A Wonderful Tour

Amazing culture, history and scenery.

Most Inspirational Moment

There were lots of great moments, visiting the churches of Lalibela and sitting among a vast troup of Gelada Baboons are just two of the highlights.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Gebre was first class, anticipating all of our needs. He looked after our large group with skill.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Remember there is quite a variation in temperature so pack accordingly. Hotels in Ethiopia are not up to European standards, but most of the staff are friendly and helpful.

Discover Chile

Thoroughly enjoyed holiday! but would have preferred 3 weeks instead of 2, in order to visit Chiloe and spend more time in Torres del Paine park.

Most Inspirational Moment

Torres del Paine.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Very competent.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Be flexible. Early morning starts, lots of flights.

Inca Trail

Very well organized and all went according to the plan which was increadible

Most Inspirational Moment

Seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Second day was hard and was challenging.

Thoughts on Group Leader

He was friedly and calm. Reliable and easy to get on with

Advice for Potential Travellers

Claimbing to high altitudes during the walk so be ready and try to get your body adjusted to lack of oxygen with whatever ways you know as soon as you arrive.

Land of the Tiger

This was the second time I had done this trip, having enjoyed it so much 2 years ago. It exceeded expectations!

Most Inspirational Moment

Undoubtedly seeing so many tigers, including a female with 4 cubs on their first public outing. Forestry staff had seen them, but we felt very special when the cubs appeared.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Hemal was helpful and conscientious, ensuring we were fully informed at all times.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Don't underestimate the weather - really cold mornings and evenings on the New Year departure. We all bought an extra fleece and wore two! The sun will burn at other times, so check carefully. Dust is also a problem and protection for cameras is high priority.

Fantastic sycling in Kerala

Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic. I kept saying this at least three times a day during the trip. The landscape, all the friendly people along the route who cheered at us and the consept of sycling through Keralas wonderful environments.

Most Inspirational Moment

The most inspirational moment of my trip was when I reached the top after sycling 36 hairpin bends through the most wonderful landscape you can imagine.

Thoughts on Group Leader

The Group leader made me feel safe. I really appreciated his way of leading the group and how he guided us through all kind of traffic.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Don't forget Your camera. There are plenty of Pictures to be taken:-)

Discover Sri Lanka

A great combination of sightseeing, activites, eating and cultural insights.

Most Inspirational Moment

The most enjoyable parts included river rafting, a train ride through tea country and meeting local people in the times when I broke off from the group.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Sujan Weerakoon is really excellent. Friendly, fun, highly knowledgeable, a great wheeler dealer and fixer to get things done, and strict enough to keep a group of 18 punctual and ship-shape!

Advice for Potential Travellers

Take modest t-shirts for the temples and for decorum in general. Break away from some group meals to eat in the streets - it's much cheaper and the food is well worth investigating. It's also fun, cheap and simple to jump on a public bus or a tuk-tuk alone to go exploring.

Wheels, Wines & Waves

A great trip; at times the weather was a little on the warm side for cycling. A fun mix of cycling, wine, food and sightseeing and the overall experience was made even better by a great group of people.

Most Inspirational Moment

The natural beauty of this area of South Africa was very inspiring, particularly cycling along the Coast and hearing the crashing of the waves and admiring the power of the sea. Inland, the ride from Barrydale along the gorge was also spectacular. Hermanus was also a main highlight and we will definitely come back here on a future trip.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Peter was a great leader and quick to change plans when needed - as this trip was over Christmas and New Year, some of the restaurants that would normally be used were closed and he was able to adapt plans at short notice. On Christmas day, as an extra that was not on the official itinerary, he chose the perfect place for us all to have a glass of bubbles together, overlooking Cape Agulhas. He is a kind and thoughtful guide who always tries hard to meet the very varied requests from the group – at times this is an impossible task!

Advice for Potential Travellers

Go with the flow. This advice goes for this trip and any other Exodus trip – the trip notes should be taken as a guide rather than a rigid itinerary and if anything changes just enjoy it. Some of our best experiences on this trip were changes made at short notice, such as finishing our last day of riding at the top of Signal Hill with a drink, overlooking Cape Town. Apart from a couple of optional hills the riding was not too hard and is accurately described as moderate.

Cycling Cuba/Trip code MAH/ 10th-24th Dec 2015.

Our family very much enjoyed their Cuban holiday. Accommodation was clean and comfortable, (varied standards). Many beautiful cities and artitecture features to admire. Bikes were well maintained. Food and mojito’s plentiful.

Most Inspirational Moment

Day 4 of the ride was a highlight. We stopped at Caleta Buena, swam in the beautiful blue waters of the Caribbean and viewed tropical fish in the sea pool there. Also enjoyed the night life in Trinidad. Our children loved the "Rave Cave'.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Freddy our tour guide was very informative and knowledgeable. He knew all the twists, turns and hills on our route and was able to give practical advice tackling them. He was approachable and helpful,(we started our tour without our luggage, which wasn't easy). Freddy and the staff at Exodus helped to chase it up and deliver it to us.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Take sun screen and a sink plug. Keep your loose change for toilet stops. At cycle stops we were provided with local fresh fruit, which was good. Would have liked more substantial ride snacks for energy,(trip notes did advise to bring your own). We spent more money on evening meals than we thought would. Most nights CUC 15 plus per person, per meal.

Colours of Rajasthan

The trip was GREAT! Harish, our guide was fun and informative. I loved the small group of interesting people. My friend and I were the only Americans on the trip. There were 2 Australians, 1 Canadian, and the rest English for a total of 16. We chose Exodus because we didn’t want to travel with only Americans. The itinerary was just right, too.

Most Inspirational Moment

The two things I REALLY wanted to see on this trip were the Taj Mahal and a tiger in the wild. We got to see both! I had always thought that the Taj Mahal was the most beautiful thing man has ever made, and I still believe that after having the privilege of seeing it for myself. And the tiger is surely one of the most beautiful things God has ever made!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Harish was great. He clearly loves his country, but didn't sugar coat it.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Travel with an open mind and an open heart.

Finnish Wilderness Week

This is an amazing trip based at a wonderful centre called Basecamp Oulanka. The staff are fantastic, always available to assist and advise you. Mornings are spent trying out different activities and then in the afternoon you can try something different, relax or consolidate your snowshoeing or cross country skiing skills in the national park. Once you have tried these activities the equipment is available free to use during the week, as are the sledges on site. The food is tasty and plentiful, and the accommodation warm and functional. Trying lots of new activities really made this trip unique and now I feel I’m ready for a more specialized trip in the future.

Most Inspirational Moment

My daughter and I fell in love with the dogsledding. Everyone experienced the half day session and many of us scrambled to sign up for the full day which is something that we will never forget. The huskies are incredible, keen to be off, howling and jumping with excitement which contrasts with the silence when you are speeding along. The scenery is breathtakingly serene and beautiful. Lauri, the owner of the huskies, is caring and very knowledgeable and the dogs aim to please him and it is great to see their kennels and hear about how they live throughout the year.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our leader Martti was always available at the camp to answer queries or to suggest a route for an extra walk. He was very knowledgeable about survival skills in the cold and we had great fun building a quinzee. He is passionate about the Finnish wilderness and his enthusiasm is infectious.

Advice for Potential Travellers

All of the camp clothing is very good quality so do believe the trip guide, you really do only need to take thermals and good wool socks and liner socks, the fleeces and outer clothes are there for you. When it dropped to minus 27 it was useful to have a balaclava and woollen hats with the flaps to cover ears were a bonus. Do take Vaseline and lip salve, and use oil based moisturisers. Also shoes/trainers to wear in the main lodge when going for meals are useful.
