Fabulous!
Costa Rica is beautiful and Jorge Diaz, our guide was wonderful. He had a bigger than normal job, due to road closures from rain/landslides, but he did it all.with clear communication and patience. He is passionate about his country and his work. He clearly enjoys teaching visitors about Costa Rica. We saw so many beautiful parks and stayed in lovely accommodations. The only problem was with one hotel in Cahuita that didn’t have running water. The rain only interfered with a few activities but we did other things that made up for it. The wildlife viewing was spectacular—sloths, tapirs, turtles, crocs, boas and so many different birds. The chocolate making tour and coffee farm tour were fun and interesting. Both were delicious and I am now a coffee drinker! At least of Cafe Cristina’s light roast! If you are thinking about this trip, go—you won’t be disappointed. Pura Vida!
Most Inspirational Moment
Seeing the sloths at the Sloth Sanctuary. Their “residents” are all injured in some capacity that doesn’t allow them to return to the wild. We learned so much about these interesting animals.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Jorge was terrific. It was really fun to get to know him over the 2 weeks and I would highly recommend him. Our driver, Victor, was also top notch.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Enjoy yourselves! The food is delicious but don’t expect hot and spicy like Mexican. Rice, beans, vegetables and seafood are typical. US dollars are accepted nearly everywhere. Larger places take credit cards but internet can be spotty can be difficult to authorize at times. Take care walking around larger cities like San Jose. The gutters along the sidewalks are DEEP!

Pleasant hike
The trek was very nice. But due partly to exceptional circumstances the driving times were far too long.. And exceptional seems to be recurrent in this part of India. My suggestion for this trip would be to skip Sikkim and find alternatives closer to Darjeeling or the Singalila rirdge and elaborate another trip for Sikkim with hiking further there.
Most Inspirational Moment
The hiking. Views on Everest and Kanchenjunga, especially at sunrise and sunset.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Very good

Great Guide and a thoroughly enjoyable trip
Ab our guide stood in at very short notice (having returned from his other trip the night before without going home), our intended guide had covid. He was professional, knowledgeable and with a great sense of humour which gelled with the group. It was a great group too! Ab provided lots of insight into the culture/religion/politics/history of this really interesting country.
Most Inspirational Moment
The High Alter of Sacrifice walk around Petra (day2) really showed the perspective of this enormous site (most of which has not been excavated).
Thoughts on Group Leader
Brilliant (see summary above).
Advice for Potential Travellers
Avoid the front facing bedrooms in Amman - they are very noisy!

Exploring The Nile
Overall an excellent trip. However, it would have been better to have an extra night in Cairo. The schedule was too busy for the one day we had in Cairo and we did not get to see the mosque or markets and yet were out for 11 hours. We saw The Pyramids, The Sphinx, and Cairo museum. The long day meant we did not get to experience the hotel in Cairo. The ship and hotel in Aswan were very good. Food in Cairo and on the ship was excellent.
Most Inspirational Moment
The Valley of the Kings and Abu Simbel were amazing and riding a camel which I had not planned on doing!
Thoughts on Group Leader
Very good. Rania looked after everyone and gave us lots of information and made all the arrangements very smooth. Occasionally things were not clear but this was not a problem.

A new take on the Costa Blanca
If a week in Benidorm, dozing on the beach is not your idea of a holiday then just travel a few miles inland and experience a different world. Based at the Hostal Rincon de Pepe, guided by the the very knowledgeable and amiable José, and hosted by the jovial hard working Raquel you’ll have a great week. The walks were challenging at times, particularly if you’re not sure footed. Poles are recommended, but I wouldn’t say they’re a necessity if they’re not your thing. It was hotter than expected, but I found that if you kept hydrated then I was able to cope. And then there’s the delicious triple decker sandwiches prepared freshly by José – they could be siesta inducing if you hang around for too long afterwards. No chance of that! By the end of the five treks you’ll have covered a lot of ground and discovered an area that you probably never knew existed. There’s nothing like a good summit and there’s at least two be climbed, with Puig Campana probably the most challenging. On the rest day all of the group went to Vila Joiosa – a great beach and a surprisingly warm sea welcomed us . . . and no crowds. It was a thoroughly enjoyable week. Muchas gracias José y Raquel.

Cycle Kerala & Tropical India - Oct 2022
Great trip, well organised, lovey tasty food and very friendly staff and locals. Bike were appropriate to the trip and mostly trouble free. Houseboat stay was a wonderfully peaceful and restful period after busy actioned packed first week. Weather was better than forecast, not too hot for cycling and only used rain jacket one day.
Most Inspirational Moment
Probably the boat journey as I had time to contemplate and take in everything that had already past.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Excellent, Safi was really experienced and confident in his role and clearly had overcome any issues in the past so was relaxed and knowledgeable and allowed us all to enjoy the holiday.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Take a waterproof and consider waterproof cycling shorts for the days it might rain as bikes don't have mudguards. A pair of binoculars really help on the Safari - which was great. The climb to Ooty is a long one, take it slow and preferable spend a couple of weeks getting fit beforehand. Most importantly are the bureaucratic pre-reqs for getting out there in the first place. India seems to revel in making it difficult getting there (fine once there). 1. Getting a Visa can take weeks/mths and requires a visits to Embassy so do it well in advance (5 guests never got out due to not doing this!) . 1a. Visa application needs attention to detail - When it says nationality do not select British from drop down menu as this will get thrown out, they want United Kingdom which is a country not a Nationality - but that's India. 1b. Photos - they say they want a two inch version - For me they wanted two, fortunately I'd taken all four (from a station machine) 2. What really tripped up 5 of us was the need to have filled in and ideally printed was a form called an Air Suvidha - A self declaration form which has to be done around 72 hours departure. Three of us were panicking and completing it at the check-in desk on our phones and two others missed their flights because they didn't have it. I was asked for the printed form at Dubai (fortunately I had roaming and could refresh my email and find it. - So make a big diary date to do this the day before you leave and print this and your travel details which you will need to enter the airport on return. 3. I had bought and Lebara sim for my phone (vodafone network at home) checking roaming details and unexpectedly found that you can use all your allowances at no cost in India (They may be an Indian company) so could be worth getting one - they are very cheap.

Darjeeling, Sikkim & Singalila
Great trip, very varied itinery visiting towns & some working monasteries, location of hotels is very good. Walking too is varied – lovely walks, through forests & bamboo plus up on the ridge for a couple of days. We were lucky & got sun & clear skies – views of everest and the whole range to kanchenjunga are fantastic. Trekking staff are brilliant.
Most Inspirational Moment
Sunrise & sunset on the ridge both days - pretty special. Also witnessing the monks chanting their blessings.
Thoughts on Group Leader
He resolved the few issues that came up and everything worked well.
Advice for Potential Travellers
It is cold & windy on the ridge at night,be well prepared.

How to make it the whole TMB
This trip offers more of the TMB route than most of the trips that I looked into, but it doesn’t do it all. If you read the trip notes carefully you’ll realise that there is a section in Val Ferret which may be missed out, and the section from Courmayeur to Lac Combal is bypassed. When we were on the trip we realised there were two other bits to be missed out. From Les Houches towards Brevent, and from Plan Praz to La Flegere. The good news is that, if you do want to do the whole tour then it can be done within the trip: Val Ferret – get your leader to take the bus all the way back up to Arp Nouva, where you stopped the previous day, rather than at an earlier stop point. There is plenty of time, this is what our group did. From Courmayeur – you can catch a bus to Courmayeur on your day off, walk the route to where it drops down to the path to Lac Combal, & then walk down to La Visaille where you can get a bus back to Courmayeur/the campsite. Les Houches – either persuade your leader to take the bus back to Les Houches & start from there, or walk the missing section on the final day off Plan Praz to La Flegere – add this onto the final planned day. You then take the cable car down from La Flegere rather than Plan Praz (the ticket works for both) & that’s the whole TMB done 🙂

Great cycling trip!
I had a great time cycling around Greece with Exodus. The scenery on each day was so diverse, from cycling along the coast, through vineyards and mountains. No two days of cycling were the same. The tour guide was excellent, he always found the best places for lunch, usually off the beaten track and told interesting Greek Myths during our breaks. I would highly recommend this trip!
Most Inspirational Moment
Cycling along the coast to a Greek hut where we sat and had lunch. It was so secluded and all of the guests had the chance to swim in the clear blue waters whilst the guide prepared a very fresh lunch.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Dimitris was great. He was very friendly, knowledgeable about all things to do with Greek Mythology, and kept the right cycling pace for the group. He was also very thoughtful and printed some photos for each customer at the end of the trip and ensured we tried all of the Greek delicacies.
