A perfect way to see the best bits of China
The Great Wall and Terracotta Warriors exceeded all expectations, they were truly amazing. Pandas were adorable!
Anna was a great tour leader - she provided a good mix of history and background to all the places we visited.
China was a lot easier than we expected - it was easy to get around and explore on our own during free time. Make sure you get your eSIM sorted before you arrive so you can continue using maps/Google translate etc. Be prepared to show your passport every where and expect a lot of security checks! Fabulous country, so glad we went.
As a member of the Exodus team, I was really excited to experience this Signature trip on my first visit to Egypt, and it exceeded all of my expectations.
From the moment we landed in Cairo and were whisked through the airport by golf cart, the journey felt special. The itinerary strikes a great balance between iconic highlights and lesser-known gems, which helped us explore while avoiding the crowds. Our guide, Andrew, brought ancient Egypt to life with his knowledge, engaging storytelling and fun anecdotes.
Every place we stayed was exceptional, with thoughtful service and staff who were always happy to help. Each day of the trip had carefully chosen moments that took us off the beaten path to see something memorable, and it all felt really special.
Once on board the private Dahabiya, the experience stepped up even more. The crew did a fantastic job of making us comfortable as we drifted along the river, whether we were stepping off the boat to explore sites or relaxing on deck with a drink and watching the world go by. It’s an unforgettable way to discover Egypt.
With Andrew’s storytelling, history came alive at every turn. There were so many “wow” moments as we wandered through ancient temples and stood close to the Pyramids.
Andrew was an incredible leader. His knowledge was genuinely impressive, and his passion and enthusiasm were infectious. The way he brought stories to life and highlighted details behind the sites made every stop engaging and memorable.
The journey is packed with highlights as you explore iconic sites in Cairo and Luxor. Once you step aboard the Dahabiya, everything slows down and there’s time to relax. Watching Egypt glide by from the deck with a coffee or glass of wine in hand is a lovely way to take in the Nile at a gentler pace.
Beautiful location for a walking holiday, with mountain views, historic sites and quiet beaches. Even time to swim in the sea on several occasionals!
Our guide was amazing, George looked after the group perfectly, sharing local knowledge and helping those that wanted to join in the Easter celebrations.
The hotel and town were the perfect base, great places to eat with a friendly atmosphere.
Would definately recommend this trip!
Four countries, three capital cities, and centuries of tribes and empires making their mark on eastern Europe, what a trip! I think some of the pacing on this new trip needs some reconsideration, but it was a great experience.
All my trips with Exodus have been excellent and I hope there will be many more to come. For like-minded people who want to travel rather than go on holiday, Exodus group tours offer so much.
Visiting 4 countries (plus driving very close to two more: the Ukraine and Greek borders) and learning about the troubled histories of tribes and empires and religions conquering Eastern Europe over so many centuries and leaving their mark. The variety of places - rural and urban, and of food was excellent.
Barni was excellent: warm, kind and approachable at all times. Each day he was dressed fully in a traditional Hungarian style, and with his twirling moustache and hat, he was a delight to see. He shared fascinating stories of his upbringing in a Hungarian village in Romania. His organisation of the itinerary, transport, restaurants, tour guides, toilet breaks, currency issues and tip kitty were all superb. He ensured we had all necessary information on a "just in time" basis rather than overloading us in advance. He facilitated the option to attend classical music concerts in Budapest and Bucharest, which was great.
This was the most incredible two weeks walking through Northern Vietnam. The trip offered the perfect balance of time in vibrant Hanoi and Sapa, while also taking us deep into the remote communities and villages of Ha Giang and the far north. Every day brought stunning scenery—endless rice terraces, dramatic mountains, and beautiful landscapes!
One of the highlights was how immersive the experience felt. We were the only tour group on the trails, passing locals going about their daily lives—working the rice fields, walking buffalo, or children playing between villages. It felt authentic, peaceful, and incredibly special. The food deserves a special mention, absolutely mouth‑watering! Every meal was a highlight, and the warmth and generosity of the people we met made the experience even more memorable. My most inspiring moment was being welcomed into a local family’s home, where they prepared lunch for us. Despite very limited shared language, we connected through laughter and kindness—it was unforgettable.
Our group leader, Linh, truly made this trip exceptional. He is hands down the best tour leader I’ve ever had on any guided trip. He was 100% committed at all times—constantly looking after us, sharing his home, his culture, and his personal stories of Vietnam. He went above and beyond every single day, and his humour added so much to the group experience. I genuinely can’t imagine exploring this region without him.
bring trekking poles, breathable clothing, and plenty of water—it’s hot and humid!
This tour is superb such a high level of hotels and guiding and inclusions! The guide Andrew was brilliant so informative, friendly and engaging. You got to see virtually every temple you have probably heard of and get to see different things in each one that Andrew guides you to see. The timings are great they try to avoid getting you there when all the huge groups will be there. There is so much included with all the food inclusions that the tour price is virtually all you will pay, just allow a budget for drinks(in the old cataract a cocktail is easily £30 mark!) and local craft gifts you want to buy! The pace is full on to start but then you get to the dahabiya and the pace eases down to a lovely relaxing level floating down the nile nipping to the odd temple then in the jacuzzi or sat on deck having a drink watching the world go by, it was brilliant.
Seeing the pyramids from the observation area with noone else there because of the timing of the tour was incredible
He was superb genuinely not had a better guide before, Andrew was so good I felt sorry for other groups we saw because they didn't have our guide.
Prepare for the food, Egyptians seemingly are feeders and the portions are akin to USA portion sizes!
Very enjoyable trip and we learned a great deal. Having a knowledgable local guide is great.
Very clear information, very good guides, good hotels and sensible use of time.
Table Mountain in the sunshine, Featherbed Nature reserve and lunch, natural wonders and physical geography
The trip was well paced and planned. Our guide was warm and friendly. We had opportunities to push harder or relax more. The folks in the group were lovely.
I knew what to expect at each turn! From booking to our tour. Process was so clear and helped me get excited about the trip and extra assured while I was on the trip. This is my second Exodus tour and will not be my last!!
I don't think it's an surprise that Alan was a wonderful leader. You can tell he's very knowledgeable about all the parts of the trip. He made excellent suggestions on where we could do more or less, when to venture out and when not to. He made the trip really great and I feel very lucky he got to show us a lovely bit of Croatia!
We had a wonderful week walking the quieter part of the Amalfi Coast, seeing the coastline, beaches, small villages, wooded areas & climbing down a LOT of steps but they were worth the effort & aching legs to arrive in wonderful places!
The hotel is lovely with very welcoming staff & the food is traditional home made Italian which is really nice!
We enjoyed the little extras too like the pizza making & tasting evening, the kitchen tour & a visit to the local cheese maker (THE best ricotta cheese we have ever tasted!) We didn’t want to leave!
Turning the corner & seeing the Vesuvius crater for the first time! Visiting Ravello which is a gorgeous little village & much quieter than bustling Amalfi!
Veriano had a great sense of humour & shared his knowledge of the local area with us. He built in lots of rest stops, especially when negotiating the many, many, many, many steps! He always ensured that everybody was happy & didn't feel rushed which made it a good experience all around!
The best bit of advice is to train for the thousands of steps that you will walk on, especially 'step down' exercises to lessen the burden on your knees or use poles if you are confident with them. There were 3 walking & 1 sightseeing group at the hotel at the same time as us so be prepared for itinerary changes-we ended up walking 3 back to back 7 mile walks which can be challenging! Come prepared & have a fantastic time!
