great that the trip is confirmed, is our 1st group travel adventure. reckon a kit bag and day pack should be enough, any thoughts ?

Hi

I hope you dont mind me making contact but am thinking of booking this trip to go this summer.....  I believe you went on March; no doubt you had a fab time but was wondering if you would recommend it to a single traveller.

If you have any comments, I'd truely welcome them before I go ahead an make my booking.

Oh, and was the kit bag good value and did most people have them?

Thanks a lot

Jane

malanelaine

hi jane, seems to be some confusion on date of travel,! we don't go until november !! ps no problem with you getting in touch a about size of kit bags, best thing you can do is just go for it like us,!

Jane51

Hi Melanelaine, thanks for your reply.  Not sure how/where things have gone wrong but the top message in this 'trail', illustrates your departure date to be 7th March!  Well, thats great as you've now got it to look forward to, rather than look back on!  I'm hoping to go in July - phew, its gonna be hot!

Thanks again

Jane

malanelaine

hi jane. yeah, will be hot though if you do go for it take a fleece jkt or simaler. we went gambia a yr ago & if morocco the same, allthough not bad the temp can be quite cool at night.

firehair

I am doing this trip in Nov (depart 7th) anyone else going ???

malanelaine

firehair

hi there I am going with my sister, yes i would think we are all on the same flight...... Vicky.

malanelaine

where u at ? us 2 in wigan, decided the best option was 2 get there the day b4 we go.

firehair

hi there I'm in Scotland but my sister lives in Leeds, so I will stay with her the night before then drive down to Heathrow

malanelaine

what baggage are you taking ? we are taking 55 ltr ruck sack each and a day sack and 3 season sleeping bag

Jane51

I keep getting copies of your messages as I joined in this message trail sometime ago. I'm feeling a little jealous as you have your trip in front of you, and I've already been!

I had the most fabulous time, and you will all too - it's the most wonderful two weeks, with so much to see and do. If you have the same guide as us, Rachid, he will ensure that you all have a lot of fun, see a lot and get the most out of his vibrant country. I dont think you could ask for a better and more knowlegeable guide; please tell him 'the old lady from Oxford, says Hi'!

If there is anything any of you want to know, just yell - I truely wish I was coming with you.

Take care. Jane

firehair

thanks Jane, I am really looking forward to it now, I have already got my kit piled up and sorted out LOL, just gotta get the sleeping bag out of the loft and see if it needs cleaning.......... Vicky.

malanelaine

hi jane, gr8 2 here you had such a good time. did you take the opportunity 2 sleep outside when in dessert ? every thing we are packiing is loose and comfy. like yourself vicky, our kit is ready 2 rock, lol. alan & elaine.

firehair

I'm on the countdown now 41 days.........!!! LOL

firehair

malanelaine

firehair

Hi there, No, this is my first trip with Exodus, I have done the others with my sister/husband .A different sister than the one that is going on this trip with me. Should be great fun !!!

firehair

I wonder if all the others that are going are in our age group ? ie; 50s. hope they're fit.........LOL. although I don't think its a strenuous tour.

Jane51

Hi, yes, we did indeed sleep out in the desert - and soooooo lovely it was too! You're going to have a great time and many experiences.

malanelaine

this trip is easy on a fitness level, all i can say is that its full. been africa b4 ? did ya get any hassle from bumsters etc etc at casablanca airport jane ? dont bother us, just handy 2 be prepared, lol

Jane51

Nothing was a problem - as like any buy airport, you just have to be aware of whats going on around you but we certainly had no hassle whatsoever. Rachid was there waiting for us and everything was very well organised.

firehair

Thats good to know we're met at the airport. hey you got a yellow star as well. ! Alan/Elaine.

malanelaine

feel important now. with our gold star, hahaha. will b gr8 fun at heathrow trying 2 spot our 12 fellow travellers. am half expecting snow caps in high atlas though mite b a little early. was there a chance 2 catch a game off footie with the local kads, visit a school etc etc jane, so many ?? 2 ask with out spoiling suprises, lol.

firehair

I was hoping more people from the trip would have been on this 'chat' forum, have re-sorted my kit !!! i expect to have re-done it about 10 times before I finally pack it ....lol.

malanelaine

lol, if it aint in our bags when we get there, will get it there. anything like gambia, there always somebody 2 sell ya something. yeah, chat forim is a bit quite but still 5wk for folk 2 join in.

firehair

Got loads of room left in my bag, so that means I can bring loads of junk back..!!!!.....LOL

malanelaine

got the same plan this end, cant pass up the chance 2 barter 4 summit that will never b used, lol. we taking a mix off cash & cards as not sure how available cash machines etc are when in remote areas, jane, can u help on that ? alan&elaine

Jane51

Hi
I took Euros and exchanged them at airport for local currency - ths was a very easy process. I didn't use cash machines although some in our team did, and I didnt hear of any problems. If you dont travel often however, I would suggest that you advise both your bank and c/c company that you are going, as some I beliecve, refuse random payments as a security issue (if they're not used to seeing foreign payments on specific accounts). I travel often and my bank and c/c company are used to seeing payments from different countries but I do know people you have indeed had card payments refused.

malanelaine

many thanks. will take euro then, our bank is pretty much used 2 random payments from strange places though always tell c/c company when on our travels. we do love 2 mix it when away, eat local food, drink local drink etc. get a chance 2 try there beer etc ? alan&elaine
