Hi there, I'm really looking forward to this trip in just over 5 weeks :-) I love South Africa and the wildlife out there, though I am a bit nervous as this is the first time I've travelled on my own. I'm leaving on 1 October from Heathrow. Just booked my train ticket to get to the Airport, think its going to come round really quickly now. Vikki

Hi Vikki. I've travelled on my own with Exodus for the first time to Peru in 2008. Last year I was in Nepal again with Exodus. On both occassions I felt really well looked after and met wonderful people on both trips. I booked my flight from Glasgow just this morning. Looking forward to meeting you.

Thats good to hear from someone who has experienced these trips before, I won't panic that I'll be stranded at Jo'Berg airport with no one to meet me! Sounds like you've seen a fair bit of the world, have you been on safari before? That is definately the bit I'm looking forward to the most, though the scenary sounds amazing all the way through. A friend of mine has been to the mountains and tells me they're spectacular, though I will have to scramble rather than climb ladders - don't have a very good head for heights. Vikki

Hi to you both the solo travellers.

We are departing from heathrow on the 1st October after a train journey from grimsby.

There are four of us but only two have been on an exodus trip before.

We are all keen walkers and are really looking forward to the wildlife and scenery.

Look forward to seeing you.

Look out for the walking boots at heathrow!

Hi All,

Good to know there will be others on the same flight as me from Heathrow (I'm assuming you're on the 20.00 one!) You'll spot me i'll be the one struggling with the big yellow holdall ;-) I think I am going to have to reassess what I'm going to bring! Vikki

Hi all. I'm part of this trip too. I'm really looking forward to it. I'm relatively new to hiking but I love it. South Africa has been a dream destination for me and now it's coming through. I'm looking forward to seeing the country and the wildlife. I'm travelling solo, and although I've travelled solo before I've never done a trip like this. I'm a little nervous but I know once I get there and meet the group I'll be fine. I'm heading out on Sept 30th out of Dublin and will meet up with the group on Sat morning. Getting my final packing list together in the next day or so. :)

Look forward to meeting you fellow solo traveller a week Saturday :-) You will love South Africa, its been 3 years since I was last out there and the World Cup has really reminded me of how beautiful it is. I just hope I've remembered everything I need to put on my list not having done this kind of holiday before. Have to say the first lodge looks much better than I was expecting :-)

Looking forward to meeting you to Vikki. I'm sure it is a beautiful place. All the pics and tv shows I've seem make it look awesome. Can't wait to experience it in person. As long as you have your tickets and passport anything else can be replaced if you forget it.

The big yellow holdall shouldn't be difficult to miss but I bet I do. I've never met anyone on the same trip as me other than at the airport at the other end! I'll be looking out for you. My holdall is boring black I'm afraid but getting equally more bulky and heavy. Really getting excited now! Yeah! Sylvia
