Traveling with younger adventurers? Our family activity tours are designed for families to experience the world together.
It depends on the tour. Our activity vacations range from easy itineraries to tough and demanding challenges, so you can be sure there is one for you.
Every trip has an Activity Level to help you understand how physically demanding it will be. Depending on the type of tour, we consider factors such as distance, terrain, elevation, the activities involved and the overall pace. Check the individual itinerary and Trip Notes before booking for a detailed picture of what to expect. As a guideline, all tours require a reasonable level of health and fitness, as well as an enjoyment of the outdoors.
Yes. Many of our activity vacations are suitable for beginners, while others are designed for travelers with more experience or a higher level of fitness.
The best place to start is with the Activity Level and Trip Notes for the vacation you’re considering. These give you more detail about the daily activities, distances, terrain and pace, helping you choose a trip that matches your experience and confidence.
Both. On a small-guided group vacation, you’ll travel with like-minded people and an expert local guide who takes care of the day-to-day details and brings their knowledge of the destination to your tour. If you choose to travel as part of one of our guided groups, you’ll probably find it’s a mix of solo travelers, couples and friends. This can be a really enriching experience; in fact, it sometimes results in travelers making new lifelong friends who they plan future tours with!
Prefer to travel at your own pace? We also offer self-guided vacations, while selected tours can be arranged as a private group for your own friends or family.
What’s included varies by tour, but your accommodations and the activities specified in the itinerary are typically arranged as part of your tour, along with transportation and meals where stated.
You’ll find a full breakdown of what is and isn’t included on each individual tour page and in the Trip Notes. These also provide useful information about equipment, transfers, optional activities and anything you’ll need to bring, so you know what to expect before you travel.
