Discover Morocco
One of the ancient capitals of Morocco, Marrakech has a long and fabled history. Surrounded by huge red mud walls and just 65km from the towering Atlas Mountains, modern Marrakech has lost none of that charm, with its soul firmly rooted in the Djemaa el-Fna – the huge square at the heart of life here.
Myriad souks lead away from the Djemaa el-Fna (thought to mean ‘assembly of the dead’), and they can keep a wanderer happy for hours. But it is the square itself, with its acrobats, storytellers, snake charmers, boxing matches and food stalls, that provides the main draw for the population of this great city, as well as a great place for people-watching.

Tony Bond Discover MoroccoOutstanding guide and trip itinerary near perfect, but with a few areas for improvement. There is a limit to how many souks you need to see. Fez in particular felt like one too many – very little new learnt in over an hour. Generally, I could have done with a lot more history, both cultural and political. The last 3 days were a disappointment in the sense that there was very little of interest beyond the mountains themselves and included a very long transfer. At least a day should have had a distinct focus.
Justina Mclaughlin Discover Marrakech & the SaharaThis is a whirlwind introduction to the Atlas Mountain at an affordable price. Thoroughly enjoyed my return to Morocco after 25 years away. It has changed a lot and mostly for the better. This tour takes you through the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, such beautiful scenery but there’s not enough walking in the mountains. I would have liked more time off the bus generally.
