Mr Eric Kravitz

Great trip with stunning scenery on each hike. Great town, great food and hot tub at the exodus chalet

Most Inspirational Moment

Aguille Di Midi

Thoughts on Group Leader

Jenny was a very knowledgeable and personable guide who conveyed her appreciation and passion for the region well.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Don't miss the opportunity to do the Aguille di Midi cable car gondola ride between France and Italy on the free day. It's amazing.

Cuba-the must go to destination

What an amazing country. Friendly people, happy to see tourists and very helpful. Great way to see the real Cuba by passing through small villages. I was impressed with how patient the drivers are, waiting for clear road before passing us even when it meant they had to stop. Wonderful cars, of course. Great tour guide, drivers and a fantastic group of fellow travelers.

Most Inspirational Moment

The camaraderie and support of my group, especially when someone was not feeling well or when the hills became too much in the heat. Thanks everyone. Swimming behind the waterfall in Trinidad, taking Salsa lessons and the fun trying to dance it later, first swim in the Caribbean, seeing an old fire engine towing another old fire engine, and so much more. Lots of children trying out their English as we cycled past them.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Lazaro was brilliant. His knowledge and passion for Cuba was obvious and he shared it with enthusiasm. He spoke brilliant English and was kind, funny, helpful and patient.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Take padded bike shorts, the roads are not in good repair. Put in some hours on your bike to tune your bum into hours/days of cycling.

Walking the Amalfi Coast

A wonderfully organized tour in a spot with stunning scenery and fabulous food.

Most Inspirational Moment

I think it was walking around the crater of Vesuvius and going down into the crater. Our local guide was so passionate and interesting that made it that much better.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Tina was fantastic. Well organized, fun and upbeat. She was new to this area so didn't have an expanse of local in depth knowledge but if we did ask questions she always made sure to find out and come back to us with the answers. She went out of her way to help with the arrangements of our free day and also we took a different way back to Naples when the tour was over and she put us in touch with the right person to look after that.

Advice for Potential Travellers

If it's rainy you would definitely want some sturdy light hikers. They don't need to be over the ankle but having really good traction is key as there is lots of loose rock and bigger steps. I had poles with me on Vesuvius as did my friend and we were so glad for that as it was no problem for us while others struggled. I also had poles on the Mont Tre Calle hike and was glad but I didn't take them on the other days.

It's a MUST DO!

The Picos de Europa lived up to all expectations and then exceeded them on every day. You simply run out of superlatives on a daily basis.

Most Inspirational Moment

I really found it very hard to find a single moment which would fulfil this description. There were just too many great moments.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Alvaro is a great guide. Attentive and knowledgeable of this area which he clearly loves dearly.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Fitness is an absolute must. These are steep hills do not enter them lightly. There are big climbs and big descents and if the heat is up they can be punishing. Bring a good camera! Bring field glasses.

Mt Toubkal

So I booked onto this trekk at very short notice (5 days before departure) and was very pleased with the help giving to me by the company in making sure there was space available for me on the trip. From the moment I left Scotland to the moment I left Morocco to come back home I had nothing but an excellent experience with Exodus. The trip was well catered for with fantastic guides who at times gave us abit of knowledge about the areas we where trekking through. This was my first experience with Exodus and would highly reccommend them to family and friends.

Most Inspirational Moment

For me the most inspirational part of the trip was how well the group and staff got on and we all helped each other in different ways during the trekk.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Group leader Was excellent

Advice for Potential Travellers

Sun Cream lots of Sun cram!!!

What an adventure

This trip was awesome. Canoeing, walking and wild camping. Surrounded by all the wild life and beautiful scenery. You get so close to the animals so you will get some great photos and memory’s that will last a lifetime. As you are working as a team with the group and the two guides you will quickly become good friends with everyone.

Most Inspirational Moment

Getting so close to wild elephants. They are so powerful but pretty gentle. Also going to the school was great. These kids don't have much but are all so happy

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our group leader (TK) was brilliant. Very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

Advice for Potential Travellers

The canoeing isn't to hard but can be a bit of a challenge if it gets windy. The wild camping is great but be prepared, it is wild camping so its basic. You get a tent and food cooked on a camp fire. Also get up a little early and sit my the fire and watch the sunrise and listen to the wildlife, such a relaxing experience.

Walking in Albania, July 2016

A great way to discover a little of this real gem of a country, this trip combines some amazing days of walking with interesting cultural sights.

The walking is truly first rate, perfect for day hikes, the days in the mountains are full of unspoilt beauty and rugged terrain, always with comfortable (and surprisingly good quality) accommodation waiting at the end of the day.

Coupled with days sightseeing in Berat, Prizen and Kruja, this makes for a truly enjoyable, memorable trip.

Most Inspirational Moment

Walking the Valbone pass, looking down one way to Thethi and the other to Valbone, under clear skies and rugged, handsome mountains in every direction.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Dorien has the unique mix of skills that make for a great guide, able to move from mountain guide to city seamlessly he makes the whole experience run like clockwork, no small feat and to be appreciated no end by travellers.

Advice for Potential Travellers

In the heat of high summer the walks may be a little tougher than you might expect, consider those days the high end of moderate, but this is balanced by the other days and short walk options.

Amalfi Coast hike in June 2016

Everything was amazing…the hotel, the views, our travel companions, and most of all our guide, Suzy.

Most Inspirational Moment

There were too many such moments, but I will always remember the goats at the top of the misty mountain and the view from the piazza of Rovello.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Suzy was fantastic. Always cheerful, always mindful of the group's well-being and always quick to point out the great photo opportunities and local nuances. And she always had cookies. You can never go wrong with cookies.

Advice for Potential Travellers

For the Amalfi trip, there is quite a bit of hiking with elevation changes. This is not a simple walk through town or to grandmother's house. Pace yourself ("piano piano"), bring lots of water and snacks and comfortable hiking shoes. You will be sore from this but it's managed. Some people wore over-the-ankle hiking boots and those were overkill. Our guide Suzy wore trail running-type shoes and those would be fine. Something lightweight for walking up stairs and hills and something that will absorb the shocks of going down thousands of stairs.

A Stunning trek - but you need to be prepared

The Tour De Mont Blanc offers some of the most stunning mountain scenery that you will find. Exodus have put together an approach to the Tour which is effective and achievable. This camping itinerary keeps you embedded in the “great outdoors” – it is a real break from home comforts, which helps increase the sense of wonder at your surroundings. Make no mistake – there are some tough days, both uphill and downhill. You owe it to yourself and to the other members of the trek to be fit and well prepared. If you are, it will be tiring but exhilarating. Go for it!

Most Inspirational Moment

At the end of a long, hot, hard day, walking in to the campsite at La Fouly at looking up at the incredible mountain scenery basked in the evening sunset. And taking that all in with a cold beer!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our group leader was fantastic. He worked with a very disparate group of individuals with different levels of fitness and got everyone through the Tour. He was always solicitous for anyone who was struggling, whilst at the same time making sure that the group achieved its day's objectives. I need to add a word about the camp wrangler, Andy, who set up our tents every day and prepared excellent meals. Best care anywhere.

Advice for Potential Travellers

This is a fun trip, but it is a big trip. You owe it to yourself to increase fitness in the weeks leading up to the trek. That way you can concentrate on enjoying yourself. Nights can be cold, so a good sleeping bag is essential.

Excellent Chamonix Walking holiday

An excellent walking holiday that encompasses all the best bits of the tour of Mont Blanc into 1 week with the luxury of a chalet base in Chamonix.

Most Inspirational Moment

Amazing walking with a constant back drop of the Mont Blanc massif.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Fantastic leader who was knowledgeable, friendly, sociable (always ready for a beer and chat at the end of each walk and joined us for dinner and a drink in the evening), made the group feel safe on the mountains paying particular attention to people who felt uneasy on uneven and steep ground. Some members of the group were difficult to manage and didn't seem to understand that group safety was the guides priority, and even in this difficult situation the guide was professional and attentive to everyones needs. I always felt safe and well looked after on the mountains.

Advice for Potential Travellers

There is some steep climbs at moderate altitude but the guides ensure that you can take your time and you never feel pressured to keep up with the group. So walk at your own pace, stop regularly to enjoy the views and you will get up and down the hills with out difficulty. This is a great taster trip if you haven't done anything like this before put are thinking of doing a trekking holiday in the future.
