Adventure Holidays to Triglav

Triglav holiday profile; Slovenians are great outdoor people, and love to take to the mountains.

Some of the world’s most famous mountaineers and alpinists hail from this area. Situated in Central Europe, this small but beautiful country has an amazing diversity of scenery, nowhere more so than in the spectacular Julian Alps and the Triglav National Park.

Also found here are the clear waters of lakes Bled and Bohinj. The second major mountain range of Karavanke is also close-by and both regions offer some of the most spectacular walking scenery in all of Europe. The fact that this area is still largely undiscovered is an added reward for the few foreign walkers who trek in the range.

Triglav Adventure Holidays

Brilliant trip, Slovenia is the hidden gem of hiking in Europe. Far away from the crowds of the Amalfi Coast, Dolomites and Mont Blanc you have uninterrupted days to yourself on the mountains peaks!

anthony zwart Walking the Slovenian Alps

The walks were incredibly slow, and the distance covered (especially days 2, 3 and 4) are far less then the plan. 15 miles instead of the advertised +25 and that is being generous. On a day when we started early (830 is not early) to try and beat the rain, in a period of 2hours 30mins covering less than 2.2 miles I was stopped for 1 hour 10mins waiting for others. Hotel was appalling, I had room by road, the binman turned up before 7 on one day and parked under the window!

A good choice of walks around lakes and up to waterfalls and mountain ridges. Lunches in the huts were variable – we mostly chose soup and bread.
