Biking Sardainia

Biking Sardainia is a moderate challenge if you bike regularly. The countryside and the view points are gorgeous. The beaches in May are empty and the water cool but ideal for a refreshing swim. I had the best spaghetti and pizza of my life! Viva Sadainia.

Most Inspirational Moment

Climbing in a very hot temperature an 8 km steady steep hill...the most difficult moments are always the most inspirational ones. J'aime les parcours qui offrent des defis...et les montées sont parfois difficiles en Sardaigne. MIs c'est ce qui rend le voyage inoubliable.

Thoughts on Group Leader

We had to guides with totLly different styles...and that was great because we could relate to one of them depending on our spirit of the day.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Biking or taking spinning classes is a must to fully enjoy this trip. And don't forget your bathing suit...the beaches are exceptionnal.

Another great Exodus holiday for us

We have just returned from 9 days in Sicily and had our usual great time thanks to Exodus. This trip gives you a chance to get the feel of Sicily. We visited 22 places and covered 1,000 kilometers in that time, going clockwise around the island stopping at all the important locations. I would suggest that you use this holiday as a general introduction to Sicily, deciding which places you would like to visit next time to explore in more detail. Fabio, our guide was wonderful. Born and bred there, he had an encyclopaedic knowledge of the island and no detail was too much trouble for him. The accommodation was a good mix of 3 and 4 star hotels and he pointed out some excellent restaurants to us. One pleasant surprise was the quality of the local wine, particularly Nero d’Avola.

Most Inspirational Moment

Catching a brief glimpse of Mount Etna with its great lava flows when the clouds parted momentarily.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Fabio was great.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Although it is rather a nuisance when going to a Mediterranean island close to summer, take warm clothes and good shoes for the walk up to Etna, the winds and rocks can be evil.

Cycling the Dalmatian Coast

This was a most excellent adventure that combined some of the most beautiful islands and coastline one will ever see and cycling that was challenging at times but not over the top.

Most Inspirational Moment

The opportunity to have a group of eight friends from the USA be exposed to this beautiful countryside, the most friendly Croatian people and the exertion and rewards of doing some cycling amidst the fine meals and local wines.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Marko Mitic is a gem ! The trip was very well organized, he was a font of knowledge about Croatia, he was incredibly personable and engaged and he was always looking out for the clients. The trip would not have been the same, nor as memorable, without him. His organizing call of "guys, guys, guys" became the rallying cry throughout the trip. The man is a piece of work and he was most appreciated by all.

Advice for Potential Travellers

The trip notes, on reflection, were very accurate. The cycling, at least on the first two days, was more demanding in part than anticipated so it might be helpful to include the length of the "challenging" hills and the grade percentages. In the end it made no difference but it would have been good to have more of an appreciation of the climbs beforehand. My advice: "do this trip !"

a Greek cycling adventure

A fabulous holiday, with beautiful scenery, a lot of hills and excellent guiding from Yannis and Angelos. The trip went without a hitch and it was great to be on the bikes from start to finish.

Most Inspirational Moment

The best moments were cycling with beautiful views of the coast and spring flowers - roses in particular which I has never previously associated with Greece.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Yannis was great , well organised, efficient., friendly and passionate about Greece. Angelos his support was also excellent - enthusiastic, encouraging and lunch was always a treat.

Advice for Potential Travellers

There are plenty of hills so be sure to do some training before setting out.

Cycle Cilento & the Amalfi Coast

This was the perfect holiday for the recreational cyclist who wants to see the Cilento National park and Amalfi coast in a very low impact way.

Most Inspirational Moment

To see cyclists who have low levels of experience battle to the top of some challenging climbs.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Paolo longo our tour leader did an excellent job of instructing the group and looking after the safety of the riders as we had some difficult decents in wet weather on a couple of days, as well as being very friendly and approachable at all times.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Book the single room supplement as the rooms can be very small.

A real taste of Cuba

A quick week touring around the top spots in Cuba, well worthwhile at this time of rapid change in that vivid, colourful country.

Most Inspirational Moment

Sitting in the Case de la Trova in Trinidad listening to the band - youngest member 50, oldest 88 - playing music with love, passion and commitment. We danced the chachacha and drank rum cocktails. Yes, before noon, but who cares? This is Cuba, this is where the music lives.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Ray was a total and utter star. Probably the best leader I've ever had. Charming, funny, knowledgeable, organised, responsive to the group.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Change money at the airport, but there are ATMs in Trinidad and Havana, and maybe more if I'd looked. It's easier than I thought to get money. No need to worry about saving $25 for departure tax either, it's included in your ticket. Read up on Cuban history before you come.

Excellent trip to a beautiful country

This trip is good mixture of walking and relaxation. Romania is certainly off the beaten track for most Brits but it’s certainly worth a look. This trip to Transylvania includes several walks through stunning country-side and is a mixture of long walks (8 hrs) and shorter (3hr) “strolls”. There’s plenty of time for admiring the scenery.

Most Inspirational Moment

The bear-watching was pretty special.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Very good.

Advice for Potential Travellers

This holiday will be fine for anyone who does some walking back at home. There are a couple of longer days but nothing particularly difficult. The weather up on the mountains can turn on a sixpence so I recommend you take waterproofs. Most of our party had poles but I'm not sure they were really necessary.

Essential Peru

This was my first experience of a guided tour holiday, and it will definitely not be my last. Although I was a little uneasy with the thought of spending two weeks with a group of complete strangers, it was apparent from day one that all on my group were fantastic company and that our experiences would be shared and enjoyed as a group, nobody was isolated and soon all became friends.
The tour of Peru was excellent, taking in all the major sights and too many others to mention, the organisation of our day from the minute that we opened our eyes until going back to sleep was impeccable, our tour leader (Alex) worked tirelessly from dawn to dusk to ensure that everyone was getting 100% from the trip.
Sad to be back home from a trip that, although tiring at times, just kept giving and giving.

Most Inspirational Moment

Of course Machu Picchu, but also the visit to Colca Canyon, we waited about an hour for the Condors to rise but only had a few sightings, as we were ready to board the coach to leave they all came up and gave the most fantastic display, the sight of huge Condors flying just over our heads will stay with me forever.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our tour leader was Alex, if you book this tour and get Alex.....lucky you, he's the best!

Essential Peru

This was an excellent adventure from beginning to end. The diversity of the landscape from offshore islands, coastal desert, high plateau, snow capped mountains with glaciers, active volcanoes to high altitude lake together with superb Inca sites, fascinating wildlife, colonial architecture and colourful people contribute to making this a journey of a lifetime.

Most Inspirational Moment

There were so many with one highlight following another! The Nazca Lines, especially from the light aircraft. Only by being at Machu Pichu is it possible to appreciate the true scale of the site and surroundings. Photos can never do it full justice! The homestay on Lake Titicaca and the condors over the Colca Canyon as well as the stunning scenery were also truly inspirational.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Aleks was a brilliant group leader. His meticulous organisation, flexibility, good humour and patience meant that all aspects of the trip went smoothly. He gave sound advice on dealing with the altitude, especially as he suffered himself from the effects to some extent. Unfortunately, a few of the group suffered the usual travellers sickness, common on a trip like this, but Aleks was always there to help. He even assisted in changing a bus wheel when we discovered we had a flat tyre!! A really first class leader and if you get Aleks, you will be very lucky indeed!

Advice for Potential Travellers

Read the trip notes very carefully. They are very detailed and contain much useful information about the country and the kit you will need for the various parts of the itinerary. This is a "full on" trip with many early starts and long drives but necessary to cover the itinerary and more than compensated for by the sites and the ever changing, stunning scenery

Camino de Santiago Trek

This was a very well-organized trek led by Jose, a lively, knowledgeable, and attentive guide. The accommodations were simple, but certainly adequate; the food was superb; and the trek itself beautiful in a quiet way.

Most Inspirational Moment

I doubt I'd describe any moment as "inspirational;" it was overall just a pleasant experience. I did like meeting other pilgrims, some of whom were walking the Camino alone. It is obvious that the experiences they were having were much richer and perhaps more inspirational than can be had trekking with a group.

Thoughts on Group Leader

I can only give Jose the highest praise. He was fun, informed, sociable, and very concerned about the welfare of his group. I fell (in a cafe, not on the Camino !!!) and broke my pelvis four days into the walk, and although there was nothing to be done but to drop out and rest, he did his best to see to my comfort for the rest of the tour.

Advice for Potential Travellers

This walk is not particularly difficult, but the pace is quite fast, and there really isn't time to stop for short periods to savor the gorgeous views or to take photographs. The tour is rated "moderate" and asks for a"reasonable degree of fitness". Such wording is a bit too vague. I am over 70 and am very fit for my age, but as I said, I was a slower walker than most people in the group and always felt a little pushed to increase my pace.
