Cycle Provence & The Luberon

A stunning trip. You have to appreciate that its not like cycling at home and the pace is slower simply because it is hilly but the payback is stunning scenery and great challenges. We could have benefited from maps on a Garmin or equivalent - sometimes we got lost Food and hotels were good - only the first nights meal was disappointing

5 days fantastic hiking in the Dolomites. You can have an idealistic view that the area is beautiful and yes this trip lived fully up to expectations.

Really interesting and different country

Brilliant tour, which ticked all the boxes - picturesque and really interesting. Albanian is really diverse with great archaeology, rugged mountains, beautiful coast, a fascinating history, great food and friendly people.

Happy Monsters

An amazing country and a great way to see it, but some questions around the ethical travel policy in a country where exploitation is so evident and the population so poor.

Exodus Response

We are extremely sorry that Sarah felt abandoned during the Air France air pilot strike that regrettably impacted on her group. It is the responsibility of the airline to re-protect all flights, but nonetheless, our aviation team worked hard to intervene in this instance to confirm that our clients were re-protected and were able to return home as quickly as possible. We have received very good feedback from other Exodus clients whose journeys were affected by the strike and we are disappointed that Sarah’s experience was not so positive. We have spoken to all Exodus staff members who were on duty this weekend and it is unclear who Sarah contacted, but we are very sorry that Sarah’s group fell ill at the hotel that Air France accommodated them at; our aviation manager has raised this with our account manager at Air France. An Exodus staff member has recently returned from this trip without raising any ethical concerns, but we will review this set-up to ensure that this tour is running in line with our Responsible Tourism policy. We hope that Sarah has some great memories of her trip overall - Exodus Customer Services

Our guides, Enrico and Giovanni, can take much credit for an excellent holiday. The coastal rides are beautiful and the hotels are very comfortable. There may be scope to improve on the dinner options however.

Prague to Budapest trip

A beautiful way to see a little bit of 4 countries. I wish we had a rest day in Vienna as we had very little time to see anything. Two shorter ride days in Hungary could have easily been combined to give a day to see amazing Vienna. The first three riding days in Czech Republic were hillier than I expected as the trip notes say it is not a hilly ride. Day 3 in particular was a long, hilly day. Do some hill riding before you go. The trip could have been better organized at times and some of the hotels were in rather poor condition, but overall, I enjoyed the trip. The scenery is incredible and I will visit these countries again!

We would like to assure Sandra that the trip manger has taken her feedback on board and that our local operator is conducting a review of the bikes available to our clients, to ensure that they are of the standard and variety we expect. We are very glad that Sandra has been inspired to return to the countries visited on this trip and we hope that we will also be able to welcome her on another trip elsewhere soon - Exodus Customer Services

Be a traveller, not a tourist

Three weeks out of this world! Test your fitness on the mountain passes, see the most incredible desert landscape and push yourself outside of your comfort zone (Tibetan toilets anyone?) but more importantly see, smell and touch Tibet from a bike.

Vienna to Budapest by Bike

The trip was great. We arrived in Vienna three days before the bike trip and stayed with a distance cousin that I had contacted through my genealogy. We toured the city seeing Schombrunn castle, Kloisterneiburg cathedral, a Vienna concert as well as the downtown, The bike trip was difficult as we only travelled at 13kpm av. while younger people travelled at over 20kpm. We often arrived at our destination late in the afternoon and found that it was too late to tour buildings that were about to close. I enjoyed the view because we were not near the river but travelling through beautiful farm country and small towns much of the time. We also spent three days in Budapest which I think was about the right amount. We would have enjoyed taking the boat into Budapest on the last half of the last day except the boat did not operate in September on the Sunday that we were there.

Exodus Response

We are very glad that Vernon really enjoyed this trip. Although the emphasis is on the cycling, we try and allow for time to visit the various sites nearby and should any of our clients like to, we will happily arrange additional time at the beginning or the end of the trip if this is requested at the time of booking. The trip manager has taken all of Vernon’s feedback on board and is currently looking into the possibility of employing GPS systems to improve our clients’ navigation of cycle routes. We trust that when in place, this will positively enhance our clients cycling experiences. Exodus Customer Services

Highly recommended (but be prepared for the long journeys!)

All of the reviews of this trip are consistent in one thing - you will spend a lot of time on the road, but Peru is huge country and there is a lot to see so this shouldn't come as a surprise! I loved this trip - its varied, with a great mix of town and country and plenty to see and do. I personally found the altitude to be challenging at times but due to the mix of going high and coming down lower found this became easier as the trip progressed. The coaches used were very comfortable and the hotels were clean, comfortable and when in the cities well appointed for the town centres. Those in more rural areas were beautifully appointed.
