Adventure Holidays in England

From stunning national parks that have inspired some of the world’s best literary geniuses to spectacular Areas of Natural Beauty that were born above a bedrock of Jurassic limestone, holidays in England are nothing short of enchanting. With its gentle rolling hills, expansive coastal paths, and miles of ancient woodland, you’ll soon find that England is the perfect place to explore on foot or by bike.

Our walking holidays in England give travellers the opportunity to explore the country’s best lakes, craggy hilltops, and lush pine forest trails off the beaten track. On our Literary Self-Guided Walking in the Lake District, discover the storybook realm of rolling hills, lakes and fells that have inspired the likes of Arthur Ransome, William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter. With more than 6,000 archaeological sites of interest, including Roman roads, historic stone circles and traditional country estates, this adventure in one of England’s largest National Parks will leave an indelible imprint on your memory. Our self-guided Jewels of the Jurassic Coast Walk allows you to explore an area that encompasses 185 million years of the Earth’s history, taking you from the South West Coast Path towards the iconic Durdle Door, Durlston Country Park and the Old Harry Rocks just beyond Swanage.

When it comes to cycling holidays in England, why not enjoy the circular ride on our Classic Cotswolds Cycle that encompasses some of the Cotswold’s most quintessentially English villages from the quaint Bourton-on-the-Water and Chipping Campden to the ancient Saxon capital of Winchcombe. With notable stops including Sudeley Castle, Broadway Tower Country Park and Snowshill Manor, this trip offers the perfect glimpse into medieval England. If you’re looking to uncover the country’s Roman history, our 8-night Oxford to Bath Cycle gives you the opportunity to explore Chedworth’s Roman Villa and the Corinium Museum in Cirencester alongside the “City of dreaming spires”, Oxford.

The Hadrian’s wall trip was a perfect mix of hiking and touring the highlights of Northern England and the Lake District. Our guide Paul Cannon was very knowledgeable of the area being a native of the region. The places we stayed were inviting and comfortable.Overall the trip was all we expected and more.
Maureen Y Castles, Hadrian's Wall & the Lake District

2 lovely walks of 5. Disappointing accommodation. Only one was to the expected standard that is described. When I complained by email they did upgrade me to a better room that was empty but I wonder why I wasn’t given that room in the first place. As a solo woman traveller I did not feel comfortable in 2 of my 3 accommodations. Self guided hiking app was good. The town the walk started from was very rough!

First of all, our tour guide, Dan was fabulous! And we were impressed by the beautiful accommodations that we had, and the scenery was amazing. We liked being able to have some time to ourselves in the evenings, and explore the towns that we were staying in.
