Sara was an outstanding guide who enhanced our trip.
Cycling through the trellis.
Sara was capable, caring, warm, funny, and she made the extra effort to tell us the history of various locations and sites.
Lovely part of Italy, attractive towns and villages, relatively easy cycling and wonderful food and wine – what’s not to like?
Would describe as highlights rather than inspirational:- Matera - quite stunning and well worth the additional day we added - good advice from Exodus Alberobello - touristy but photogenic and pretty and a great opportunity to stay in a trullo - wonderful! The Masseria was also a beautiful setting - lovely accommodation, great food and wine, lovely pool a great place to relax.
Not a natural guide but Sara was very keen to ensure we had a good trip and worked extremely hard to achieve that - with very little help from her colleagues. She did a good job.
Take Exodus' advice and spend an extra day in Matera - well worth the visit This isn't a challenging ride so if you enjoy a relaxed cycle trip in a beautiful part of Italy with time to relax and explore each of the places you visit then this is a perfect holiday.
5 days of varied walking over the ridges and peaks of tuscany. The weather was generally very kind and the accommodation and welcome was superb. The food and wine was varied and cooked fresh. Bellisimo! Our tour guide was inspirational and full of stories and adventure. Worth the trip on its own. I encourage people to go and enjoy the tranquility of the tuscany mountains. Our stay in the lodge was fun and relaxing. I went on the challenging week and the hikes where sufficient to test my stamina.
The peacefulness of the mountains and the ability to feel far away from the normality of life. Using the ropes to edge around the ridges. Exhilarating!
I have completed many tours over the last 8 years and Sara bull is by far the best tour leader. Always aiming to please and getting all the small details spot-on. Sara puts her clients at ease and I had a marvellous time. Sara has immense knowledge and the ability to inspire further travel.
This trip is a must, for an all-round experience. Walking, food and hospitality. Take all the gear for various weather and enjoy a dip in the pool.
I great trip to see the centre and South of Madagascar with plenty of changing landscapes and Limurs in the forests. The island in the South was uniquely beautiful, but unfortunately a bus heavy trip was made much worse by the cancellation of internal flights adding another 23 hours to the time spent on a bus.
The Ranohira national park had fantastic canyons and sandstone features. It was a shame we did not walk longer here.
The group leader was highly knowledgeable in all areas and managed to return us safely to Antananarivo safely even when the internal flights were cancelled.
There is really a lot of bus travel on this trip, even the city tour on the last day involves 60km of bus ride. Be careful about changing money back at the airport as we were tricked. The exchange only had 50 euro or 20 dollar notes so simply rounded up all the local money to an exchange rate in his favour essentially robbing us.
This was a wonderful trip that my husband and I throughly enjoyed. It gave us a great opportunity to explore this beautiful region and thanks to Eduardo we were able to really get the most out of the area. Highly recommended!
Arriving in Positano at the end of the steps down from the walk of the gods - a great sense of achievement!
Eduardo was an absolutely fantastic group leader. He made sure we all had a great holiday and his local knowledge was invaluable (particularly when it came to great places for lunch!). He has obvious passion and pride in this beautiful region and it was a pleasure to spend a week with him.
Don't underestimate the spectacular walk of the gods, it was brilliant experience but a little challenging in the summer sunshine (particularly if you do the steps at the end!).
A small, eclectic group of people, who enjoyed each other’s company, and shared some wonderful experiences on a cycle through 3 countries. The cycling days were long, fast and flat. Very enjoyable, on well maintained bikes. Safety was taken care of by a very attentive team, shepherding us through busy, but generally slow, and forgiving traffic in towns. Outside the towns, the roads were empty, and well maintained. The sightseeing was well organised, with commentary by well informed local guides.
The temples at Angkor Wat are huge and impressive. Cycling through the back streets alongside the waterways of the Mekong delta gave a fascinating insight into local life. However, for sheer, jaw dropping shock, nothing can prepare a visitor, for seeing the Killing Fields, and S-21 prison. The visit was made even more poignant, by meeting the only 2 living survivors, and from the personal insights of the Cambodian Guide.
Rit did an amazing job. He was always good humoured, and tolerant of teasing. very good company in his own right. He led the tour through 3 different countries, with a separate support team in each one. No mean feat. A top cyclist, and a top man!
Take US dollars for the tour tipping kitty. Use the out of hotel laundry, much cheaper than the hotels. Try to have a look at Chau Doc, in the short time you're there, an amazing waterfront on the Mekong. Take insect repellent, especially for the home stay.
Walks are quite long and it was 30c plus in June but varied and interesting. Every effort was made for us to experience local dishes and wine. Our guide provided quite elegant picnics and was very attentive in restaurants making sure we had everything we wanted.
The evening walk through the trulli to a restaurant was memorable as there were so many of them. Lecce was great contrast.
Charming and attentive. Would have liked to hear more about plants an wildlife.
Be careful of the professors on the neolithic archaeological site, I was told I had not been listening, twice, when I asked a question! Rude to visitors.
Excellent and unforgettable holiday. Quite fast paced taking in all the famous sites of Jordan and some ‘off the beaten track’ extras too!
Camping in the Wadi Rum desert was incredible, as was snorkelling in the red sea.
Very informative and very witty!
Camel back riding is available at 20jd and a boat trip including snorkelling, lunch and drinks on the red sea is available for 35jd. These are fab trips and well worth the while. Please don't rely on Lonely Planet guides no matter how up to date they are, as prices, times and availability change depending on the seasons, days of the week, and other events such as Ramadan.
A very interesting holiday seeing the 3 Baltic states and learning about their history and seeing towns and countryside. We also sampled local cuisine.
I think what the people have done to restore their countries since gaining their independence not so long ago is inspirational!
Our group leader Vaida Jusaite was a lovely caring and informative leader who is passionate about the Baltic States and very knowledgeable. She made sure we experienced all that we could . She was also empathic to our needs.
If you want to experience the Baltic States and learn about their history and culture this is the holiday for you!
A quite outstanding trip that packed so much into a week. The route combines sleepy agricultural areas, grand mountains and spectacular coastline. Varied scenery combined with some excellent places to stop overnight and a couple of interesting sightseeing stops to enjoy aspects of Albania’s history in Gjirokaster and Butrint. Inexpensive. Some demanding cycling on excellent bikes.
Nothing to single out: each day seemed so different.
Armand, supported by Marsela. Extremely well organised - everything to do with the bikes, accommodation, meals happened seamlessly (not for them - they worked really hard.) Quite apart from anything else, Armand trialled and selected this excellent route
Panniers for these bikes were excellent. Can accommodate an extra water bottle which, on long shifts, might be useful.
