Hi Amy

My first time on my own too, which is why I've opted for this short trip, but visiting the middleast has always been a dream place.

I've got everything organised, spent a small fortune in millets at the weekend, but got everything at almost half price, there was a massive sale on.

Look forward to meeting you!x

ah wow so you havew been a busy lady then!  what did you end up buying from millets??  my parents visited Jordan last year and said it was breath taking, i cant wait, im off to poland next monday and come back on the 20th May so havent got much time to get everything ready for Jordan,

Im flying with the rest of the group from Heathrow so would definatly be up for meeting up with others before hand,

have you travelled before to many places, this is my year for travelling, ive been to Rome this year and have booked up china in October to walk the great wall, on my own again, eek!

Blimey - you may as well set up camp at the airport for the rest of this year. lol.

I bought a new bag - shoes - fleece - torch - binoculars (for trip to india next year) - socks - only went in for the torch - nightmare!!!

Really jealous about your Rome and china trips - my sister is doing the great wall this week, shes doing a half marathon for charity - she lives in australia and i went to visit her a couple of years ago - amazing country - i thought us brits were the king of fish and chips, but australia takes the crown - apart from oz, not really been anywhere exciting, all starts now for me - hoping to do the tiger tiger trip with explore next year - apart from that i go to spain quite often as im half catalan and the majority of my family are there.

When all the final trip details come through we can arrange to meet at heathrow, maybe some more people would have joined our convo by then too.

Have a great time in poland - lucky!!

Hi everyone!

We will meet at Amman in the Hotel. I will be flying on BMI flight (hope the vulcan allows!). I have been traveling many times before with either Exodus and Explore and expect this short trip to be as interesting as any of the others I have done.

National Geographic Magazine has a nice article on Petra published not so long ago as well as one on the "adventures" of T. E. Lawrence on the Arabian desert that are worth reading.

 See you all soon, Pedro

Hi everyone,

I am really looking forward to this trip too. Petra has been on my "must see" list for too long! I'm happy to meet at Heathrow too.

Look forward to meeting  you all.

Hi Lesley - nice to hear from you  - not long to go now, I picked my documents up today so finally know the flight times. I haven't been to heathrow in years so if you or anyone has any ideas of a good spot to meet at terminal 3???

After security, there is a Borders Bookshop. How about meeting outside there? Not sure what time that will be though. I plan to be at the airport about 2pm. Check in and security could take a while, so we could say outside Borders at 3.30pm, allowing extra time?
