Title reflected my experience

Notwithstanding cancellations by others, this trip went ahead. I suspect people were deterred unccessarily by events in Gaza.
I absolutely loved Jordan and the experience was most definitely enhanced by the fact there were only 2 of us! Our tour guides were brilliant. Attentive, informative, open discussions on history, culture past and present and knowledgeable.
Jordan is a beautiful country with friendly welcoming people. Our hikes were great and enhanced by our meals and conversations with Bedouins. I would return there any time and have recommended it to friends.
I have visited Egypt before but never been to the Sinai area. Staying at St Catherine’s monastry was a real treat and the walk up Mount Sinai was a real highlight, as was the snorkelling (the best i have ever done).
Accommodation throughout was varied and added to the adventure.

Most Inspirational Moment

Jordan: National park hike including lunch cooked by Bedouins on open fire in the mountains. Wadi Rum, no surprise it has been the set for so many films. Petra, hiking the longer trail is a great idea, much nicer than the usual entrance route. Egypt: St Catherine's Monastry and Mount Sinai night walk Snorkelling at the Blue Hole (hike and additional snorkelling cancelled due to poor weather). The Red Sea Hotel was great for relaxing, swimming etc after the Sinai walk. I never tire of seeing the Pyramids, they're awesome.

Jordan: Amer was so informative and had a great sense of humour. I learned so much about his beautiful country, and culture. Egypt: Amed was knowledgeable and funny. Both ensured they were available and contactable as and when we needed them.

Advice for Potential Travellers

These countries are safe for travellers. Please do not cancel your trip. You will experience a range of activities provided by experienced and seasoned guides. The differences and similarities in both cultures are fascinating and thought provoking and the landscapes are beautiful.

Suggestions

I am under no illusion that my experience was probably enhanced by the fact that there were only two of us but I feel Exodus could promote the safety aspects of this trip more in order to support the decline in tourism in both countries likely due to the war in Gaza.

Bedouin Trails of Jordan & Egypt

The details of the trip were presented accurately. The guides were very knowledgable, helpful, and kind. They were able to tweak the schedule if safety or weather was a factor.

Most Inspirational Moment

Loved so much of it, but The Dead Sea, Petra, snorkeling (Mohammed was the best- so kind and knowledgeable He made us feel very safe, was able to do in water snorkel gear repairs, and named all the fish we were seeing.), driving thru Wadi Rum, climbing Mt. Sinai, and seeing the pyramids and sphinx.

Bedouin Trails of Jordan & Egypt

I felt well taken care of throughout our trip and the guides seemed to care about our well being and enjoyed their jobs.
Most Inspirational Moment

Petra, Wadi Rum, Red Sea Snorkeling and Pyramids

Anas was very friendly and personable. He shared knowledge of the areas we visited. Improvement: His English was very good but a few times I had to listen closely to understand what he was saying. My understanding got better as time went on. Andrew shared his passion and love of ancient Egyptian history and it was great having him with us in the museum. Improvement: I do wish he had more information to share about St Catherine's Monastery, very little facts were shared about the history and the significance of this place. I would travel with both of these leader again

Wonderful adventure through Jordan and Eypt

This trip included exploring ancient cities, hiking the back trail into Petra, walking through the desert, a nighttime hike of Mt Sinai, swimming in the Red Sea and a visit to the pyramids and sphinx.

Most Inspirational Moment

I loved the Wadi Rum desert and the hiking into Petra via the back trail. The desert was so quiet in the morning and the star gazing was some of the best I've ever seen.

Nidal Al-Ateag was our guide in Jordan. He was a lot of fun and always made sure we had the best view of the sites and plenty of time to explore. Ahmed Salem was our guide in Egypt. He was very knowledgeable about his country's history and the different regions we visited.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Enjoy every part of this trip! There is so much crammed into it and you'll keep wishing you had more time at a site or activity. But then your off to the next part and you start getting excited for it. If you only have one trip to do in the Middle East.....this is the trip to do! There is so much history and culture included, you will not be disappointed.

Suggestions

We were the first group to take part on this trip and it was virtually flawless. I would have like a second day at Petra but overall, there was plenty of time to enjoy each part of this trip. I would suggest reconsidering the activity level though. This is rated as a 3 out of 7 but its probably closer to a 5. The day we hiked the Wadi Dana canyon it was very hot, and several group members had difficulty on the long hike.

Bedouin Trails of Jordan & Egypt

The trip was well organised and a great experience.
Most Inspirational Moment

There are many. The Wadi Rum was stunning I loved it here so peaceful. Also enjoyed the back walk to Petra and Petra itself. St Catherine's was lovely and the museum artworks were gems. The snorkelling was amazing so many different colours and textures. Also the Egyptian museum and pyramid sights including the Sphinx. All the accommodation was good and beds very comfortable. The hotel in Dahab was a touch of luxury.
