Walking in Cappadocia
A totally unique landscape which is a “Must See” if you want something different. The walks are mostly in valleys and are easy. We’ve never seen so many caves! This is the true way to see Turkey and meet the people, who are very friendly and welcoming. Don’t expect to loose weight though – the traditional food is very tasty and plentiful!
Most Inspirational Moment
Hard to say as it was all great. The valley walks are fascinating. We also went on an early morning (start before sunrise) balloon trip which was brilliant- well organised and magical. Over 100 balloons in the air at the same time. It was like fairyland as we set off in the early morning twilight seeing all the flames from the gas burners lighting up the balloons - never to be forgotten! Remember to take your camera!
One thing that will always stay with us is one morning whilst walking through a local village an old lady gave us some freshly baked bread to taste and a man came across with some molasses he was preparing in which we dipped the bread - it was like nectar. Someone else then came over with grape juice to sample. What a nice gesture by a poor community.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Ferat was an excellent leader, living up to the exodus high standards we have always experienced. Our driver was also excellent, very safe and thoughtful.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Take a travel sink plug for the sink in the hotel - there wasn't one in it! Although the walks are easy you will still need good boots as the ground can be rough.

Madeira Walking trip
Every day was very different- mountains, seascapes & levada walks, with plenty of culture, nature & history too
Most Inspirational Moment
Great sense of achievement getting to the top of the high mountains after a tough climb up all those steps, & seeing the mountains & valleys all around, drifting in & out of the mist
Thoughts on Group Leader
Andre was well-organised, friendly & informative. To our shame, we didn't always follow his directions too well but we all got there in the end & had a lot of fun along the way!
Advice for Potential Travellers
Take clothing for hot, cold & wet conditions- we experienced every extreme of weather during our week at the end of October.
To get the most from this holiday you need to be fit for a couple of days of steep climbs & descents, & walking for 6 or 7 hours

Classic Vietnam & Angkor
Vietnam & Cambodia adventure in comfort with local guide and small group.
Most Inspirational Moment
Canoeing in the emerald waters of Halong Bay surrounded by limestone peaks rising from the sea.
Walking around the streets of Hoi An which has a more chilled feel than Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh. Visiting the temples at Angkor was amazing each one is filled with stone carvings which take your breath away as does the scale of the ruins.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Our Vietnam group leader Ngoc was a local with excellent English and extensive knowledge and insights into every place we visited. He quickly got to know everyone in the group and had a rapport that made the trip fun from the start. He handled some challenging situations admirably and early the respect of the group. In Angkor our group leader was knowledgeable and tried to pack as much into the last 2 days as possible.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Make sure that you get all your vaccinations in good time. Take Malarone as malaria prophylaxis and use Deet gel as your bug repellant. All hotels are bug free and have air conditioning so you do not need nets or mossy machines in the bedrooms.

Essential Peru
The whole trip exceeded all of my expectations; I did realise before I booked the holiday that a lot of coach travel was involved, the coach was spacious, it had very comfortable seats even with its own toilet ….for emergencies! If you want to see the spectacular scenery that Peru has to offer together with many highlights such as Macchu Picchu and a homestay on Lake Titicaca then I would recommend this trip….I would love to do it again!
Most Inspirational Moment
I have wanted to visit Macchu Picchu for many years hence why I chose this trip.....and it certainly lived up to my expectations and even more!
Thoughts on Group Leader
He was superb, always in control......our visit to Macchu Picchu might not have taken place due to a 2 day strike in Cusco as the roads were going to be closed at daylight....with the reorganising of the itinerary at the last minute, the co- operation of the drivers the group decided to travel through the night arriving in Cusco at 5am before the curfew commenced. He also arranged for rooms to be available as soon as we arrived at the crack of dawn....very good organising skills which was apparent throughout the holiday. I was also unwell with altitude sickness. He arranged for me to have oxygen and his common sense helped to relive the panic that I was feeling at the time.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Go with an open mind.....yes the long days travelling can be tiring but if you want to see this spectacular country then just enjoy sitting in the coach and let the tour guide show you everything that he suggests...his experience helped to make it a very special holiday.

Walking the Amalfi Coast
I loved all of the trip! It was my first walking holiday – I’d only really started walking more tha 3/4 miles a day in September of this year and was not really sure I’d be up to all of the walks!
However I did them all with – lots of encouragement from the other guests and Albert and Severio who were leading.
Most Inspirational Moment
Doing the first walk just out of the hotel in Bomerano where we were staying! Which at end of week I thought had been the hardest!!
Just loved all of it!
Thoughts on Group Leader
Albert was great, despite always telling us "just a few more steps" " the next bit is easier" probably never walk up and down steps without thinking of him!! - in a good way of course!
Advice for Potential Travellers
Do make sure you have done some walking, I had done very little, but was glad I'd got a some longish walks in between September and 24/10 when the holiday started.
I had only used walking poles once before, but was very glad I had them as they really helped - I love them now! The Amalfi Coast has a LOT of steps - be sure your knees are up to it.
To Vera who I met on one of my WEALDLAND WALKERS outings - sure you will enjoy it as you already walk!

Land of the Tiger
A brilliant holiday from the start. I went to see tigers, and I saw tigers. Belvinda Singh, our highly experienced, guide made our experience memorable. The accommodation was very good and food excellent. But most of all
our group were great, we all got on well.
Most Inspirational Moment
Seeing a wild tiger for the first time and the Tajmal
Thoughts on Group Leader
Belvida Singh was just great. He was so knowledable, spoke excellent English and made us feel comfortable at all times. When he took us to the the Sikh temple he was able to explain in great detail the workings of this fine temple. Nothing was to much trouble for him and we could not have wished for a better guide.
Advice for Potential Travellers
If you are wanting to see tigers do as many drives as possible including extra drives if offered. When in Delhi try to visit the Sikh temple. Some people might be concerned about Malaria. Moskito's were virtually non existent and we did not hear about any cases in the area.

Fantastic trip
This has to be the best Exodus holiday I have been on.The Picos de Europa are a very beautiful mountain range and the walks we did were varied and interesting with spectacular scenery .A highlight of the trip was walking the stunning Cares gorge.
Our leader Alvaro was brilliant .He carefully explained the walks we were doing and while we were walking he looked after everyone in the party often running backwards and forwards from the front to the back of the group .
The hotel was great .The hosts Jim and Pilar were very friendly and obliging .My room was comfortable and had a nice modern bathroom .Wifi was free in all areas and was fast and reliable .Best of all was the hotel food .Great menu choices, beautiful presentation and consistently delicious .

Cycling holiday
Most Inspirational Moment
Lovely scenery - so varied
Loved cycling down to the coast and see the lovely blue see
Learning from others in the group how they approach different challenges
Thoughts on Group Leader
Excellent. For the whole week, he had exactly the right balance. We had a really mixed group of some really keen cyclists and others (like myself) that would like to be on my bike more but have little time. Thomas ensured a really great pace and waited for those at the back, always ensuring we kept together and he was encouraging in terms of doing well and doing the right pace. He was extremely helpful, always paying each one of us his full attention.
