Grand Tour of Iceland

Grand Tour of Iceland

Overall it was an interesting trip, seeing some strange and wonderful sites A lot colder than we first thought it would be this time of year, but Iceland is about a month behind in its weather. A few of the roads we needed to use were still closed, so had to do long round trips to get sack on track in a few places.

Bosnia & Beyond

I LOVE the Balkans!!!!

5
My 8th and, quite simply, THE best Exodus trip I have done (and that's saying something!) We had history, from both the first World War and the more recent conflict in the 1990's. We had culture. We had some hikes through beautiful locations. We had the vibrant cities of Sarajevo (now on my list as one of my favourite's) and Dubrovnik. We had the Eastern feel of Istanbul in Mostar. We visited Churches, Monastery's and a Mosque. We had great food and even better wine and beer from the Balkans!! The prices were really cheap too. Great hotels, especially in Zabljac and Dubrovnik. Weather was in the early 30's and that was May/June. The local people were friendly and most had good English.

Highlights of Georgia & Armenia

Georgia & Armenia May 2015

Well organised tour with a good hostess. Perhaps too much emphasis on monasteries and cathedrals and not enough on the culture and people. Would have been nice to have been invited to a dance performance by a group or to a small restaurant where the culture of toasts and dancing by a local troupe took place.

Walking the Picos de Europa

A wonderful week in the Picos de Europa

5
It was a great week which far exceeded our expectations. Good food, comfortable hotel, magnificent views, and a really informed, enthusiastic and attentive guide who had the knack of making us all feel as if we had his undivided attention. The hotel owners, Jim and Pilar, went out of their way to satisfy our diverse dietary requirements and provided a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Walking The Amalfi Coast

Amalfi Coast Walking

The 2 Torri Hotel in Bomerano is an excellent choice as a base for this walking holiday. It is located in a friendly village surrounded by beautiful mountains, high above the coast. The walks are spectacular. There is also time for sight seeing at Pompeii, and on the free day. We were fortunate to also include a visit to Herculaneum on the return journey to the airport.

The Amalfi Coast Self-Guided

The Amalfi Coast: Self-guided

The hotel where we were based was excellent. The hotel owner (manager) and all of his staff could not do enough to make our stay more pleasant. We were advised that one of the days during out stay was a bank holiday and it was recommended that we undertook a different walk than scheduled avoiding public transport which was more limited on this day. Without this advice we would have been waiting longer for public transport back to the hotel. The hotel staff spoke to us every day to provide advice and help. The food was very varied and prepared and cooked to a good standard and gave us a "taste of Italy" throughout the week. Also we were invited on two occasions into the kitchen to watch and take part in making pizza and tiramisu; which was great fun. All the staff were very friendly, polite and courteous from the hotel manager, cook, waiting staff and staff attending the pool area and bar which made our stay special. I cannot recommend this hotel more highly.

Kayaking on the Turquoise Coast

kayaking the Turquoise Coast

This was my first Exodus trip and it lived more than up to my expectation. I was with a great group of people which made the trip such a memorable one. My kayaking experience was limited but the guides were great instructors and had an awesome experience.
