Best holiday ever!
This holiday combined the best of everything as far as I was concerned: a beautiful country with friendly people, great cycling, delicious food and a really good group of people we were lucky enough to travel with. Looked after by a great team too.
Most Inspirational Moment
Getting to the top of the Hai Van Pass. I nearly gave up but so glad I made it. Also, like so many other people have written, cycling through little villages and children running out to wave and shout hello - it's the nearest I'll ever get to being a celebrity! It's also difficult to miss the fairly recent 'American War' and that brought some poignant moments too.

Long was truly inspirational! He is a very professional leader, funny, knowledgeable, good cyclist and we all respected him. His organisational skills were second to none.
Advice for Potential Travellers
It really pays to get fit before this trip. I would call myself a weekend cycler and I had built up my level of cycling before the trip to do cycle rides of 30 miles. If I'd had more time, I would have liked to have done even more because nothing can prepare you for the heat. Also padded shorts and chamois cream were a must!

Walking in Mallorca
A fantastic week of walking on the beautiful island of Mallorca. Every walk was different and spectacular in its own right. The hotel in Soller was very comfortable, centrally located with a great buffet breakfast. The nights at Lluc made a good contrast. Good company, great food and a fine dry week. Usual Exodus efficiency.

Cannot pick one. Every day I thought that the walks couldn't get better - but they did.

Eduard was a delight. Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about all thing Mallorcan.
Advice for Potential Travellers
I found poles invaluable. We were lucky with weather but imagine some paths could be slippery in the wet. Layer up if you go early or late season, the wind can be quite cold higher up.

Touring like a VIP
I watched the camel running alongside me for a while before my attention returned to the climb ahead. It looked steep, but I could see the top so I wasn’t worried. Super-fit Andy was blasting ahead as usual and almost at the top, pursuing our even fitter cycling leader. I felt I could catch them, even in the fierce heat. My bike was a good one and rolling so easily on thin tyres that all I had to do was tuck in for a slight downhill and I’d gain enough momentum to carry me halfway up the slope. Energy from the delicious bananas handed out by our tour guide at the last stop would take care of the rest, and I could look around at the stunning desert landscape. The cycling leader, half my age and riding a proper racing bike, came flying back down the hill, then returned to pass me a few minutes later, out of the saddle with legs pounding like pistons. Show off.
Our police escort followed him past, driving their huge SUV with red and blue lights flashing on the roof and Arabic police markings on the side. They accompanied us on all the cycling sections, stopping traffic at junctions and making it easy to imagine that we were part of the Tour de France. Special treatment that made us feel like we were honoured guests. We also had a tourist police officer with us on the bus at all times, speeding us through checkpoints and escorting us on foot to the tourist sites, stopping traffic so that we could cross the road. It felt like being a VIP but it wasn’t even necessary because the locals were so friendly. Where the traffic was a nightmare and locals have to risk their lives, drivers would see a group of tourists and stop for us. Even taxi drivers would halt, smiling and waving us across. They treat tourists well. Even in the shops they don’t try to take advantage of you, and the most delicious freshly made falafel sandwich will still only set you back about 50p.
A local car came over the hill ahead of me, going very slowly with kids hanging out of the back windows to take a look at us. There weren’t many cars on the roads we’d been cycling – traffic became a point of interest rather than a danger. As the car came level I heard the familiar cry of “Welcome to Jordan!”. What a country.
I reached the top of the hill and came through a pass cut into the rock, which opened up to reveal more great views across a valley, and the even more welcome sight of our bus with its fridge full of cold drinks. I needed one. My legs were still tired from hiking 13 miles up and down the rocks at Petra, a place with such atmosphere, such awe inspiring history and ancient craft that it will never leave you.
I couldn’t wait to get to our desert camp at Wadi Rum, for an evening of camel riding, freshly roasted feasting around the camp fire and a night under the stars, but I also knew that would mean the end of our cycling and I didn’t want it to stop.

Feeling like having the world to myself and being surrounded by ancient culture as I rested in complete solitude at Petra's High Place of Sacrifice, views across miles of rock and history but not another person in sight.

Informative, outgoing, friendly and obviously so interested and enthusiastic about what he was telling us, even though it must be the thousandth time he'd said it. Top notch.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Hang around in Petra until late. The light changes and the colours become so much richer. People leave and the whole place becomes so much more atmospheric. Don't worry about the supposed 6:30pm closing time - stay as long as you want. Walking back out through the Siq on your own as darkness falls is unforgettable.

Lakes and Mountains of Slovenia
An excellent week’s Walking and a real History Lesson
Most Inspirational Moment
The walk up to the Croatian-Austrian Border. We retraced the steps of the 10,000 Refugees who trekked over these mountains in April 1945.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Before departing I picked up a book called "Slovenia 1945".by John Corsellis. It is about what happened, in Slovenia, during the Second World War. It is a fascinating and harrowing book and describes the events, in the exact area , in which the Trip is based. I found it gripping and a real eye opener as I knew little about the history of area . It is well worth buying or downloading, to read, while on the trip.

Annapurna Sanctuary Trek, Nepal
Very well organised, great team, good support and helpful advises before trip. Team based in Nepal absolutely brilliant. Everybody very cheerful and helpful. Bit more difficult email correspondence. Took ages to get any response. Country one of most beautiful on the planet. Unbelievable forests, great views and of course all in Nepali Flat 🙂 I highly recommend that place and this company to everyone.

Suppose to be the Nepali Flat Trek but eventually it has become an earthquake.

Very helpful, very patient, calm and with great sense of humor. Great companion. His huge experience and knowledge become essential and crucial during earthquake when nobody knew what to do.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Don't take too many stuff, make sure your kit bag is as light as possible otherwise you will feel bad knowing that somebody has to carry it for you. Invest in light gear and good sleeping bag. Make sure you have reliable trekking boots and blister plasters. Inform your relatives before trip where exactly you go, who with and give them contact details to your travel company. Be cheerful and enjoy every moment down there :)

Cycling Cuba April 2015
A really good tour. Challenging cycling at times due to unusually high temperatures and humidity. A great guide in Alex Bujaga. Came home knowing so much more about Cuba and its people. Friendly people, always felt safe, never hassled. Recommended.

Reaching the top of some of the hills on our day in the Sierra Maestra.
Visiting the mausoleum to Che.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Alex was excellent. A great organiser and some memorable anecdotes on Cuba and its history. There was clearly an obligation placed on him by his government to tell a particular story but he balanced the dogma with personal observations.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Go without any preconceptions. Cuba may surprise you.
If you go in April, be prepared for crabs!

Sun, Sea and lemons!
An excellent trip, with just the right amount of walking, sightseeing and free time, so something for everyone. Full days and lots to see and do within the area.
Most Inspirational Moment
Completing the 'Walk of the gods' and not having sore feet at the end the 4.5 hour walk, plus 1,700 steps down!!
The group were great fun. A variety of ages made it all the more exciting. Vesuvius was also incredible as was Pompeii, Herculanium and Naples. Enjoy the large amounts of delicious ice cream everywhere you go:)

Eduardo was brilliant.From the moment we arrived in Naples he made us feel welcome. Was always happy to answer any questions we had and each night before dinner he told us what was the next days itinerary. He has took us to places that as a tourist you would never find yourself and made each day enjoyable. Interacting with all the group and having a great time. His knowledge of the local area was incredible too and everyone seemed to know him whereever we went!!
Advice for Potential Travellers
Makes sure that you take lots of cash with you. There are a number of cash machines around, but sometimes you need to pay cash to a local guide or taxi so be sure to take enough for the 8 days.
Enjoy yourself and the surroundings, it truly is a beautiful part of the world and there is so much to eat, you will certainly never feel starved!

Highlight of Morocco
It was excellent trip ,from the desert to the mountain to the west coast essaouira.

My most inspirational moments were when we went to desert (Merzouga)and to the Todra Gorge,We had a great time there and poeple running the hotels were excellent.

Jump, skip, play and be happy
This was an excellent trip that we thoroughly recommend, made all the better by our wonderful enthusiastic leader, Christine, and the lovely people we shared it with.
Most Inspirational Moment
Reaching the summit of Mt Vesuvius at the second attempt (thunderstorms prevented it on our scheduled visit) with our excellent guide Stefano. All the walks were very satisfying and we particularly enjoyed the time in Ravello.

Christine was excellent, enthusiastic, cheerful and professional at all times. She has great relationships with so many local people and dealt with all requests or problems efficiently. The duct tape has passed into legend!
Advice for Potential Travellers
Walking poles and decent footwear recommended for all the walks.
