Spring is one of my favourite times of the year, streets that were once dull and grey suddenly become alive with colour. Across the USA beautiful flowers start to bloom in some of the most incredible settings. For all you flower lovers out there, you should definitely check some of these places out.

1). Central Park, New York

When spring arrives this iconic park transforms into a beautiful Eden, awash with cherry blossoms that line the paths around the park. For a real treat make sure you wander down the Lilac Walk, one of Central Park’s lesser known pathways and be amazed at the sheer beauty of more than 20 different varieties of Lilacs.

2). Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

Yellowstone is a national park not to be missed whatever the season, but in spring the wildlife that makes this park it’s home, really comes alive. Visit in spring and witness rolling meadows full of flowers, like wild irises, shooting stars and, to name but a few. You can also join a ranger-guided hike to learn about the different varieties of flowers.

3). National Cherry Blossom Festival, Washington D.C

The biggest and most popular of the Cherry Blossom festivals across the USA, this is most definitely a spring celebration not to be missed. The festival commemorates the gift of 3,000 cherry trees from the mayor of Tokyo to the city of Washington. Expect to see an array of different events and activities taking place, honouring the diverse Japanese culture as well as an abundance of beautiful looking cherry blossom trees.

4). Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve, California

Standing amongst 1,745 acres of beautiful Californian orange poppies is a sight that is not be missed. There are 8 miles of stunning trails to walk in the surrounding area. Make sure you check the weather as poppies only come up on nice days and you really don’t want to miss this Californian spectacle.

5). Chappell Hill Bluebonnets festival, Texas

It’s no surprise that the bluebonnet is the state flower of Texas once you have witnessed the sea of stunning bluebonnets that cover the state’s countryside. The Texans are so proud of their bluebonnets that there is even a website that is updated daily with locations of new sightings of bluebonnet fields as we get farther into spring.
