers

My advice to other travellers would be to do some training for this walk. It is in the Alps and there are a lot of ups and downs which can be steep but in saying that the views are always amazing. I got a real sense of accomplishment on reaching the top of those big ascents. The camping was great I totally recommend going that way. The tents were big and comfortable for two people and it really brings the group together with everyone pitching in and hanging out. Loved it!!!

Great bike adventure from Prague to Budapest

I had never been to this part of the world & this trip was an excellent way to experience it. We were a small group of 5 & our guide, Jan, was amazing. He knew so much about the area since he was from Slovakia. He individualized our adventures based on our interests. The Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia & Hungary are rich in history, great architecture, local cuisine & culture. Do it!!! 😊

Most Inspirational Moment

Riding along beautiful, endless views of yellow canola fields

Thoughts on Group Leader

Jan was great! He went above & beyond to make sure our needs were met and that we were seeing & experiencing the local scene.

Advice for Potential Travellers

If you’re into it, we got tickets to see an opera at the Opera House in Vienna. It was such a cool experience.

An entrancing holiday, whether you see bears or not!

This was a wonderful walking holiday with the added bonus of following the “theme” of the bears which live in the Rodopi mountain area. The walks were Moderate, but Julian led at a relaxing pace to ensure that we could explore the beauty of the flower meadows, butterflies and other wildlife. The hotel in the village of Yagodina was brilliant, with substantial and varied local cuisine, rooms to a good quality, and freindly staff. Despite four evening vists to the bear hide (we were only a small group) we didn’t actually see any bears, but finding signs of them during the walks, such as footprints, marking treees, etc made us really feal that they were probably “behind you” all the time! Overall, a peaceful, relaxing and rewarding walking holiday.

Most Inspirational Moment

For me, it was the simple fact of being in a remote Bulgarian village, within a wonderful landscape, with great food and exercise.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Julian was a fantastic leader, and his incredible knowledge about bears and other flora & fiuana enthused the whole group. He made sure that the pace of the walks was relaxed to allow for opportunities to appreciate the flora and fauna.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Think about adding a couple of days in Sophia at the end. The group hotel for the last night, the Crystal Palace, is really in an excellent position, but there is no time to explore the capital city if you return on the group flight to Heathrow. We stayed on in the Crystal Palace Hotel, which is in the Embassy area of the city and within easy walking of all the main sights., for another couple of nights and were pleased we did. . Walking poles were useful on some of the steeper descents.

Iceland Explorer

Iceland is a fascinating country with a wealth of scenic attractions and this tour seemed to include all of them. It was busy every day, sometimes with long drives between the sights, but the landscape during these travels was always interesting and I was never bored. Weather was sadly unkind – but that is Iceland – with often rain and low cloud obscuring the mountainous views. On one day the wind was so fierce that the main circular road (Route1) was closed for 8 hours which disrupted plans for the day but Jon the guide created alternative sights for us to visit. Choice of hotels was generally good, with the guest houses occasionally a bit spartan (if you like tea in the mornings, pack a travel kettle). Food was good also, at twice the price of English restaurants

Most Inspirational Moment

Jokulsarlon lagoon with its icebergs and the associated Diamond Beach is unique whatever the weather. The many huge waterfalls never failed to impress, while a long soak one afternoon in a 30c-40c geothermal pool was delightful. Walking the basalt column cliffs on the Snaefellsnes Peninsular was particularly enjoyable as there was at last warm sunshine and plenty of unusual birds for the bird watchers in the group to appreciate. The whale watching trip from Akureyi was successful as we saw several humpbacks, probably the same whale repeatedly diving but still exciting to see their blows and flukes

Thoughts on Group Leader

Jon was an excellent leader, always attentive to our needs, ensuring that there were plenty of toilet and photo opportunity breaks during our travels. He educated us with many stories of folklore and life in Iceland, with his constant chatter and humour during the day always welcome. The few changes of itinerary due to the weather were made without drama, and we were always kept informed.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Be prepared for rain and wind and pack accordingly. Overtrousers are advisable (probably essential) with a rainproof coat, plus layers for clothing to easily remove if/when warm or put on on colder, windier days. Cash is not necessary, everything was paid for by credit card

Fabulous mountain trip

A well planned and orgamised holiday. From the moment we arrived in Geneva Airport and met Robert, our guide for the week, we relaxed and waited in eager anticipation for the week’s adventures to unfold. We were welcomed to Chalet Chocolat by Tom and Sol who prepared delicious home cooked meals (and not forgetting the cakes!) and packed lunches every day. Robert was an excellent and knowledgeable guide who also managed our mixed ability group well. The minor issues which inevitably arise on this type of holiday were quickly resolved. We had some interesting walks and returned home feeling both fit and refreshed.

Most Inspirational Moment

There were several but the walk on the final day with the views from the top of the valley into Switzerland and Italy was very special. That, and the lovely and interesting members of our group of walkers.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Robert was excellent. Knowledgeable, calm, organised and helpful. And we had some great conversations!

Greece is the Word

What a trip! Having previously only visited a couple of Greek islands, this trip truly opened my eyes to the myriad wonders of mainland Greece. A real whistle-stop tour of the country, spanning beautiful coastline and mountains. Maria, our tour guide, was enthusiastic, kind, passionate, knowledgeable and accommodating. Her content and delivery was interesting, and was positively remarked upon by the whole group. There is seemingly nothing she doesn’t know about Ancient Greece! A brilliant, potted history of some of the most iconic and important sites around Greece.

For those who love history, architecture, good food and wine (and nice hot weather!), this trip is definitely for you.

Most Inspirational Moment

The mountain monasteries at Meteora, and Delphi, were truly awe-inspiring. Amazing to be able to get up close and personal to so many ancient sites and relics. Athens is a great city - fun, varied and interesting.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Maria was fantastic - a real asset to this tour.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Take plenty of sunscreen, a hat, and comfortable shoes. A reusable water bottle is a must - there are taps around numerous sites to fill it up, too.

Pura Vida Costa Rica - Premium Adventure

Randell Obsney was a really good know knowledgeable guide.

Most Inspirational Moment

Zip lining and tubing

Thoughts on Group Leader

Great leader. Very good at adjusting to circumstances. Very sociable and easy to talk to. Very knowledgeable.

A wonderful mix of beautiful scenery and fascinating culture

This is an amazing adventure, from lush green steppe to mountains, sand dunes and Gobi plains. There are temples, excellent museums and the modern city of Ulaanbaatar ,and of course the Naadam festival. One of the best Exodus trips I have done.

Most Inspirational Moment

Everything! But if I had to choose- driving across the Gobi in 4x4s, so off the beaten track that sometimes there’s was no track! Beautiful vast expanses of mountains and desert. Stunning! Or the Naadam festival opening ceremony which was a wonderful mix of music, dance and horses. As good as, or better than an Olympic opening ceremony. You could feel the excitement of the crowd especially when the horses were galloping around the stadium. A very special memory.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Munkhbold was fantastic. Friendly, easy going and with a great sense of humour. He has vast knowledge of Mongolian history, culture and way of life, and made it all so interesting. He was well organised as well. One of the best leaders I’ve had.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Expect the unexpected! The gers are all excellent, but take your own shampoo and shower gel as they don’t supply any (the hotels do) A head torch is very useful for going to the toilets at night and for finding things in your bags as the Ger lighting is adequate but only in the centre of the room. Go to the optional cultural show in Ulaanbaatar. It is really good, very high quality dancers, singers, and musicians.

Walking the Amalfi Coast

An action packed trip visiting all the main attractions around the Amalfi coast.

Most Inspirational Moment

Walking around the edge of Vesuvius.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Nico was very knowledgeable, good fun and very helpful.
