Adventure Holidays to Wadi Rum

The Wadi Rum is otherworldly: a copper valley forged into the sandstone and granite rock of southwest Jordan. You’ve probably seen it already. The desert scenery has been used in a string of Hollywood blockbusters, including the Star Wars franchise, The Martian, Dune and, perhaps mostly famously of all, in Lawrence of Arabia, the 1962 classic about the British lieutenant T.E. Lawrence who is etched into local folklore.

Many of our small-group adventures to Jordan visit Wadi Rum. Take a jeep safari into the dunes and bed down there for the evening, staying in a a private Bedouin camp. Appreciate the changing colours of the sand from sunset to sunrise; after dark, gaze upwards as a galaxy of stars puts on a night-long lightshow.

Walking & Trekking

This Jordan adventure was the perfect blend of history, adventure, and natural beauty. We cycled through stunning landscapes, from the rose-red canyons of Petra, where ancient wonders appear around every corner, to the vast, cinematic desert of Wadi Rum, under a sky full of stars. Along the way, we enjoyed gems like Aqaba, with its warm Red Sea waters and vibrant coral reefs, and the Dead Sea Resort, where floating in the salt-rich water was the ultimate reset after days of exploration.

The trip was thoughtfully designed, combining active adventure with cultural immersion.

Jordan is an incredible country filled with breathtaking landscapes, delicious food, and welcoming people.

There is no better way to get to know a country than by talking to its people. Our group was privileged to have Amer with us. Amer is a skilled storyteller and a encyclopedia of knowledge. He encouraged us to ask questions and didn’t shy away from providing honest answers. Beyond his historical knowledge, Amer has a deep love for his country. He is proud to be Jordanian and that passion radiates in every conversation and in every place we visited. I count myself very fortunate to have experienced Jordan through Amer’s eyes.

I am a seasoned traveler and Jordan is one of my top three favourite trips ever. I encourage anyone who has thought about visiting Jordan to book the trip now. You won’t regret it.

Emilie Tobin A Week in Jordan

What an amazingly beautiful country Jordan is. I would encourage anyone to visit. The tour took in a wide range of activities- history and religion, beautiful vistas and walks, local experience such as a hammam and meal with family (many were concerned this may feel exploitive but in truth you dinned as you would in a restaurant and was a nice alternative) . The drive round the desert was breathtaking, and sitting by a camp fire as the skies darkened in Wadi Rum memorable. The tour was not unduly fast paced allowing for down time – which for me is essential as a break from work. Jordan felt safe and welcoming – sadly empty because of conflict that doesn’t really touch Jordan (for tourists ) despite its proximity – so both wonderful to have places like Petra to oneself (almost) but heartbreaking to see the impact on a country and it’s people.
