Atlas Mountains Trekking Tours
Discover the ultimate adventure on our Atlas Mountains trekking tours, where breathtaking landscapes and incredible cultural experiences await. The Atlas Mountains, stretching across Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia, are known for their dramatic landscapes and cultural richness. Characterized by towering peaks, including Mount Toubkal, the highest in North Africa, the mountains feature a diverse terrain of rugged cliffs, lush valleys, and stark, rocky expanses, perfect for hikers of all skill levels. This region is also the home of the Berber people, whose traditional villages and way of life add a unique dimension to the landscape.
The High Atlas, Middle Atlas, and the Anti Atlas each have their own characteristics, but they are all perfect locations for hiking and trekking. In early spring the slopes of the Anti Atlas are gently colored with the pale pink and white of almond blossoms, while summertime in the High Atlas provides the stark contrast of lush green barley in the irrigated valleys at the foot of the barren rock strata above.
While Mount Toubkal is the highest peak in North Africa and the most popular trek in the High Atlas Mountains in Morocco, there are also many lesser-explored trails to discover. Following ancient paths that snake between secluded villages, over mountain pastures and passes, you’ll be truly absorbed in the mesmerizing landscapes and Berber culture.
Our tours provide a unique opportunity to connect with the local Berber communities, offering authentic experiences that go beyond typical sightseeing. Stay in traditional guesthouses, savor home-cooked meals, and learn about the timeless traditions and way of life of the Berber people. Each step of your journey is crafted to leave you with lasting memories and a profound appreciation for this enchanting region.

Lisa Evans Highlights of Morocco
agnes mocsy Marrakech & the SaharaI’ve traveled far and wide, Morocco being my 58th country. But this trip wasn’t just travel – it was transformation, standing apart as one of the most enriching, moving, and unforgettable adventures of my life.
From the sweeping dunes of the Sahara to the winding alleys of the ancient Medina and the energy of Marrakesh, the poetic beauty of the Atlas Mountains, and the Kasbahs, villages, markets, homes — each day was filled with wonder, beauty, and genuine connection—with the land, its people, and with myself.
As someone who prefers traveling spontaneously and on my own, rather than in coordinated groups, two friends and I decided to try it this time, and joined strangers on this organized trip.
A huge part of what elevated this journey well beyond expectations was our extraordinary guide, Mohamed. His deep knowledge, thoughtful storytelling, and sincere care brought the history, culture, nature, and spirit of Morocco to life in unforgettable ways. He didn’t just show us Morocco—he shared it with us. With his passion, and genuine kindness, he didn’t just lead us—he welcomed us into his culture with warmth and generosity. From shared laughters to heartfelt stories, he made Morocco come alive in ways no brochure or solo travel ever could. The experience was poetry for all senses.
Equally important was our driver, Abdoul, whose calm, confident presence made every journey feel completely safe, no matter how winding the road or how chaos-like the road. His skill behind the wheel allowed us to trust, relax, and truly take in the shifting landscapes.
The itinerary struck a perfect balance between adventure and rest, busy and quiet, and the thoughtfully selected accommodations—including the magical desert camp and the rustic charm gite —created an atmosphere of authenticity and comfort. And the food! Every meal was a sensory delight, and I found myself not just tasting Moroccan food and tea but truly savoring it as a cultural expression. Oh, and I will never forget surrendering to the traditional —non-touristy — hammam with the local ladies in Thigza at 6400ft altitude. I felt cleansed not just on my skin, but deep scrubbed from years of inner hurts.
And the most beautiful part of this trip? The unexpected connections—with locals and with moments of quiet awe. This was more than a vacation. It was a passage into wonder. I have returned transformed and with a yearning to return.
I’m deeply grateful to Mohamed and Abdoul, and to all the people along the way, who welcomed us, shared their homes, shared their knowledge, and the love of their country, for taking us far beyond the surface.
If you’re looking not just to see Morocco, but to feel it, live it, and carry it home in your soul, I can’t recommend this journey with Exodus highly enough.
Errol Graham Highlights of MoroccoI am so glad that I found Exodus Adventure Travels online and so glad that I booked my trip to Morocco with them. I was very impressed with how comprehensive the itinerary was and I am so happy that I got to see and do so much in fifteen days. There were lots of opportunities to discover and learn about the various places we visited, both with the group and when we had free time to explore on our own.
I really enjoyed the varied activities we did – hiking, eating in non-touristy restaurants, meeting locals, and, of course, riding camels – and I also really liked the different types of accommodations we stayed in.
The best of part of all was the fantastic guide we had who did an amazing job imparting his knowledge and sharing so much information with us about the history and culture and the people of Morocco. Mohammed is patient, respectful, and caring, as well as a great communicator who made sure that everyone felt well taken care of and that nobody missed out on anything. Thank you, Mohammed, for everything you did that made this trip the best travel experience I have ever had!!!
