MVA CYCLING IN ALBANIA
This tour was the first Cycling holiday by Exodus and I am sure it will prove to be very successful if this last week was anything to go by.
Most Inspirational Moment
Successfully cycling/climbing up 1000m to the Llogara Pass. It was physically challenging and it helped to have the correct physiological approach.
The Beauty of the countryside from the Snow capped mountains, the River Gorges and to the Coastline.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Armand and his team from Cycle Albania were very supportive of all group members and were very anxious that we should all be satisfied. Nothing was too much trouble. They were well organised.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Yes, forget about your or anybodies else's perception of Albania because you will be proved wrong.
Whilst rated Moderate the optional ride on the last day requires a certain level of fitness.

Most Inspirational Moment
Cooking class at the Agri-turism hotel
Thoughts on Group Leader
Thomas was very helpful, well informed, spoke good Italian and English. Put up with a couple of awkward clients with humour and discretion. A joy to be on his trip
Advice for Potential Travellers
Take insect repellent, we all got badly bitten during a freak sand fly moment at the beach

Be challenged and inspired amid jawdropping scenery. Even if you're not an athlete........
This was a trip that surpassed my expectations. I am not terribly athletic and i was concerned about the cycling but in the end I managed well and the bus was there to help at the hardest bits….It combined stunning scenery, fascinating history, a friendly group that gelled together under the care of exemplary guides.
Most Inspirational Moment
If I had to pick one it was cycling along the roads across from the majestic Nemercka mountains. This alpine scenery was truly breathtaking and the more enjoyable for the absence of tourists and crowds on the roads. The route across to the Ionian sea, through citrus groves, little towns and finally glimpsing the ocean in the distance was wonderful. I loved our private visits to Butrint and GiroKastra and the warm welcome from everyone wherever we went.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Armand was beyond exemplary. Always considerate about our needs and as courteous at the end of the day as at the beginning, nothing was too much trouble and it was evident that it came from his heart. He is a leader who loves and is proud to share his country with visitors and ensure everyone gets the most from their visit.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Take a comfy gel seat. Keep your day accessories to a minimum. Using packing cubes to help pack and repack every day. Above all don't be put off because you don't fit society's image of an athlete or cyclist. Yes you need to be able to ride a bicycle, you don't need to be Bradley Wiggins.
I'm candidly somewhat overweight and I did this trip and I loved every second. You will get all the help and support you need.

Spice Trails of Kerala
A good introduction to trekking. Good that it was followed with a range other ativities in the second week, which made it feel longer that a 14 day holiday. Call me fussy but a hotel with a pool would have been good at some point – it was hot!
Most Inspirational Moment
All of the trek. Definitely off the tourist route and very beautiful
Thoughts on Group Leader
Harish was a very good leader. We had a number of discussions on the cultural context of India, which opened up a number of insites. We also had a very helpful 'trainee' leader, (BIbi?) on the trek
Advice for Potential Travellers
The trip notes are a very accurate summary

Tour De Sri Lanka
My trip was second to none. Despite being the only Aussie, I felt right at home with the group.
The natural beauty of Sri Lanka and it’s people was amazing. Cheers and children along town roads and in villages, spurred me on.
The weather, mountains, beaches, lakes, rice paddies, tea plantations, animals, water falls and country spirit surrounded us always. Not to mention best daal (and other) curries!
The guide was superb, ensuring that all group tastes and trip features were met, and the group, my room mate and driver, bike mechanics and assistants were the best.
I’ll treasure the holiday, the memories and the people. We were also quite lucky to be in Sri Lanka during the Lunar or Buddhist New Year and got to experience those celebrations.
It wasn’t just bike riding. The beach, visiting a gem museum, tea factory, spice gardens (with a complimentary massage!) and a jeep safari at Yala National Park, were among the few extras we did, along with shopping at Kandy or Galle, and Elephant riding, and going to an elephant orphanage. Temples, ruins and hikes and much more, jam packed into 14 days.
Most Inspirational Moment
The Elephants and Mountains.
Thoughts on Group Leader
The cream of the crop.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Consider Tips.
Mosquito repellents.
You may wait a few days for Laundry facilities
Train before you go if and when you can!
Travel light so you can buy a lot more.

What's not to like?
This is a great trip. There is plenty of variety to delight both newcomers to walking and the more experienced. Excellent mountain ranges with stunning views, deep lush valleys, carpets of wild flowers and plenty of animal life. Throw in delightful villages with a long history and of course the excellent cuisine and coffee. There is plenty on offer, just go and enjoy it!
Most Inspirational Moment
Its difficult to pick out a single moment, but I lean towards standing still as a stone watching the wild mountain sheep herds. But coming across our first fire salamanders was close.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Sara is an absolute delight. She will go the extra mile to give you the best possible trip in any weather. She has a great enthusiasm which is infectious.
Advice for Potential Travellers
When you ask the locals for a Doppio Espresso, they will query you...it's against local customs to drink string coffee after lunch...Just say 'Forte' in response.

Discover Sri Lanka
Had 2 brilliant weeks discovering Sri Lanka in our 2nd Exodus holiday. A brilliant mix of sight seeing, fun, shopping and relaxing. Exodus organisation is superb. Guide was so helpful and accommodating – nothing was too much trouble.
Most Inspirational Moment
There are too many excellent moments to name just one, but enjoyed the cycling day, learning about the coconuts and the lunch in the forest.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Group leader was super. Very friendly and accommodating. Excellent knowledge about the island, the history and the places we visited. Nothing was too much trouble. Sometimes the tricky Sri Lankan names/words/pronunciation were difficult to understand.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Bring a pair of binoculars - great for the National Parks and whale watching. Ladies might like to carry a foldable fan - I found this of great benefit as the humidity can be very high. Next time I would carry a damp flannel too so I could dry my head, face and neck in the heat. Bring a double pack of playing cards for some fun evenings. I didn't take a hairdryer as all hotels either have one in the room or they loan you one.
