Amazing trip

The trip was well organised, featuring stunning mountains views of the exceptional himilayan mountains! Even though we lost two days due to flight cancellations the Sherpa rearranged all of our accommodation and still made sure we made it to the base camp and back on time!

Most Inspirational Moment

Taking a helicopter ride over the mountains on Christmas Day!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Ngima Sherpa was a outstanding guy, he was quick in his feet with solutions to group problems, he was an absolute bundle of laughs! He kept me and the group smiling the entire trip! Certainly made the trip

Advice for Potential Travellers

Put your wet wipes in your sleeping bag and it's like a warm shower in the morning!

Backroads of Sri Lanka

The Sri Lanka cycle ride was probably the most enjoyable of all my trips with Exodus of which I have completed 8

Most Inspirational Moment

There were several great moments therefore I am inclined not to nominate one

Thoughts on Group Leader

Suresh Bandara is possibly the most accomplished bike tour guide I have traveled with who was very instrumental in adding numerous special touches to the experience.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Sri Lanka is a great journey by bike however it is perhaps the most expensive I have traveled in Asia so far.

A great introduction to Namibia

Discover Namibia camping was great to do over Christmas. We saw diverse wildlife and landscapes with unexpected early rains and a sandstorm but this added to the experience!

Most Inspirational Moment

Etosha was the highlight together with the wildlife that came to visit, including hearing a lion roar by night. Dune 45 and the petrified acacias were also great.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Ronney was approachable & friendly but occasionally overloaded us with too much info, for too many days ahead. Would have been nice if he had been a little more informative at times on the flora & fauna. Happy and Nathaniel made amazing food, especially 'Happy Bread'.They were amazingly helpful when early rains caused flooded tents but it all added to the experience!

Advice for Potential Travellers

Take something warm,as in layers for the early mornings on the truck and game drives in the early eve. In December I used just a sleeping bag liner for half the trip as was so warm at night but did use my sleeping bag. It's possible to buy cheap sleeping bags in Windhoek as one of our group did. Take a neck scarf to place over your nose and mouth when climbing Dune 45 & very useful if you encounter a sandstorm! Do the plane ride over the Skeleton Coast. Take a dark coloured travel bag as the red sand gets everywhere.

Fabulous trip

A tour of both North and South Islands with numerous short walks included which aren’t listed on the trip notes. The scenery is just breathtaking (sometimes literally with some of the hills we walked up….) and just needs to be seen.

Most Inspirational Moment

Seeing into the Red Crater at the top of the Tongarairo Crossing. The photographs just do not do it justice at all. Plus, you then get to run down the scree which is a lot of fun....

Thoughts on Group Leader

Excellent knowledge of the flora and fauna, I know more about NZ wildlife that that in the UK.... He also took us on numerous little walks to break up the long coach trips, many weren't listed on the trip notes but he knew them any way.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Even in summer, weather is variable. Actually, you are guaranteed rain in Westland... I used my light down jacket more than I thought. You need DEET On the south island, sandflies are evil

Colours of Rajastahn

I thought this was an excellent trip, designed to the highest standards I have come to expect from Exodus. It has a fantastic itinerary of fascinating places, forts and temples, supported by good accommodation. It is rightly designated ‘Leisurely’ as very little walking is involved, and personally I would have liked a bit more exercise, but there are some long journeys which may be a consideration for some travellers.

Most Inspirational Moment

Of course the Taj Mahal is an obvious answer, but I particularly valued an unscheduled stop at Chittorgarh Fort, on the initiative of our Tour Leader - full marks! This is an astonishingly large complex, and I recommend it for formal inclusion in future trips, as it broke the long journey. Consequently, we could only spare a couple of hours, but I hope to return and spend several days there.

GAJRAJ - is a first class professional, completely on top of his game. He has excellent command of English (not his language!) and has a good sense of our British humour. I am sure there must have been admin. issues along the way, that Gaj dealt with quietly and efficiently on his mobile phone. In particular, there was a 'Cash Crisis', which Gaj went to exceptional lengths to manage around, for example, touring one town on the back of someone's motorbike to find a working ATM - thank you very much - it took much of the stress out of a difficult situation. Gaj also facilitated three of us visiting Ranthambore Fort during some free time, which is tantalisingly visible from the National Park, with many temples and buildings. We greatly appreciated this, and felt it was better use of our time than a second Game Drive, so we recommend it should become an optional alternative.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Just be aware, there are some long journeys. Also that it was very cold, doing the early morning Ranthambore safari, so take plenty of warm clothes (e.g. layers, hats and gloves.)

The turning wheels on a Cuban odyessy

Now………….. the first thing to say is that I am NO cyclist…..well that’s not totally true of course as of course I CAN ride a bike and myself and my wife have a reasonable level of fitness, however its not my recreational pastime as was some on our trip…….BUT…..What a holiday.

If you are any doubt about your ability to do this, then so long as you have that reasonable level of fitness you should be just fine….and if you feel like riding on the support bus one day or more, then you can do that as well. No problem or aspersion cast from your fellow travellers.

The perfect thing is that you get to see the country side as it SHOULD be seen……Up close. Cuba is very beautiful and majestic in places with areas untouched and great vistas. Lovely to see from a bike.

The tour starts and ends in Havana and you go East going through some of the most important places such as the historic Bay of Pigs area, World Heritage site of Trinidad, the National park, and the Bustling City’s of Santiago and Havana….I’m not going to say all the secrets….I want you to go and find them yourself, but I promise you will NOT be disappointed. The history and beauty of the island is a great mix. You really learn a lot.

Most Inspirational Moment

Well I really loved the off road cycling sections as we went through some of the areas away from the City's, beaches and tourist places and you see exactly how the "ordinary" people live. Its a real eye opener. That said.......... learning Salsa dancing on a roof top in Trinidad will live long in my mind as well!!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Angel Lopes was a local man who had been to Europe so had travelling experience himself. He also had a great balance of local knowledge, humour, and leadership when needed. He looked after us well and I thought actually handled a couple of difficult situations with good customer face. Our group was a real mix of young and old from all over the world, and I think he sized up our personal characters fairly quickly.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Go with an open mind. Things don't always go to plan so be prepared to think on your feet and go with the flow. The Casa Particulares, (the "bed and breakfast" home lodgings) are variable standard but apart form one slight issue, all of ours were totally acceptable. The ones at the Bay of Pigs and Trinidad were especially good. But they are people homes so have that in mind. Take hand gel and Toilet paper!!...sounds odd but gives you a bit of personal protection especially when you are totally away from the city's.

Family holiday in the rainforest

The holiday was superb. Lots of lovely animals to see and of great interest to both kids and adults alike. Our guide and driver Antonio and Theodore were superb. Antonio super knowledgeable and a top bloke.
Company of the fellow travellers and kids also made the trip-superb bunch of people. Animals, scenery and wildlife was great to see. Kids are still talking about the things they have seen

Most Inspirational Moment

Seeing the rainforest downpours and all the great animals.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Group leader was first class, amiacable and helpful. He listened to people's needs within the group and was always enthusiastic to show us the scenery and wildlife. Nothing was too much bother.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Don't forget your going to the rainforest. At times it may be wet and difficult to dry things but the weather is warm

A wonderful cycling trip around this jewel in the Indan Ocean

A wonderful trip around a great country brilliantly led by Suresh with his excellent team ensuring everyone got the most of the holiday. A really well put together itinerary balancing cycling, culture, wildlife and fun!

Most Inspirational Moment

Not easy to pick one particular highlight but with virtually no transfers we were able to take in the sights, sounds and smells (of the wonderful cooking) as we moved from place to place by bike. Whilst the cycling was tough at times there was time to see historical monuments, visit a few temples and witness the way different religions worship and prey, sit by the pool and beach, take a short hike up a mountain, watch wildlife, eat the wonderful food and of course sample the local beer! The variety has been superb - the scenery and climate changed as we explored this gem in the Indian Ocean allowing us to see paddy fields, tea plantations, wetlands, forests and more. The roads were in general pretty good - better than most backroads I cycle on in the UK - and we tended to avoid most of the traffic. The people of Sri Lanka are the icing on the cake. The children wave and say hello as you whistle past on your bike and in general we got a very warm welcome everywhere we went.

Thoughts on Group Leader

The Exodus team were exceptional and its easy to see why Suresh has been recognised for his abilities. Not only did he make sure everything run like clockwork but he worked tirelessly to make sure we got every ounce of enjoyment from the trip, pulling out a few pleasant surprises along the way (I'm not going to say more - you will have to go and find out for yourselves!). Suresh was well supported by Upali, Sandy and Vijay who kept us safe, watered, fed and happy... I didn't have to pick up my suitcase for the whole trip and am still trying to work out how they found out who's bag was who's.... They clearly enjoy their jobs and it mattered to them that we had the best of holidays. Thank you so much.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Take a brolly for the occasional shower and be prepared for some early starts.

Galapagos in Darwins footsteps

A few days spent on each of four slightly different islands allowing you to see lots of wildlife and some interesting geological features.

Most Inspirational Moment

Snorkelling with sea turtles ( never seen so many) rays and sea lions and the trek up to the rim of Sierra Negra. View of the caldera was amazing.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Fabian was very knowledgeable , had a great sense of humour and the patience of a saint.

Advice for Potential Travellers

With hindsight I wouldn't have bothered to take my own snorkel gear - there was plenty available to hire .

Great trip with stunning mountain views

A great mountain biking trip, nothing too technical but loads of fun ups and downs. The scenery is just epic, huge mountains as far as you can see. Combined with blue skies and great guiding a perfect new year start!

Most Inspirational Moment

The variety of inspiring scenery we cycled through - all in the middle of nowhere. And amazing stars at night.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Great

Advice for Potential Travellers

Don't forget to change money back before you go through passport control on your way home.
