Amazon/Inca Trail was amazing!
This was my first time traveling with Exodus and in general. It was an amazing trip and super well organized! It allowed me to get a well-rounded trip without the stress of making all of the arrangements. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and made sure everything ran smoothly. This trip is great for people who are interested in traveling and doing out-doorsy activities.
Most Inspirational Moment
There are just so many moments to choose from...I'd have to select the Inca Trail. I'm not the most fit person, so to say that I've successfully hiked this trail and survived Dead Women's pass is a pretty big moment for me. Also the Inca sites along the trail and of course Machu Picchu was amazing!
Thoughts on Group Leader
Tomas was very knowledgeable and really encouraged responsible tourism, which is greatly appreciated. He made sure everything ran smoothly while making the trip fun. He called us a family and we really were one by the end of the trip.
Advice for Potential Travellers
For the Inca Trail, you really do have to prepare for any weather. We opted for a hotel night 4, and it was the best decision! A bed and hot shower after 4 days of hiking felt great! Also, have good hiking shoes, waterproof. We hiked in the rain and many of us had soaked socks.

A really enjoyable visit to Puglia & Basilicata.
A first class trip. Everything happened as planned. The trip notes were very accurate.
Gentle walking, which is what we expected and wanted on this trip.
Most Inspirational Moment
Matera was the highlight of the trip.
Unknown to us before the trip, but an incredibly interesting place.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Marinella was a fantastic group leader. She was a local, who loved her region and knew a lot about it.
She was very enthusiastic and clearly enjoyed her job.
Nothing was too much trouble for her and the extra touches, that she added, made the trip for us.
Advice for Potential Travellers
The trip notes are accurate.

Cuba Highlights were the Highlights!
Just returned from the eight day trip cycling around Central Cuba. Still on a high!. Brilliant first holiday with Exodus. The combination of an excellent tour guide (Thank you Yasel and his crew), a great bunch of fellow travellers/cyclists, lush green undulating countryside, a variety of good accommodation including two nights “homestays” in Trinidad, the vibrant music, and a hot sunny climate to contrast with the dark, cold grey of London I left, resulted in a memorable holiday experience.
Most Inspirational Moment
Most inspirational moment? - Freewheel cycling 5 KM downhill in blissful sunshine and fresh morning breeze in a stretch of the lush green Topes de Collantes National Park, from the beautiful Lake Hanabanilla. Pure elation! Sadly our last bike journey of the trip before returning to Havana.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Yasel was a real star and key to the whole success of the trip. His knowledge of Cuban history, geography, culture, politics, and culinary delights made it a stimulating week of learning and fun. Always aware of striking the right balance of keeping us to schedule but also able to adapt and improvise if external conditions or requests from the group needed or could be accommodated. He and our driver and mechanic made it so easy for us to just enjoy the whole experience. Even down to laying on a shower of cold water (flagen of cold water poured on our heads) at the top of some of the more challenging hills.)
Advice for Potential Travellers
Just go! Be flexible to try new things, don't make comparisons to other holidays/hotels/meals you've experiences and enjoy the charm, beauty of Cuba and its people as it is today, maybe a unique time in its history. Also I found it good to do a bit of pre reading on the country's history before I went. Its also given me incentive to read more now that I'm back.

A week in Jordan
Wonderful time away for a much needed break. Plenty of variety. Jordan is a fascinating country.
Most Inspirational Moment
The first view of Petra through the gap in the rocks. Followed closely by the guided high walk the following day which enabled us to look down on the Treasury. But there were other delights, like the experience of floating in the Dead Sea, riding camels and snorkling over the Red Sea fringe reefs and seeing all those amazingly colourful fishes and coral.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Knowledgeable, enjoyed having fun.
Advice for Potential Travellers
This may be as a result of the recent incidents at Sharm el-Shiekh- but exiting customs there was a lot of confusion and random decisions made by security about products like Dead Sea mud facial packs and Dead Sea Crystals. Allowed through for some people and not for others. Might be best to purchase from dutyfree or alternatively stow in hold luggage.
It may be wise for group leader and group airport escort to remind before checking in.

Brilliant. Every aspect of the trip was covered by him. Always one step ahead. Very sociable, amicable but most of all professional.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Don't pack too many clothes. Travel light but use good quality kit.

Discover Costa Rica
A great taster of the incredibly varied biodiversity and wildlife of Costa Rica
Most Inspirational Moment
The sounds and colours of the flora and fauna.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Amazing! Johnny was the best ever Exodus tour guide we have had. He has a vast amount of knowledge- wildlife, geography, politics etc, basically anything we were interested in. He shares willingly without overwhelming his guests with information by talking too much or too fast. As consummate professional we felt privilaged to have him as our guide.
Advice for Potential Travellers
You will be hot and sticky, and as others have said, things do not dry. Lightweight clothing is essential. Don't forget you are near the equator so take extra strong sun block.
It rains! We had everything, poncho, cagoule and a brolly and used them all!

Jo'burg to Cape Town Oct/Nov 2015
An excellent trip involving 8 nights camping. The camping is being replaced by lodges/chalets in 2016 so the venues may be the same in some wonderful locations such as the shoreline at Tsitsikamma but the experience will be different. Some long drives in order to cover 4400 kms in less than 3 weeks but the roads are very good with adequate toilet/coffee stops at petrol stations and supermarkets for stock-ups. Great variety of wildlife, scenery, history, and people. Borders crossed quickly.
Most Inspirational Moment
On a night-drive in Kruger, seeing a leopard walk past the vehicle, lie on the road and then move when two hyenas approached. On a night-drive in Swaziland, two lionesses and two cubs walked past the vehicle as though we weren't there. In contrast, the visit to Robben Island guided by two former inmates, and the scenery and people at Malea-lea in Lesotho.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Justin Barr of Mask Expeditions was excellent; couldn't have been more helpful, sociable and knowledgeable. Fiona, the cook, provided a great quantity, quality and variety of food.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Be prepared for the occasional disappointment such as no whales seen from the cliffs at Hermanus although a few were seen on the boat-ride. Take sunscreen for the many hot and sunny days but also rain-gear for the occasional day when the heavens open. Be prepared for some early starts and long days on a very full but extremely interesting and enjoyable journey, and be rewarded with some spectacular scenery.

I am not in any way a cyclist and only ended up on this tour as I joined a friend who had already booked. I had not even been on a bike for approximately 15 years. Was I nervous, yes very much so, and was worried I had bitten off more than I could chew.
I need not have worried as I had an absolutely fantastic time. The support given was superb and it was very well organised, the guides (we had 2 Chai and Nat) and all the support crew were friendly, helpful, and a good laugh. I cannot praise then enough. Chai managed to sort out an incorrect double room booking into the correct twin room booking for the entire trip in a blink of an eye.
The route passed a variety of scenery and the roads were on the whole very good. The route was mainly flat although there were some hills. You have 100% support in Thailand, as the support vehicles can follow the same route, in Cambodia as most of the cycling was for site seeing and between the temples it’s not really needed although the refreshment bus follows so if needed you can jump on it. In Vietnam as you are cycling through villages the support vehicles cannot fit but you meet them at set intervals throughout the day, around every 10-20km, depending on the area.
My only grip would be the trip notes, as I have never done this kind of tour before I relied heavily on these and purchased a repair kit, bike pump, bottle holder, cycling snacks etc. It turned out I did not need any of it, as it was all provided with the support teams (snacks come out of a tipping kitty which you pay into, and are delicious). Even in Vietnam one of the support team who cycles with you, carries these things, so I feel it was a waste of money. I donated most of it to my tour leader and my friend at the end of the trip. Also the price for the optional tour to cu chi tunnels is well out it was more than double, I did not do the others so not sure how accurate these are.
Would I do a cycling holiday again, yes. Would I book with exodus again, yes. It was amazing.
Most Inspirational Moment
For me, seeing how happy the people are even though some have so little, there are smiles and laughter everywhere, the kids come running shouting hello as you cycle past and a hi five is greatly received. Everyone I met was very friendly and welcoming. At one stop a group for children cam got see us selling there goods and one boy had a live tarantula, I freaked, and his response.....don't worry lady I will not come close if you do not like. How refreshing in the UK the kids would probably throw it at you. It's made me this about life and money really does not buy happiness.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Chai and Nat, were both fantastic. Always there to help, friendly and knowledgeable. I could not have asked for a better leaders, they are both an asset to the company.
