Treasures of Sicily

An excellent introduction to the island of Sicily, taking in history, culture, geography/geology and cuisine! It gave me a good idea of what I might want to see again on a return visit.

La Ruta Maya

Woah - what a trip. A sensory overload of people, places and culture along with the anticipation of what might appear around the next corner. Whoever put together the route for this tour, definitely did things in the right order. Colonial Antigua (Guatemala) nestling under a ring of volcanoes kick -started things beautifully. We moved smoothly through the cultural gears, visiting vibrant Mayan markets and villages on our way to Mexico and when we saw our first Mayan ruin at Palenque, we knew we'd reached the edge of travel nirvanah. Completing visits to three more Mayan temple sites, with a couple of days R&R on a Carribean Caye, thrown in, the best was saved for last. Tikal was breathtaking. No words can truly describe its majesty. A superb tour combined with a top, top guide. Thank you for something exceptional.

A fascinating trip

An illuminating and often astonishing introduction to a populous, exponentially developing, hugely impressive but also contradictory country. A week after coming home, I am still processing the experiences and thinking about everything we saw.

Cycling the Back roads of Sri Lanka

This was my first cycle tour and I am sure to look at doing others!! So that's a great start. Exodus and the team on the ground performed well up to expectations. I loved riding the back roads even the bumpy ones especially with the hundreds of smiles and waves from locals we received most days. I didn't like the various roads "under construction" which obviously is unavoidable but dusty and not much fun - a bit of an endurance test. It is not always possible to go on " Back roads" so this happens. I felt safe 99% of the time unless a red local bus was passing nearby they were worse than Tuk Tuks. I loved the food and fruit - fantastic its best to like curries and vegetables. I loved the achievement of our day climbing to Nurawa Eliya, really tough ,such variable climatic conditions but made it. To finish that day at a retro Plantation owners hotel was really quirky. Our support team and leader made us feel respected and encouraged and they were always ready to assist in any way - fantastic. This is a trip with some tough days, but worth the struggle to have the food the landscape and the overall experience which was positive.

Wonderful but hard work

On this trip you get to see some wonderful things but it is very tiring with lots of very early starts and long coach journeys. The days at altitude are quite draining.

Another trip of a lifetime!

Ok, so first things first, this trip isn't for you if you're not happy to travel long distances, have many early starts and put up with dust (we were there in the dry winter months), which gets into places you never realised you had. If you are happy to accept these things you will be treated to an incredible three weeks of wide open landscapes, great game viewing and friendly people. This trip is definitely a journey and whilst I found the first section from Cape Town to Namibia less interesting, at the end of the trip I was so glad it was there as it gave us a real sense of having 'travelled'.

Mt Blanc Circuit

A fascinating, varied walk that is very doable if you are reasonably fit. The description of the walk on the web site is good & fits in with what you get.

Wildly exceeded expectations

We have just returned home having had the most amazing experiences of our lives: trekking to see mountain gorillas; white water rafting on the Nile; awoken by hippos grazing next to the tent; avoiding the determined path of elephants and rhinos, large and small; a lion eating her kill; and many, many more animals and birds. Plus we traveled with and meet great people with stories to share. This is an adventure to be undertaken before everybody else does.
