Hidden Treasures of Jordan

A huge amount to see and experience, from museum in Amman with 400,000 year old flint tools and Dead Sea scrolls to as good Roman remains in the vicinity as there are in Rome (where we went a few months before). Trips out from Amman not too long and plenty to see, explore and experience. Quite sobering to see the Golan Heights and later in the trip a Syrian refugee camp in the desert. Travelling south to see the St John the Baptist baptism site and nearly touch Israel across the Jordan, arranged as an extra by our very knowledgeable and friendly tour guide Ali. 'Sinking' in the Dead Sea at the beach of our 5* upgrade hotel, plus another addition by Ali of a late afternoon visit to Little Petra. Two days of heat in Petra, setting off early for the climb to the Monastry with the shade temperature of 32C at 0715. Found remains of the oldest purpose built Christian church in the world in Aqaba; not to mention crusader castles, the 'Promised Land' lost in the haze, Madaba where we would have liked a bit more time to wander and Wadi Rum. Food different and very good all the way and all the Jordanians we met were very friendly. A diverse and very friendly group made this and excellent trip.

Trekking in the Picos, Spain

Iain, Glasgow

I went on the Picos de Europa trip during the first week of June 2014. On day 1 we were driven to the hotel and pretty much left to our own devices. Then over the next 6 days we had 5 days of trekking with 1 day off in-between for R&R. The walking was challenging but there were no technical difficulties and everyone completed the walks. The scenery every was stunning and we were pretty lucky with the weather. This is apparently the wettest bit of Spain and it did rain on 2 of the 8 days but on every other day it was warm and sunny with excellent visibility. Temperatures generally low 20s C. Warm but not uncomfortable. The hotel is pleasant with very friendly staff and the food is excellent. The hotel bar is good value,, however but there are a number of good bars and restaurants (and touristy shops) in the town of Arenas.

Cycling Puglia & Matera

After having completed the Bolzano to Venice tour in 2013 and having enjoyed it immensely with our tour guide (Michele Quaresimin) who was professional and competent) I was disappointed with the local operator and guide on this tour. There were issues when an accident occurred during the tour which highlighted several problems that could easily have been avoided had the local operator had properly trained staff and an action plan in place that included carrying spare bikes and an adequate repair kit and first aid equipment. I also found the tour price quite expensive given that it was the accommodation and breakfast only.

Exodus Response

I am sorry that Gayle felt her tour leader, Sara, was rather under-prepared for the trip and that an accident on the trip was not handled as well as it could have been. This was Sara’s first tour with Exodus, so we appreciate all feedback that can be used to help with our leader training programme. I have addressed all the issues Gayle raised with both Sara and our local operator, and Sara has received further training which we are confident will ensure that future trips run more smoothly. We would like to assure clients that all leaders on this trip will carry first aid kits at all times and that additional bikes will be carried in the support vehicle in the future.

Amazing Andalucia!

A surprisingly wonderful experience shared with a very friendly group of people and fantastic guide. The accommodation was set in a superb location and surrounding. The Farmhouse was very well kept and the food and service of very good standard.

Discover Burma (aon)

This trip was well organized, with some very early starts and long days. Hotels on this trip we stayed in were very good. People of Burma we met were very friendly and always had a smile on their face and willing to help you (we had a friendly shop keeper that gave us our money back when we gave him too much money)

Highlights of China tour

We are a couple aged 29 and 35, this was our first organised tour trip and first time to china. We had no reason to choose exodus over others except for their reassuring and speedy responses to our naive nervous questions. Highlights of china tour booked and again the exodus team were on hand to assist whatever the question. We had not received our passports until three days before we travelled, but exodus had already given us various options to delay travel at minimal costs.

Imperial china and Yangtze cruise

An amazing trip, non stop wow factor. It was everything I thought it would be. The tour leader was excellent and looked after us really well dealing with all our needs along the way. The itinerary was hectic but enabled us to cover a lot of ground can't recommend it enough.
