Dobbiaco cross country skiing

This resort is excellent for beginners and improvers. The integrated and impressive public transport system ,with our local pass, gave us access to a good variety of terrain, within stunning mountain settings. Having grade 1 and 2 running the same week together gave me confidence I would get training and challenges I could cope with. Older people who are reasonably fit from taking good walks should not be afraid to try this sport. The new spa at the Turchsentaler Hotel has been fitted out to a high standard and is a delightful place to easy away aches and pains and relax before dinner.

Iceland Winter walking and snowshoeing

This is a top notch holiday for any one wishing to do winter activities in Iceland. It was fairly full on from the moment we landed till the moment we got back to Ray K. We did see a lot of Iceland in a small amount of time. I enjoyed the sight seeing and the Group Leader's stories about the Icelandic sagas, so much so that we bought a book on them all! War And Peace and Lord Of The Rings combined! We did spend a lot of the time in the mini bus on some days so we did feel a little bit cooped up. When we were let out we stayed out as long as we could!

No mattatas

And in the words of guide, Tsepho, - there were no problems - and that's the truth on our Port Elizabeth garden route holiday which ended on Friday 13th. The holiday itself benefitted from the Exodus mini bus being out of commission and we had a slightly larger van and the services of Mr Mike (aka Uncle Mikey) who joined in the fun and was always the first smiling face we saw as we got back on the coach. We also had another huge advantage in that we were also accompanied by "trainee" guide, Sue, of Kruger fame who had huge knowledge of the animal and plant kingdoms and put us to shame in our knowledge of the stars, despite cribbing the new star app on our tablets. A diverse and friendly group of several nationalities who bonded well from the first safari at Addo national park, despite the lack of elephants during the day and the damp conditions in the evening. No-one upset the status quo - all arrived on time and contributed different opinions and experiences to the holiday. Just a shame it was over so quickly but emails are already rolling in and the photos are being shared.

Classic Kenya Safari

This was my first trip to Africa, so I was really looking forward to it, and it did not disappoint! The animals were so beautiful, and it was lovely to see them in their natural habitat. We saw elephants, lions, warthogs, giraffes to name a few. We were even lucky enough to see a striped hyena, which are very rare - even the tour guides were excited to see him. The hotels, especially Camp Ilkeliani, were amazing - glamping in Africa! We saw beautiful sunrises - once from a hot air balloon - and beautiful sunsets. An amazing holiday, with lovely guides, and a lovely group of fellow holiday makers.

Cross Country Skiing with stunning views

This was my first experience of cross country skiing - the location combined with excellent instruction was recommended by a friend. I found it a good mix of challenge in a very supportive atmosphere and loved journeying through the varied landscape. The food was excellent, as was the instruction from experienced leaders combined with lots of laughter.
