Full on tour

This country was much more than I expected. The scenery is jaw dropping beautiful lake. The Roman remains are well preserved and well presented with lots of information.
The people are lovely and so helpful.

Most Inspirational Moment

The local lunch prepared for us was just lovely so fresh with all the vegetables from their garden.

Artur Lumani our guide was very knowledgeable and always there for us. He really was a pleasure to have as a guide!

Advice for Potential Travellers

Some of the accommodation is a bit dated but they are all clean. Breakfasts in some places were poor but Artur always supplied us with fresh cherries which were delicious...

Speed dating four countries

This is an action packed tour of four countries and their capital cities. Each city tour is guided by a knowledgeable local . With the city tourism, there is plenty of opportunity for visiting museums, galleries, churches and shops. This is balanced by walks in the national parks and visits to the Estonian islands with the opportunity of swimming in the baltic sea. The tour sets a frantic pace, and we saw lots of fascinating stuff in the 10 days of touring.

Most Inspirational Moment

There were a few moments outstanding for being unexpected. We encountered horses on a sand spit. We met a guy who cleared land, built a house, grew crops, and made wine - amazing! I enjoyed an organ recital in Riga cathedral. Under the usual tourist stuff, most moving was the history of these countries and their occupation during WWII and after. There are national and individual stories, and they are fascinating.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Fantastic! There is a ton of organisation in this trip, and thanks to Andrius it all went smoothly. He spent long-days with us and was both informative and amusing.

Advice for Potential Travellers

The capitals are all interesting and have beautiful old towns - Tallin was my favourite. There is a lot of city walking, and an appreciation of architecture, history and churches will help your enjoyment. Several of our group said they would like to go back to give more time to them. The walking is enjoyable, but the countries are very flat! The walks are coastal, forests and lake - definitely not mountain and waterfall landscapes! I went because I was interested in exploring a relatively unknow (to me!) corner of Europe. I was very impressed with how much we saw and the variety packed into this trip.

Meeting the challenge of the Tour du Mont Blanc

A challenging, but ultimately rewarding trek with awe inspiring views of an amazing and stunningly beautiful mountain landscapes. A real test of fitness on most days. An ability to adapt to testing conditions on each day’s walk and while camping (during heavy thunderstorms at times) definitely needed. However once we had finished, the sense of achievement was just so satisfying. A memorable trip we will never forget.

Most Inspirational Moment

Views of Mont Blanc on good weather days. Meeting the challenge of climbing high peaks and cols. Spending time with friendly and supportive like minded travellers. Multitudes of wildflowers. Great food.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Friendly, interesting and with a good sense of humour. Essential at times!

Advice for Potential Travellers

Be fit for several long, hard and challenging days. Be prepared for all weathers. We encountered low lying snow in July, tricky river crossings, overnight thunderstorms and heavy rain. But also brilliant sunshine! Camping not always easy, so a positive attitude and sense of humour useful. But a trip of a lifetime, made even more fulfilling by overcoming all challenges. A real adventure, not to be missed.

A Very enjoyable week.

It was very hot in the week I just did this holiday but nonethrless it was great.

Most Inspirational Moment

Being with others

Michaele was enthusiastic and I enjoyed his leadership and company

A fantastic trip

I’ve now done this trip two times and both experiences were fantastic. The wildlife is exceptional – an incredible number of elephants, lions, leopards (the first time we saw 12, this time we saw three mating), wild dogs, hyenas, masses of antelope, even a serval. The list could go on. Botswana’s low density tourism means that even in the major reserves you never feel surrounded by other people and most of the time the group is on its own.

Both times I did the camping departure which has the inevitable discomforts of camping but repays with the extraordinary experience of being out in the bush. The camping team were fantastic and couldn’t have done more to make sure we had a great time.

Most Inspirational Moment

Actually so many but Victoria Falls at sunrise (definitely worth the 5.30am wake up to have the place to yourself), seeing leopards mating and the elemental feel of being out in the bush were all incredible.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Brian was outstanding. Hugely experienced, he was a bottomless mine of information and also very funny and adept at managing the group.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Especially in July it gets really cold during the night and in the morning. Be prepared to wrap up warm. Credit cards were more widely welcomed than we expected.

TTI: Walks of the Baltics and Finland

We had a brilliant trip in July seeing the wonderful Baltic countries. The weather was very kind, the group and our guide wonderful. We all learnt so much about the hard and dramatic history the Baltic countries have experienced and their hard won independence.

Most Inspirational Moment

Too many to mention but real highlights were the Cold War museum (Lithuania) and the optional tour of the Occupational Museum in Riga. Beautiful walks in Latvia and Estonia.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our tour leader Andrius was brilliant and a great guide for Vilnius. He worked hard at making everything go smoothly.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Do see the Baltics…

Absolutely wonderful!

I had a wonderful trip to Romania with Exodus. I would highly recommend this trip, it was great fun and very insightful. Overall an absolutely fantastic adventure.

Most Inspirational Moment

The visit to the bear sanctuary was very interesting and humbling.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our group leader was fantastic. He was clearly very passionate about his country, and was extremely well-organised. Nothing was too much trouble for him, and he was clearly very well-prepared.

Advice for Potential Travellers

If you suffer from hayfever take some antihistamines with you. The pollen count can get very high in the meadows in summer.

Absolutely Stunning

Pictures don’t capture the unreal beauty of this trip! I took them anyway but by our last hiking day I was in tears from the accomplishment, the energy of our group, and the beauty of the valley and mountains. This is a trip of a lifetime!

I always felt I was pretty active but this trip challenged me in ways I wasn’t sure I could finish, but am so happy to say I DID! We left smiles, tears, and friendships in the mountains. Just an incredible experience and our guide, Marià, is a beast who was turning around to do it all over again in 2 days! Absolutely impressive and he was an incredible guide that kept us motivated, safe, and smiling. Only a few Spanish minutes till the top.

Most Inspirational Moment

Our last hiking day when we hit the first hut I was in tears. It was a crystal clear day, the paraglides were out, the flowers were blooming, people were smiling, it was surreal to have so much beauty all around.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Bring gear you’ll need to be comfortable. Training is important but tenacity takes you where training didn’t. We had folks in our group who barely trained and killed it! I felt ready for each day but having gear to be comfortable in layers was key.

Breathtaking

The scenery in the Chamonix valley is stunning and this trip is well named as it certainly highlighted the highlights. Our group stayed in Chalet Chapula and we couldn’t have asked for better hosts or chalet companions.
Laura and Gonzalo provided us with excellent meals every day and were very approachable and helpful. Les Houches is a busy but laid back area of Chamonix and a great location to start our walks from.

Most Inspirational Moment

Every day was different and presented us with stunning views throughout the hikes but the lunch stop on L'Aiguillette des Posettes was breathtaking with views towards Switzerland.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Adrian was a fantastic leader with a brilliant sense of humour and a great rapport with everyone in our group. His knowledge of the routes and his repartee as we walked was a joy.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Mer de Glace is a fantastic option on the free day and well worth the cost of the short train journey up from Chamonix.
