Beautiful Jordan

We had Jordan on our wish list for a long time but world (and personal) events and previously, lack of availability, stopped us booking. We got there in October and it was everything and so much more than we had imagined. If it is on your list, or even if it wasn’t, go, it is amazing.

Most Inspirational Moment

Every day there was something ! The markets in Amman were wonderfully loud and colourful. I loved Mount Nebo, Bethany was serene, the desert trip and camel ride was such fun and of course there is Petra. This is not just a one wow moment, I had no idea of just how big, amazing, beautiful the whole site is. From the whole trip though, the Jordanian people. They are friendly, helpful, funny, rightly proud of their country and happy to share the culture and so much more. Everywhere, absolutely everywhere, and in every interaction we were met with a smile, kindness and were welcomed to their country.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Mikhled's love and passion to share beautiful Jordan was very evident. He was organised, there is a lot to see and do in a week, but with enough time at all the sites and activities. He was always available, guiding us with plenty, but not overwhelming amounts of information. He moved us with suggestions, but not instructions, giving us the information for the highlights and headlines but also the smaller, often very special things that interested us personally and always with a smile.

Advice for Potential Travellers

This is a varied and mixed trip with sightseeing, amazing history and also activities like the desert time and Dead Sea giving some downtime. We went a day early as the direct flight gets in quite late. The hotel was really well located to get out and about, close to landmarks, museums and the markets. We had a Get Your Guide walking tour for a couple of hours which was also really good fun and a very good use of the extra time, but it was also very easy to just wander, find food etc on our own. We felt perfectly safe the whole time. The Jordanians are ready and waiting to welcome you, get it booked up ! ( One other little tip - take elasticated waists, the food everywhere is so good ! )

Great well run trip in a lovely area

This was our first time in India and we wanted a trip that gave us a flavour of the country, we certainly felt like it delivered that.
There was quite a bit of traveling between places either on a coach or trains, but this gave us an opportunity to see he landscape along the way, or rest. The coach was comfortable and air conditioned, the trains far exceeded our expectations,
travelling in the executive class carriage, there was plenty of leg room with food served on board.

Ajay our guide was excellent, everything ran smoothly, he was well informed and sorted out any minor issues quickly, he had a great sense of humour and we had some real laughs with him.

The places we ate at were all very good, and as far as I know no one got ‘dellybelly’.

There are some very early starts but they were necessary to see particular things like a flower market or the early morning boat trip on the Ganges.

If you want to see a lot in a short space of time then this is a great trip to go on.

Most Inspirational Moment

I loved Jaipur with the pink buildings, and especially enjoyed the walk though the flower market, visit to a temple and eating samosas and drinking chia tea on the street. The cookery lesson and meal at a locals house one evening was also very good. The early morning safari ride at Ranthambore was also a highlight, when we saw a tiger cross the road, but even if you're not lucky enough to see tigers, there is plenty of other wildlife and birdlife to see.

Ajay was excellent, organised and informative with a good sense of humour.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Depending on the time of year you go, I would pack light, even though we didn't take loads we could have cut down. It was easy to wash things out and get them dry overnight, also you need to be able to carry your bag through the train stations. We found the people to be friendly , and interested in asking us questions. With the ATMs you can only draw out 10,000 rupees at a time, but this was fine as they were relatively easy to find along the way.

Jordan: So Many Stories

Having visited the Wadi Rum and Petra before, this trip was an opportunity revisit and also to learn more about the rest of the country. 10,0 00 years of history was the background to learning about Nabatean, Greek, Roman and Byzantine influence in the region. Overlying this were some of the places and stories behind the three Abrahamic religions that developed in that part of the World.

Most Inspirational Moment

Difficult to identify the most inspiring moment since this really comes from putting together the development of events over time. In terms of place, the expanse of the Wadi Rum and the magnificence of what remains in the huge Petra site must top the list.

Thoughts on Group Leader

The enthusiasm and knowledge of the group leader was inspiring. It was so important in understanding how Jordan has developed and bringing the history to life. Amer just loved to be challenged and hear questions about his country. In addition to his knowledge he was keen to help with any problems and engaged closely with the group. We would not have got half so much from the trip without him.

Advice for Potential Travellers

If you love travel, have any interest in history and enjoy amazing landscapes, just go. There can be few places like it.

Three countries, countless experiences and memories to last a lifetime

A fantastic way to experience Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand in one trip. The itinerary offered a brilliant mix of bustling cities, rural life, incredible food, beautiful scenery and some truly remarkable historical sites. From the Mekong Delta to the temples of Angkor and the energy of Bangkok, there was something different around every corner. Some of the history was sobering and difficult to take in, but it was an important part of understanding the countries we were visiting. A great group, wonderful local experiences and so much packed into two weeks. Highly recommended.

Most Inspirational Moment

Angkor Wat and the surrounding temples were an obvious highlight, but what made the trip so special was the sheer variety of experiences. From travelling along the Mekong Delta and getting a glimpse of everyday life in local communities to exploring ancient temples and learning about Cambodia's more recent history, there was so much to take in. It was a real privilege to experience places and cultures so different from our own.

Thoughts on Group Leader

We had three leaders, one in each country, and having local people share their knowledge and experiences added so much to the holiday. Each country has its own culture, history and character, and our leaders helped bring that to life in a way that simply visiting the sights independently couldn't. They helped everything run smoothly while giving us a much better understanding of the places and people we encountered. Thank you to all three for helping make it such a memorable adventure.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Go with an open mind, embrace the differences and make the most of every opportunity to try something new. There's a lot packed into two weeks, including some longer journeys, but the variety is what makes this trip so worthwhile. Be prepared for the heat, drink plenty of water and don't be afraid to try the local food (including the spiders!). Take time to appreciate the smaller experiences along the way, not just the famous sights. And make sure you have a camera ready!

Deserves all the love it gets and more

Sri Lanka is a magical country that over-delivered against every expectation we had before embarking on our adventure. The trip itself includes a huge range of inspiring activities. Some are big, some are just the little in-between moments, but all have their own magic. I genuinely can’t think of a moment we didn’t really enjoy.

It’s a country with a fairly recent challenging history, and we learned on our holiday that some of those challenges haven’t gone away. Despite this, the country exudes happiness. Our excellent guide, Roshan, told us this was simply because the one thing Sri Lankans have is time. I don’t really buy that. I just think it’s culturally ingrained.

Most Inspirational Moment

There are so many highlights to choose from, but as is often the case for me, it's the smaller, unplanned moments that stick out. So, whilst spotting both a leopard and a sloth bear in a torrential downpour, and dodging leeches in another downpour, were memorable, I think it will be turning up at the outdoor museum on Children's Day that I'll remember most. I don't think I've ever seen so many happy, well-behaved children in one place. All of them waving at us and practising their English. I lost track of how many times we said hello. It felt special, almost like royalty. Actually, I want to mention one more thing. Playing local games was an unexpected highlight and a real bonding moment for the family. It felt really, really authentic. It was particularly amusing when Roshan decided to show off his cricket skills, which we assumed was some form of light revenge for England's recent victory over Sri Lanka.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Roshan was amazing. I've since learned that he's award-winning and has helped shape elements of the adventure we went on, which doesn't surprise me at all. He felt less like a guide and more like a knowledgeable co-traveller sharing the journey with us. He has so much to offer and an ability to share his knowledge in a way that genuinely engages everyone. I can't speak highly enough of him. Thank you, Roshan!

Advice for Potential Travellers

My advice? Embrace every moment. Look out of the windows when travelling. Opt in to the extra activities if you can. The white-water rafting was nowhere near as fast-flowing and dramatic as I'd feared. It was fun, felt perfectly safe, and was still exhilarating. Just book it. The country needs more tourists (it was quite quiet while we were there), and you won't regret coming here. And finally, heed your guide's advice on things like the weather. They really do know best. It's also slightly surprising just how many national holidays Sri Lanka has (40, I think), and that these tend to be dry days, as in no alcohol. My advice? Embrace that too.

Highlights of Portugal

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Portugal. We learned so much and definitely got to see a lot of the country in a short amount of time. Our tour leader, Carla Costa, was absolutely brilliant!!!

We really liked spending the night in Obidos so very close to the castle walls.

Carla Costa was the best leader we could have asked for. She is so knowledgeable and you can tell she absolutely loves her country. She answered all of our questions and was a delight to be around. She’s a very positive person and truly made our trip that much more enjoyable!

Go see Portugal-there is so much beauty, history and port as well 😊

Incredible Cycling Adventure

My cycling tour of Sicily was absolutely fantastic! The landscapes and seascapes were breathtaking, the food and wine were delicious, and the hotels offered a comfortable retreat after long days of cycling. The guide, Mattia, and support van guide, Sebastiano, were exceptional—knowledgeable, friendly, professional, and consistently attentive to our safety on the roads and in every city and town we visited. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to discover Sicily. Although my first cycling tour was challenging, it was a tremendous success and an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended!

Most Inspirational Moment

Reaching Portopalo, Sicily’s southeastern most point, where the Ionian and Mediterranean seas meet and the island’s maritime heritage and dramatic coastal scenery come together. Learning about Operation Husky, where allied forces from the UK, Canada and the USA launched their invasion of Sicily in 1943, was especially interesting.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Mattia Volpicella was an outstanding group leader! He was friendly, funny, and professional at all times, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere throughout our tour. Our safety and enjoyment were always his top priorities, and I felt well looked after every step of the way. His knowledge, positive attitude, and genuine care for the group made the cycling tour of Sicily an unforgettable experience. I couldn’t have asked for a better leader!

Advice for Potential Travellers

Be prepared for some challenging cycling, but don’t let that put you off! The stunning scenery, delicious food and wine, charming towns, and excellent guides make every kilometre worthwhile. Enjoy the journey, and take in everything beautiful Sicily has to offer!

Fabulous experience in Turkey

Essential Turkey was a great tour. Started in Istanbul, a fascinating
City. Got to see a lot of the famous ancient sites on our trip. Relaxed in a small town on the Mediterranean and experienced a balloon ride over the amazing landscape of Cappadocia . The tour is jam packed! Great group of people which totally added to the trip.

Ozgur our group leader was amazing. Very organized,warm and friendly with a great sense of humor. His knowledge and sharing of Turkish history and culture really added to our trip.

Advice for Potential Travellers

There are some long days in bus, but interspersed with visits to places and food and bathroom breaks. Bus was very comfortable
