I know its a while off yet but anyone else booked onto this trek departing 3rd May 2013? I did the Everest Base Camp trek earlier this year and looking forward to this adventure

Lisa, when we did Everest Base Camp there were people who were struggling on certain days due to altitude sickness, and they just took the walk  at their own pace. The guides were great and would hang back with you if you were struggling, as would other people on the trek as we tried to help each other out. The pace was very slow with plenty of rest breaks, so im sure we will all be fine if its anything like that

Yeah, you are right Paul, the guides are a great help. they are with you all the time. J

Thanks Paul - I know the guides will be great. I don't think I have ever heard of anyone not making the Inca hike, I think I would have just felt better in myself if I had more prep time.... I am going to slowly get back into it this week, even though I still have my virus, but I can't do nothing for the next month. I think we already have a nice supportive group which will be great :)

Yea im sure we will all look out for each other. Get well soon

Final Joining Instructions email came today and my Kitbag through the post :)

HMMMMM - hopefully my kitbag shouldn't be far off I hope :) Is it the big black one again?

Its the same design just different colour. Think I have everything bought now, just need to fit it in my suitcase now!

Gosh - I haven't even had a chance to sift through my kit yet :-/..... I would assume I have everything still though, just have to dig it back out.

Not long to go now. Anyone on the group flight wanting to meet at Heathrow before we get on the plane, I will be there around 3:30 on the 3rd

How much spending money are people taking?

Hi Paul, I'm taking £400, I've changed it into US dollars and I'm taking a card with me too just for emergencies!
I can't believe it's less than a week, I book it over a year ago and it's come around so quick!

Hi Helen. Thats about what im taking, in US Dollars too and change what i need into local currency there. I know cant believe how fast it has come around. Will be abit nervous flying on Friday seeing as its my first solo trip, but will be great once we get to Peru and meet everyone.

Hi Helen/Paul, I can't believe how quick this has all come around. I am so excited - yet I still haven't packed hahaha. I am bringing $900US, but I also have another 6 days after our trip, so I am hoping this will be enough. I think our flights are about an hour or 2 apart, so if we all catch each other at the hotel, maybe we can have a wonder around Lima together - safety in numbers :)

See you guys on the 4th :)

Hi Lisa. Sounds good, be nice to explore Lima before the bugs eat us in the Amazon ;)

haha I'm hoping my Deet insect repellent will work against snakes too haha :)

Hi Paul, Lisa, Helen, Jan
We will be joining you on the Peru trip.
We are two couples, myself and wife Lesley plus Ian and Helen.
We are fun loving, easy going  50 somethings.
Love trecking and travelling. 5 times with Exodus so know it'll be great!
We are doing the Moonstone route.
Look forward to meeting you all. Will be at Heathrow 3.30ish

Hi Andy good to hear from someone else on the trek. Im sure its going to be fun for the 2 weeks we're in Peru. Hopefully get to see you at Heathrow

Hi Andy, looking forward to meeting you all on the 4th. I am not on the group flight, but sure I will catch you all once in Lima. I arrive about 4:30 in the morning, so I shouldn't miss the rest of the group when you arrive.

Lisa :)
